WTF? Serge Ibaka and Dirk Nowitzki are better than LA?..... some people on this board...

I still think LMA will take less than the max, anyhow, so long as he gets $100m over the 5 years.

I agree. If anyone will take less its LMA. He's just that humble, and if he's smart he'll realize it's what it takes to win.

I'd take Dirk Nowitski, Anthony Davis, Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, and Serge Ibaka over LA. Tim Duncan is better too but is so old.

This is silly.
none of the players listed are better than Aldridge right now.
none of them would take the Blazers further than Aldridge did this year.
none of them would put up better numbers than Aldridge did this year.
Only one has a chance to be better than Aldridge. But that one must prove he can stay on the court and avoid injuries... Which he hasn't done in his first two years in the league.

olshey really does have it set up for that summer, its gonna be all about getting that 3rd guy, and i would guess LMA is all about that

I don't think he's worth that kind of money. But I don't think I'm ready to move him for a draft pick either setting ourselves back three and more than likely four years. How long do you think it's going take for a rookie with the same potential LA has to come in to gain the experience, know how and seasoning LA has right now? There are things I wish LA was but I'm not sure that's enough for me to give up on what he IS. The right coaches can win with LA. If you replaced Duncan with LA on this Spurs team. They would be just as good and headed in the same direction.

You hope you get him less than that. All of the guys talked about learning from the Spurs series, hopefully what they learn is how all those guys kept taking way less to stay together.

Anthony Davis and Kevin Love might have something to say about that.

who has been injury prone, who has never been in the playoffs.

Aldridge certainly can't be put in those two categories. have to play to be the best.

If LA could play Terrance Jones and Asik every playoff series, he would be MVP. He struggles against physical PFs and drifts from the block. He's not worth anything near a max deal in this era of the luxury tax.

Durant is struggling against the Spurs. He's not worth a max deal, either.

Nowitski is the PF LaMarcus wishes he could be in his dreams. Someone who makes a living from the outside. But Nowitski's eFG% is 10% higher, which is a huge gap. Dirk is still better than LMA. And there is no comparison between Anthony Davis and LA on the defensive end. And I'll take 21 points on 52% shooting over 23 points on 46% shooting.

LA is a volume shooter and an average defender. The only thing remarkable about him is that he's really good at getting his shot off. He gets hot sometimes, but it's a low percentage shot in the long run.

why'd you change your statements and go to this?

Asik isn't physical? News to me and probably everyone else too.
I mean he is a center after all, and way more physical... especially compared to Splitter...
Spurs are a 100x better team than the rockets. If that's what your comparison is then Durant isn't worth a max deal either...lol..
But no the Spurs are playing team defense against Durant, and the team defense is holding him down.
Just like Team defense held down Aldridge.

But that wasn't the statement you originally said.
Love and AD aren't in Aldridge's zip code because neither of them have one.. made it to the playoffs, and two are injury prone which causes them to miss a considerable amount of time.

Have to be on the court to be considered the best. Aldridge is better than both AD and Love because he's on the court.

if Duncan is too old @ 38.. Then Dirk has to be as well at 35.
AD has a chance to be better than Aldridge, but he has to be on the court to do so.
out of a total of 164 games played AD has missed only played in 131 if my math is correct?
a lot of time missed in two years.

MVP's get max deals. I forget, when did LA win the MVP?

Didn't Amare Staudamire get a max deal?

http://seattletimes.com/html/nba/2012287336_nba06.html

Knicks officials said Monday they intend to sign Stoudemire to a contract later this week, after the free-agent moratorium period ends. Stoudemire's agent, Happy Walters, said the deal is for the maximum allowed, which would be an estimated $99.7 million over five years.

Yeah, and then he immediately turned into a shit sandwich. Do you think the Knicks are still happy with that deal?

Probabally not. But the Suns let him walk because they knew his knee's were shot. But i'm not going to look for that article.

James Harden?
Dwight Howard?
Steve Francis?
Russel Westbrook?
they all signed max deals didn't they?

Durant got his max deal before he was MVP. Tell me you were joking. Do I need to remind you again that how quickly the NBA gets a faxed offer doesn't matter, so long as it's withing the 24-hour window?

The only other player in the league taking as many mid range jumpers right is Dirk Nowitski, and he's one of the best in league history at that shot.

For the 2013-2014 season, 41.5% LA's shots were 16 feet (but within the 3pt line). That was his most common shot. He's next most common shot was 10-16 feet. He shot 44% and 39% on those shots.

Dirk shot 49% and 52% from those ranges, but also shot 40% from 3pt range (which is like shooting 60% from 2) .Terry Stotts needs to STOP trying to use LaMarcus like he's Dirk Nowitski.

I see a few players on there who are paid max and haven't won MVP.

Yup, to go along with their max egos.

Dirk is 36 years old, and he still was the best player on his team, and made $22m this year.

The Pant-Shit posts are piling up early this summer.

... max deals are given out all the time to players who arent even top 20 players. LMA is a max player and to say otherwise is just rediculous.

I'm sure that was discussed prior to Stotts getting his contract extension.

"Hey Terry, you need to use LMA this other way. Other than that, thanks for the 54 wins and playoffs series win!"

I wouldn't bet on it. How Terry had used LA has propelled him to career years.
