No, Craig is not as good as Bond, no one has or will be as good as Connery. However, I do find Craig to be second best and pretty far ahead of no. 3. Craig is not a pretty boy and seems tougher than the rest of the pack. The only thing Craig does not do that Bond loved to do was smoke Dunhill cigarettes.

When I smoked, I preferred Dunhill Reds.

BTW, all the old Bond movies minus the Daniel Craig ones are on Hulu right now.

The advanced special effects available nowadays in the Craig/Bond films as opposed years ago with the Connery/Bond also makes for a more exciting and action packed episodes and gives the nod to Craig for me.
Oh yeah, the fight scenes are now more real than before. But the character of Connery's Bond, including his demeanor and the results that he got just overwhelm Craig, an otherwise terrific Bond. I like Craig. He's probably the best on out there but Connery is the supreme example.

Funny thing is that Ian Fleming didn't want Connery to play the part. Why, I'll never know.

Yeah, to be fair, even if you ask a younger person (younger than us) which actor comes to mind when someones says "Bond, James Bond", the answer is usually Sean Connery.

James Bond, as a whole, is overrated. None of the old movies are actually good. Casino Royale was decent but I could have done without the other recent movies. I really think this franchise is going to die out soon.

You might like Get Smart. It is a tv series comedy version of spies made in the late 60s.

Release of new James Bond film No Time To Die is pushed back from April to November because of coronavirus outbreak
  • The 25th Bond adventure was originally scheduled to be released on March 31
  • But now it will not be released until November following 'careful consideration'
  • Earlier this week, die-hard 007 fans had begged MGM and Universal to delay it
  • A fan website suggested the delay amid fears coronavirus might close cinemas
  • The deadly virus has infected more than 92,000 worldwide and now killed 3,110

I'm not really excited for this movie, unless the main villian (Rami Malek) is actually Dr. No.

You forgot a few:

On your list, I thought Moore, Dalton and Brosnan were awful with Brosnan being the worst of those three. David Niven and George Lazenby were actually worse than Brosnan which is really saying something because Brosnan was painfully bad. Brosnan, Niven and Lazenby made me want to throw a brick through my TV.

It wasn't my list. Niven was in Casino Royale, which was a spoof on the 007 genre, so his characterization of James Bond doesn't really count. But, yeah, I hated that movie.

I enjoyed the movie. Great action, lots of throwbacks. Followed a classic Bond formula.

My ranking of Daniel Craig movies:

1. Casino Royale
2. No time to die
3. Quantum of Solace
4. Spectre
5. Skyfall
