Zach Lowe about the Blazers

Great stuff as usual. Really understates Nurk's defensive impact however. His defensive metrics at the rim rival Gobert's.

Nurkic is the keystone of their conservative, drop-back defense. His teams have always defended better -- and fouled less, a Blazers bugaboo before Nurkic arrived -- when he plays. With Nurkic lording over the paint, everyone else stays home on shooters; only three teams have allowed fewer 3s as a share of total shot attempts.

His impact on defense results in more than just fewer threes for opponents. There's actually an intimidation factor now, especially when he's engaged.

Ironically your post adds nothing either.

Fun game

No, his post is a fair assessment of the types of things you post. It was useful info in determining whether or not to read or respond to your posts.

I knew this already, but his post helped reaffirmed the fact that I shouldn't take your negativity seriously.

Thanks for your addition @Boob-No-More

Okay, thats enough. Either add the green font or edit your post.

BNM brings more than almost anyone else here.

You bring troll posts more often than not.

There is no game to be fun. You lost that one a long time ago The moment you thought BNM doesnt bring anything to the table.
Come on. I believe you to be better than this.

Are we changing subjects? I was talking about his 1 post, not all of them

Good article. Very informative analysis on our extra movement on the pick n' rolls and Aminu doing those blind screens on Dame's deep threes. But seriously, if this current team isn't worth paying the luxury tax on then what team is? We've proven we can play with just about anybody in the league.

As always, a reasoned, informative article by Zach Lowe. You can't say he doesn't back up his claims with facts. Perhaps I'm being a homer, but I think he was being a little too conservative about Portland's success/window. All those individual facts are true, but this team is a classic example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Plus, Damian lillard is SPECIAL. Like, really special. He has the heart of a champion, and that's not something you can quantify,

I wish I could disagree with Lowe, but I really can’t. I do think we need one more star player to break through to the elite level. I just don’t think the current version of the Blazers can take the Warriors or the Rockets in a 7-game series. That said, I will be thrilled if they somehow manage to do it.

I agree with that. However, I also think Zach can potentially be that additional star.

BTW, we're still only 20th three point shots attempted. And we're third in the league in 3p% at 38%!

Need to get more of em up there.

I'm stoked that we are even having the discussion. Just a year ago we had signed our future away with bad contracts. Now we actually have a chance to compete at the highest level.
