<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>not only not a superstar anymore...magic said "HE CANT DO IT ANYMORE"..he cant get to the rim, he cant make up for his lack of explosiveness, he cant impact the game, he cant adjust to losing his hops...
basically, magic said that vince is a useless player.
now that vince is averaging 28, 8 and 5 since the playoff push began? magic is nowhere to be found.
BTW, i have an interview with magic for the YES network earlier this year "carter is still a very explosive player" and he can "get to the rim"....hypocrite in the greatest sense of the word.</div>
LMAO! Please tell me this was AFTER he ran his stupid, uninformed mouth on TNT with that other doyen of basketball, Charles Barkley.
</div>
no it was from earlier in the year. i want to say a month before he ranted.
</div>
I loved after Vince threw down that monster dunk on Mbenga Mark Jackson kept saying "look at that Magic JohnsoN" everytime VC went to the rim.
I am convinced Vince still has the ability to average 28-30 ppg, 6-7 rpg and 4-5 apg in a season he just has to be motivated for the entire season.
</div>
ditto. as we see now he is easily averaging 28 8 and 5 since the playoff push began. without kidd there, he feels more free and it shows. he stepped us a leader 2nd half of season. and believe me, he knows that he has to do it the whole season. he doesnt need us telling him to...he knows whats up

It's funny people would often argue VC only averages 25, 6 and 5 or whatever because of Kidd but I'd always argue VC would be better without Kidd because Vince is at his best when he has the ball and can create for himself/his teammates. People just didn't get that VC wasn't a product of Kidd in New Jersey. Aside from injuries one of the biggest problems for Vince and the Nets this year was Lawrence Frank tried to make Vince more of an off the ball player but that just isn't his style. When Vince has the ball he really makes his teammates better too because teams know if they don't double Vince he can have a huge night so they double him but he's an excellent passer too. Not only is he an excellent passer and a scoring threat he's also unselfish.
As far as his numbers next year one thing I think is almost a lock is he will average a career high in rebounds with Kidd gone for a full season.
