Zimmerman to be charged in Trayvon Martin Case!

Alan Dershowitz, the known conservative racist, is at it again.

With ABC News’ release of the George Zimmerman photo showing blood flowing freely from his head, the question becomes whether Angela Corey, the prosecutor in the case, had access to the photo before charging Zimmerman with second-degree murder.

The arrest affidavit did not mention the photograph, or the bleeding, gashes, and bruises on Zimmermans’ head. Professor Alan Dershowitz of Harvard Law School stated upon release of the arrest affidavit that it was “so thin that it won’t make it past a judge on a second degree murder charge … everything in the affidavit is completely consistent with a defense of self-defense.”

After the release of the photo, however, Dershowitz went much further, telling Breitbart News that if the prosecutors did have the photo and didn’t mention it in the affidavit, that would constitute a “grave ethical violation,” since affidavits are supposed to contain “all relevant information.”

Dershowitz continued, “An affidavit that willfully misstates undisputed evidence known to the prosecution is not only unethical but borders on perjury because an affiant swears to tell not only the truth, but the whole truth, and suppressing an important part of the whole truth is a lie."

When asked if it made a difference whether the prosecution had the bloody photograph at the time they charged Zimmerman, Dershowitz responded, “We do know that there were earlier photographs before the affidavit was done that strongly suggested blood on the back of the head, and we know the police had first access to him, so if there was blood they [the prosecution] would know about it …

"I've had cases in Florida against prosecutors,” Dershowitz said, “and this is not the first time they have willfully omitted exculpatory evidence. It's a continuing problem. Here, it’s not only immoral, but stupid. The whole country is watching. What do they benefit from having half-truths in an affidavit?"

Dershowitz added, "I'm not taking sides, but I'm insisting that both sides play by the rules, and so far the prosecution is not playing by the rules."

From what I've read I believe Zimmerman will be acquitted. In fact I don't think he should have been arrested in the first place.

Dumbass cracka should have had a gun! Of course, he'd have a $1 million bounty on his head. It's probably best that he just let this mob beat him into the ICU. Less trouble for him this way. I wonder if our President will comment on this, and plead for restraint in the Zimmerman show trial.

MOBILE, Alabama --
Mobile police need your help to catch a mob that beat Matthew Owens so badly that he's in critical condition.

According to police, Owens fussed at some kids playing basketball in the middle of Delmar Drive about 8:30 Saturday night. They say the kids left and a group of adults returned, armed with everything but the kitchen sink.

Police tell News 5 the suspects used chairs, pipes and paint cans to beat Owens.

Owens' sister, Ashley Parker, saw the attack. "It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed." Parker says 20 people, all African American, attacked her brother on the front porch of his home, using "brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on."

Police will only say "multiple people" are involved.

What Parker says happened next could make the fallout from the brutal beating even worse. As the attackers walked away, leaving Owen bleeding on the ground, Parker says one of them said "Now thats justice for Trayvon." Trayvon Martin is the unarmed teenager police say was shot and killed February 26 by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Samford, Florida.

Police canvassed the area, but did not find any suspects. They're asking anyone with information to call them at 251-208-7211, Crime Stoppers at 251-208-7000, or text a tip to 274637 and include the keyword CRIME 411.

It doesn't sound like any minorities were hurt, so how is this news?

Good point. I'm sure chris_in_pdx will write some mealy-mouthed "what was the mob thinking?" thread, and a bunch of us can be called racists/white supremacists by other posters for actually wanting the legal process to play out. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that nobody is going to march on Mobile to demand the immediate arrest of people involved in this cowardly attack.

Your quote of the article says that the police canvassed the area, they have 3 different hotlines set up and this is in the news within a day or two of the incident. This story, and the one of the kid who was set on fire that I think you posted earlier are exactly why the Trayvon case got so much pub (eventually). These were actively and immediately brought to the public's attention by the police, whereas in Trayvon's case his parent had to sue to even hear the 911 tapes. It is the attention that is paid to crimes against white people compared to minorities. It's the same for missing children. If a white little kid goes missing, it's newsworthy. If that kid is black, no one knows about it.

Is it on purpose? Probably not. But that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. And it doesn't mean it isn't racism.

"Now that's justice for Trayvon" pretty much trumps anything non racist about it.

As for the story, unlike the Trayvon Martin shooting, I read this story on a fucking basketball forum

I'm not talking about the actual crime. I'm sure that was racially fueled. I'm talking about the police/public response to it. Everyone can see that this was a horrific crime. From all indications in that article, the police are doing everything possible to catch them. In the Trayvon case, people and the police are accepting the word of the admitted killer as the truth because no one else saw anything (what sparked the incident). So what if he has a minor head wound. He could have attacked Trayvon, and then at some point hit his head and then shoot him (not saying that happened, but it is a possibility) If the killer was black or Trayvon was white, the police AND general public response would have been different.

