They need to walk them around so they can see all the hot blonds from Cali that go to UO.
There are attractive girls at every school except (of course) Washington. Beauty is skin deep, but ugly cuts to the core

I read an article about Sr. WR Drew Davis recently where he said he really wasn't seriously considering the Ducks until he visited. This seems typical... usually when you read about what compelled a prospect to commit to Oregon they speak of it feeling like it was the right spot for them. This is probably a combination of the town, university, and program. If a kid wants to be an engineer, Oregon probably isn't the spot for them. Same goes if they want flashy nightclubs and a big exciting city. But the University has many solid education opportunities, Eugene is warm college town goodness, and the #1 ranked program in the land is looking to add a lucky few to star on televised Saturdays. Hopefully they continue to find the right guys who will excel regardless of how many stars they have

Having visited friends who were going to Washington several times, I agree hot girls are few and far between. Unless of course Asian is your thing.

I love Oregon! Keep following me! 5 minutes ago via ÜberTwitter

Rivals just came out with an updated top 100 for the 2011 recruiting class.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-2640

George Farmer came in at #4
Marquise Lee at #19
Blackmon at #46
Lyerla at #87
Yruretagoyena at #88

Nice, very nice!

Besides Yruretagoyena, which ones do you honestly think will choose Oregon? I think Lyerla will, and given Blackmon's twitter response, him as well. Hopefully the new basketball court is a hit with Farmer and Lee. I know I don't like it

Blackmon definitely seems impressed, but he's young. Young people are easily impressionable. Hopefully he doesn't have the same response when he visits the next school.

I wonder what Farmer thought.

So this is how they recruit

dang Blackmon seems like he loved it here. Hopefully that sticks.

Are Farmer and Lee a package deal? I heard they want to play basketball, but I don't know if Altman has interest.

I think Lyerla should be ours. It would be a travesty if he went out of state.

I've read where a few people compare Farmer to Dez Bryant.

So would we he play for the football AND the basketball team if he came here?

He says if he can get 700 to a 1000 followers on his twitter page he will sign the letter of intent right now.

So if you're not following him yet, you should get on it.

how's this one?

"It was awesome," Blackmon said. "I had a great trip, it was one of the best experiences of my life. Everything stood out there; it's impossible to pick one or two things that I loved because basically, the whole visit was a highlight for me."

"The people and the fans are incredible. I was signing autographs and everyone knew who I was. I loved the city of Eugene and how it's a cool college town. I bonded really well with the players and recruits and of course that offense is so explosive, I think it would be a great fit for me."

"It was one big family there," Blackmon said. "It was cool to hang out with George Farmer and the other guys from Serra, Jason Gibson and Marqise Lee. We all talked about going to school together and Oregon is very high on all of our lists right now."

here's another one from ESPN on Lee

"The trip to Oregon was incredible," Lee said. "I didn't get to spend as much time there as I did at Cal since we flew up Saturday morning instead of Friday night but I still had a great time. I mean, what's not to like about Oregon right now. They have a great football team, the fan support is incredible, Nike is really involved, the players and coaches are good guys and the facilities and campus life is incredible."

here is a post I was reading on O-Live from a fan, so take it FWIW

I have scout, rivals, and espn accounts and have been following the Ducks recruiting very close... This could be one of the best recruiting classes in a long times.

Heres a list of our committs..http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=9&c=8&yr=2011

We have lots of highly touted players who have the Ducks in their top few schools..

1. Anthony Wallace..http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=8&c=1&nid=3867043, Loves Oregon and has them as his #1. He just visited USC but still stays Oregon remains his top choice. Heres his quote, "Wallace had a great time during his USC visit, but was it enough to put the Trojans on top for his services?

“I like USC a lot, they have a lot of tradition and are a linebacker U school. The only thing I didn’t like is how they are in trouble and can’t play in bowl games and stuff. They are up there for me but Oregon is still my top school.”

Wallace plans on checking out Ohio State, Arkansas and Oklahoma his last 3 visits, pretty good company eh?

2. Lamar Dawson http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=8&c=1&nid=4582873, Loved his visit to Oregon.. Top schools in no particular order are Oregon, USC, louisville, Florida, and Tennessee, quoted after his visit"Overall, everything went good while I was out at Oregon,” he said. “I enjoyed seeing their facilities, watching the game and just seeing their great atmosphere while I was out there. I really liked how loud those fans get and just how the team stayed in the game even when they were down. And for me, I just like the way they play defense, and the fact if I go there I have a chance to play there early"

3. Viliami Moala http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=8&c=1&nid=4444931Probably not gonna land this guy although he seems to be the next Haloti..Most say its down to Cal and USC with more visits to come.

4. George Farmer http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=8&c=1&nid=3788227, Visited this weekend vs UW.. Havent heart how that went, but you got to belive we will sign a big time WR soon.

5. Colt Lyerla http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=8&c=1&nid=3853438, Most say his early lean was Oregon, and that seems to still be his #1, but he will be taking visits to Oklahoma, UCLA, Beavs, and Nebraska. He quoted "Im really liking Oregon right now"

6. Marqise Lee, http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=8&c=1&nid=4586256, Visited Oregon vs UW, Havent heard news as of late, but obv he is considering Oregon.

7. Devon Blackmon, http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=8&c=1&nid=4398338, Visited vs UW and LOVED IT HIS VISIT! this short article from ESPN Devon Blackmon (Walnut, Calif./Summit) took his first official visit of the year to Oregon this past weekend and it sounds like the Ducks are in a good spot for the talented athlete.

"It was awesome," Blackmon said. "I had a great trip, it was one of the best experiences of my life. Everything stood out there; it's impossible to pick one or two things that I loved because basically, the whole visit was a highlight for me.

These are just a few updates from some big time players. Feel free to post and ask about someone and I will try and provide all the info I have. GO DUCKS!

here is the part that stood out to me about Wallace the 5 * MLB

"I like USC a lot, they have a lot of tradition and are a linebacker U school. The only thing I didn’t like is how they are in trouble and can’t play in bowl games and stuff. They are up there for me but Oregon is still my top school.”

thanks for that info. I really hope that this staff can convince a package deal of Farmer, Gibson, and Lee to come here. I'm also hoping that somehow Moala ends up being a signing day surprise like Heimuli was.

With so many of our receivers leaving after this season, we need to bring in some guys.

I am at work and can't check, so could someone tell me how many followers on Twitter Blackmon has?

Also, does it scare anyone else how thin and inexperienced the O line is going to be next year?

looks like 614. Not sure how many from Oregon though

It scares me for sure. Last time we broke in a new line with a high profile game did not end up well. Hopefully though these guys will be ready with how many see good action in games, with how many people are rotated in and out so often.

yep although IIRC we have a decent one redshirting in Keanon Lowe. And hopefully (but doubtfull) Diante Jackson comes back. With returning Tuinei and Huff thats a decent Core. Plus I think Barner will line up more as a WR with Seastrunk coming in, and you wanna get him some touches. I also think I see Dontae Williams taking Remene's roll this year.

Tuinei, Huff (All world WR, IMO), Sumler, Blackmon (hopefully) is a GREAT 4 deep, IMO. Only thing I worry about on Offense (considering how good QB and RB is) is the O-Line.

How is our D looking? (including top recruits that could see time)

Crap didnt even think about Sumler for next year. Although he could Redshirt.
Our D-line will be young. Assuming Curtis White plays DE (he was a 5* according to Scout) who is redshirting this year. But Bair and Rowe gone hurts. Also Heimuli might (probably will) leave on a mission. I think it is key to get some big bodies for the trenches.
