I feel the need, the need for DTs!

not good as they probably don't all go to the same school... Gibson is supposed to have Cal and UCLA 1 & 2 & Farmer is supposed to be a USC lean. Of the three I'm most optimistic about Lee

I would love to know how the recruitment process goes from beginning to end.

BIG, fast and smart (3.5gpa). Perfect recruit to steal away from USC!

according to his HS coach, taking an official to USC when they played Oregon helped seal the deal

overall last season's class was probably the highest rated the Ducks have ever had yet this 2011 class has already matched that class's take of the ESPN top 150 players with 4...

just saying

Who and how do they rate these guys?
thats just the rivals site's rankings of overall HS talent... does the link not work for non-subscribers? In making up this list I don't think they have a hard criteria other then subjective opinion of who's size speed and game projects best. Of course it's hardly a definitive list of whats what as some top prospects will never materialize while other no-names excel and go on to NFL careers. Still fun to keep tabs on especially as the Ducks are in on more of the top recruits.

Oh, I was just curious how, say, ESPN comes up with their 150? Are there high school recruiting experts? I know guys like Chad Ford prided themselves on being experts on Euro prospects for the NBA Draft (I'm not sure if he still does that).

Need to update Wallace as a commit on the front page Wheels

Lyerla names Oregon and USC his top two. Also the rumors about grades seem false

Hillsboro's Colt Lyerla named Oregon and USC as his two current favorites. Lyerla is widely regarded as the top player in Oregon high school football right now of course. Word is that Oreogn would like to use him on offense at tight end and USC discussed having him play linebacker for them. He's also got the rest of the world chasing him of course and says Oklahoma, Miami, and Alabama are other schools that interest him. Lyerla says he doesn't have a timeline and will make a decision when it feels right.

The ridiculous rumor that he was having academic issues can also be layed to rest. Lyerla says he's on track to graduate ahead of time and will likely enroll early at whatever school he chooses.

They have regional experts that watch the recruits play a ton. Those guys usually write for whichever website they work for. Recruiting has come a long way in the last 10 years.

Yeah I've noticed.

I saw that, and was about to post it too. Awesome news

Sam Kamp (see attached pics from the UCLA game) will almost certainly redshirt next year, but JC transfer Ebert should step right into a regular role. With Bair and Clark graduating and Heimuli possibly going on a mission, Oregon needs at least one more DT who is ready to play.

Nice

I get that he likes the attention, but he should just commit already
my attitude is whatever floats the HS guys boat. Verbals aren't binding/it's the signature that counts and those aren't accepted for another 2.5 months

Blackmon and Walls are rumored to be silents