There are always going to be racist individuals, some more overt than others. But that isn't the point here.

This one sentence summarizes today's major media, and their obvious agenda.

Yes, their grand agenda. Trayvon was only in the national spotlight because of the apparent lack of action by the police. The actual killing isn't exactly newsworthy, at least on a national level. Neither is this beating.

wonder what the guy said to the kids to get the mob so angry

In his Jerry Maguire voice, he said, "I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE!"

Not so sure why they were so heated over that. But I'm not surprised. It seems like every time something happens to a black man, and a man with skin lighter is the instigator, it's racism. When it's reversed, it's swept under a rug by the media or made out to be "a random crime caused by people being themselves". It's no wonder racism continues to thrive here in the US - our media continues to provide the atmosphere.

On a side note..... The heat is off of Casey Anthony quite a bit. I'd say she can return to Florida, but she's best staying out of the sight of black people.

Can't imagine anyone stopping anyone beating her, so she'd be too easy a target for this "black-on-white retaliation" the NBP are pushing for.

The police questioned Zimmerman for 5 hours the night of the shooting, took witness statements, took photographs, and hadn't closed their investigation of him or the death of Trayvon Martin. The national media picked it up because Barack Obama made it a national issue by saying that his make-believe son would look like Trayvon, and the race hustlers like Al Sharpton swooped in with their agenda. Since that point, the President sits back while racial tensions inflame. Obama has yet to say anything about the New Black Panther Party putting a $1 million bounty on Zimmerman's head. That's pretty fucking telling, IMO.

Seems obvious to me what's going on, and it's designed to incite poor black people by giving them a scapegoat, and to confuse stupid white people who don't follow politics and the art of political manipulation.

Sounds just like the Zimmerman/Martin case. The facts are almost identical . . .

Did you read that part that pertained to Trayvon Martin? That's the only reason I posted this article.

Also, you're right in one thing. This dude was white, while Zimmerman is Hispanic, so the case is not at all identical.

Reminder: Racism requires power. Ergo, it is impossible for non-whites to be racist.

Believe me.... don't I know it.

It's fucking retarded. I read somewhere that the NBP are not racists - they are freedom fighters rallying the black man to supreme and divine equality. Yeah, you morons ain't bringing yourselves up - you're just trying to bring the white man down. Fighting, looting, using names to descriminate, etc.... makes you no better than the racist white man you hate. Chumps.

Where they say that is justice for Martin?

Who is Martin and who is Zimmerman in the example you give? As I see it, the incident you posted dealt with a group of black men who were armed and had an agenda against a white person who was not armed. Is it similar in that Zimmerman was armed and had an agenda against black people and Martin was unarmed?

That was my point. You made it sound like the national media is ignoring this new incident because the guy is white. My point was that neither, on the merits of the crimes themselves, are newsworthy. What the outcry was about was was apparent lack of vigor that they were pursuing the case. All the time we hear the 911 tapes almost immediately, or at least by the next night on the news. In this case the parents had to sue to hear them. Why was that? From the outside, it looks like Zimmerman had a somewhat plausible story. But there is no way in hell that a black man would get off with the same "yeah, I had been following him and yeah, he wasn't armed, and yeah there is no evidence that he was causing mischief, but he attacked me and I shot him" story. There is no way the police would have bought it and no way that story would fly in public eye. And that is why this is a race issue and why there is a need for those 'race hustlers' (I personally don't like Sharpton and can't stand listening to him).

Moral of the story. Don't start shit and then shoot a black man just because he has a hoodie and likes iced tea and skittles.

New article on Zimmerman. Some interesting pieces of information in it. Turns out Zimmerman is part black, too, and the grandmother who raised him as well. :MARIS61:

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/04/25/us-usa-florida-shooting-zimmerman-idUSBRE83O18H20120425

(Reuters) - A pit bull named Big Boi began menacing George and Shellie Zimmerman in the fall of 2009.

The first time the dog ran free and cornered Shellie in their gated community in Sanford, Florida, George called the owner to complain. The second time, Big Boi frightened his mother-in-law's dog. Zimmerman called Seminole County Animal Services and bought pepper spray. The third time he saw the dog on the loose, he called again. An officer came to the house, county records show.

"Don't use pepper spray," he told the Zimmermans, according to a friend. "It'll take two or three seconds to take effect, but a quarter second for the dog to jump you," he said.

"Get a gun."

That November, the Zimmermans completed firearms training at a local lodge and received concealed-weapons gun permits. In early December, another source close to them told Reuters, the couple bought a pair of guns. George picked a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm handgun, a popular, lightweight weapon.

