LOL I can't believe you're still pushing this bullshit about the parents being "the real criminals". Do you think any prosecutor is stupid enough to prosecute them? No? Then tell me again why they are "criminals". If being irresponsible by not "instilling the proper values/morales/judgement/respect" in regards to handling a toy gun in your children means you're a criminal, let's arrest a whole bunch of people.
Buying a toy gun for your kid is not a crime nor is it irresponsible, unless you're advocating to ban toy guns lol (and we don't know if he even got the toy gun from his parents). Not teaching (we don't know this either) the kid that he shouldn't take off the red tip and go pointing it at people might be irresponsible, but certainly no crime. How you can't comprehend this is beyond me.
You're projecting your fear of "guns" on this incident, which is clouding your judgement.
The video of the incident shows a kid all by himself walking around in a non threatening manner. A caller called to report that it's probably a fake gun that the kid is waving around. Police rushes in and shot the kid dead.
Are you really telling me that this situation couldn't have been handled better? You can use all the "whatifs" you want, but the worst possible outcome occurred only after the police showed up. And that's reasons enough to question whether the officers used unnecessary lethal force.
No, that's not my solution, but it sure is a hell of a lot better than killing an innocent kid (or is he guilty and should be shot because he was being stupid to you?). Should the police shoot and kill every kid that was reported to be waving a "probably fake gun" (but otherwise non threatening to the officers) around? Would you be more comfortable with that "solution"?
That depends on how the situation was handled, as it should be when trying to assess incident like this one. All we can do is look at what happened here (and not trying to project more to it). And what happened here is an innocent kid was shot to death before he was given a chance.
But I understand the chicken shit mindset. If someone looks or do something "threatening" (even if he's perfectly within his rights), let's call in big brothers to protect our asses (who gives a fuck about his rights!). An old, mean looking woman knitting on a public bench? Let's call the cops because she might stab me with those deadly, pointy things. A toddler that looks too old to still be wearing diapers? Damn, he might just be wearing a diaper loaded with explosives! Let's call the cops to kill the mother titsucker.
The asshole, law abiding citizen that's annoying you is just as entitled to be protected as you. You don't like the fact that he's annoying or maybe threatening you? Nut the fuck up or GTFO. And before you call me a keyboard warrior, I'd take the "GTFO" route every time before I'd call the cops to infringe on the asshole's rights.
Well, at least you're doing your part to help pussifying America. I'd say "nut up or GTFO", but that would requires a person to have balls.
You're funny. Im pussifying america, and I have gun fear? You're so far from right it's ridiculous.
From what *I* read from the
original post, I made comments on, that's IT.
From what was reported initially in this original post, was that the boy was being a menace to society and scaring the shit out of other people with a gun that had its orange tip removed. The Police didn't know if it was real and what was REPORTED was that the cops told the kid to "raise his hands". I responded appropriately.
The kids parents are the real criminals. They should have instilled proper values and respect for firearms or replica firearms AND police into them. If you don't agree, then you do not have respect for firearms AT ALL.
And hey, dude, I am not stupid, I know a Prosecutor isn't going to charge their parents. It's more of a fucking "saying/belief" than anything else. The parents should be ashamed of themselves and ultimately are responsible along with the police in this situation.
Fact: *IF* The officers gave commands and the kid didn't listen, but instead reached into his waist band for the gun, I have no problem with them taking the next step. But from the NEW video evidence it doesn't look like that, so my position could change here.
Fact: More evidence came out after I initially made my comments (which were made on the OP); which have made me change my position on how the police handled this particular situation.
Fact: I have no fucking problem changing my position based on new evidence. I have no skin in the game, and I wasn't talking to anyone else but you dorks on here about it.
Chicken Little, Gun fear, Pussy? LOL As if dude. My Aunt is a Police Officer, and I have plenty of fucking firearms to deal w/whatever threat I need to. Have one in my glove box, supernova under my bed, a glock in my nightstand and another in a bathroom under the counter. Sooooooooo far from the truth talking about me. I just respect the shit out of firearms, most don't. Regardless if they are "Fake" or not.
