Let's settle this.

My vote vehemently against picking him applies largely to Clingan as well.
Hopefully he'll live longer. Not sure he’ll be any better than the last Purdue player we used a 1st round pick on
Polls are seldom an exact science. The options aren't jointly exhaustive, either.Poll options 2 & 3 are not mutually exclusive
You're right. There should definitely be an "I wouldn't use a lottery pick on him, but I wouldn't mind if the Blazers traded for a 3rd pick to get him" option.Polls are seldom an exact science. The options aren't jointly exhaustive, either.
Imagine that all the other players you want at 14 are still available - that should help you pick. You're right. There should definitely be an "I wouldn't use a lottery pick on him, but I wouldn't mind if the Blazers traded for a 3rd pick to get him" option.
All I'm saying is that I could just as easily vote item 2 or 3 and both would be accurate.
I'd rather not spend either lottey pick on guys who I don't see contributing as anything more than backups.Just give me one player with big upside and 1 player that can contribute in near future. I still think we won’t keep both picks I expect this to be a busy trade day
This is my sentiment exactly.I'll tell you what. If it's Edey and 14 or Clingan at 7... I sure as shit hope our front office has a trade in place to bring value back for Deandre if they use one of our two lotto picks on these guys. Deandre seems to need to feel wanted and drafting either of these guys would probably hurt Ayton's psyche. Also if we're going to go in on one of these two I want them to get a ton of PT.
Basically spending one of our top 2 picks on an old school C like we already have and then keeping our current old school C would frustrate me the same way that having Malcolm and Ant along with Scoot and Shae has frustrated me. It makes no fucking sense.
Hmm...interesting thought experiment. So in this scenario:Imagine that all the other players you want at 14 are still available - that should help you pick.
Give me Willaims and Salaun in that scenario all day. If we passed on either of them if they were available at 14 for Edey, I'd be pissed.Hmm...interesting thought experiment. So in this scenario:
Yeah, in that scenario, I'm probably taking a second forward instead of Edey.
- Sarr/ZR/Reed/Castle/Knecht/Clingan go 1-6
- Blazers pick either Salaun/Holland/Williams/Buzelis at 7
- Topic, Carter, Dillingham, Carrington, Walter and McCain all get selected in that 8-13 range
- and somehow all 3 forwards the Blazers didn't pick at 7 are still magically available at 14
Cronin trade a player who hasn't been here long enough to want out? Unlikely.Lot of people going to have wild emotional swings when we draft him at 14.... and then trade him.
Hopefully he'll live longer.
Yeah I'd be good with that. I still think if you take Edey you better have a trade on the table for Deandre that makes sense.Cody Williams and Edey is how I want the draft to go
I find it bizarre that a team that has Ayton, Williams III, and Reath under contract is looking at drafting center prospects who will likely be far worse than the guys we already have. Can we not turn over a rock somewhere in the draft or trade market and find a power forward prospect?
