You can believe that George Zimmerman wasn't in grave danger, but there's not enough evidence to prove it. That really seems to be the case here. There's just no evidence. The only "evidence" is George Zimmerman's obviously biased account of what happened.

He got to hide behind the law and blast a kid away without suffering any major injuries. It's gross.

Yeah, wouldn't have even gotten to trial at all. If some responsible sounding black guy who was a neighborhood watch patrolman shot some white kid he said attacked him? it would have been open and shut self defense, no trial.