By June 2011, Zimmerman's attention had shifted from a loose pit bull to a wave of robberies that rattled the community, called the Retreat at Twin Lakes. The homeowners association asked him to launch a neighborhood watch, and Zimmerman would begin to carry the Kel-Tec on his regular, dog-walking patrol - a violation of neighborhood watch guidelines but not a crime.

Few of his closest neighbors knew he carried a gun - until two months ago.

On February 26, George Zimmerman shot and killed unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin in what Zimmerman says was self-defense. The furor that ensued has consumed the country and prompted a re-examination of guns, race and self-defense laws enacted in nearly half the United States.

During the time Zimmerman was in hiding, his detractors defined him as a vigilante who had decided Martin was suspicious merely because he was black. After Zimmerman was finally arrested on a charge of second-degree murder more than six weeks after the shooting, prosecutors portrayed him as a violent and angry man who disregarded authority by pursuing the 17-year-old.

But a more nuanced portrait of Zimmerman has emerged from a Reuters investigation into Zimmerman's past and a series of incidents in the community in the months preceding the Martin shooting.

Based on extensive interviews with relatives, friends, neighbors, schoolmates and co-workers of Zimmerman in two states, law enforcement officials, and reviews of court documents and police reports, the story sheds new light on the man at the center of one of the most controversial homicide cases in America.

The 28-year-old insurance-fraud investigator comes from a deeply Catholic background and was taught in his early years to do right by those less fortunate. He was raised in a racially integrated household and himself has black roots through an Afro-Peruvian great-grandfather - the father of the maternal grandmother who helped raise him.

A criminal justice student who aspired to become a judge, Zimmerman also concerned himself with the safety of his neighbors after a series of break-ins committed by young African-American men.

Though civil rights demonstrators have argued Zimmerman should not have prejudged Martin, one black neighbor of the Zimmermans said recent history should be taken into account.

"Let's talk about the elephant in the room. I'm black, OK?" the woman said, declining to be identified because she anticipated backlash due to her race. She leaned in to look a reporter directly in the eyes. "There were black boys robbing houses in this neighborhood," she said. "That's why George was suspicious of Trayvon Martin."

...continued at link ...

In 2004, Zimmerman partnered with an African-American friend and opened up an Allstate insurance satellite office, Donnelly said.

Who is the Uncle Tom that went into business with this racist piece of trash?

But it was the August incursion into the home of Olivia Bertalan that really troubled the neighborhood, particularly Zimmerman. Shellie was home most days, taking online courses towards certification as a registered nurse.

On August 3, Bertalan was at home with her infant son while her husband, Michael, was at work. She watched from a downstairs window, she said, as two black men repeatedly rang her doorbell and then entered through a sliding door at the back of the house. She ran upstairs, locked herself inside the boy's bedroom, and called a police dispatcher, whispering frantically.

"I said, 'What am I supposed to do? I hear them coming up the stairs!'" she told Reuters. Bertalan tried to coo her crying child into silence and armed herself with a pair of rusty scissors.

Police arrived just as the burglars - who had been trying to disconnect the couple's television - fled out a back door. Shellie Zimmerman saw a black male teen running through her backyard and reported it to police.

After police left Bertalan, George Zimmerman arrived at the front door in a shirt and tie, she said. He gave her his contact numbers on an index card and invited her to visit his wife if she ever felt unsafe. He returned later and gave her a stronger lock to bolster the sliding door that had been forced open.

"He was so mellow and calm, very helpful and very, very sweet," she said last week. "We didn't really know George at first, but after the break-in we talked to him on a daily basis. People were freaked out. It wasn't just George calling police ... we were calling police at least once a week."

In September, a group of neighbors including Zimmerman approached the homeowners association with their concerns, she said. Zimmerman was asked to head up a new neighborhood watch. He agreed.

But I thought he was a self-appointed neighborhood watch captain?

Around the same time, Zimmerman also gave Rodriguez and his wife, Audria, his contact information, so they could reach him day or night. Rodriguez showed the index card to Reuters. In neat cursive was a list of George and Shellie's home number and cell phones, as well as their emails.

Less than two weeks later, another Twin Lakes home was burglarized, police reports show. Two weeks after that, a home under construction was vandalized.

The Retreat at Twin Lakes e-newsletter for February 2012 noted: "The Sanford PD has announced an increased patrol within our neighborhood ... during peak crime hours.

"If you've been a victim of a crime in the community, after calling police, please contact our captain, George Zimmerman
."

Kudos to Reuters for actually doing some investigative reporting. Interesting that the 263-unit community's newsletter recognized Zimmerman as their go-to person for reporting the frequent crimes on the property.

I really don't know why this is still a story.

*People are shot every day

*People are fucked over by the justice system every day

The only reason why this is a story is because people have to have something to rage about every week, and the media just holds onto stories longer than the national attention span cares about them.
