Pulled their offer to McCarthy? I find that hard to believe. McCarthy is a stud and unlike Florida we don't have any 4-5* guys at that position for the cupboard to be overloaded.
Jared Ebert & Ricky Heimuli are both 4* DTs and I'm guessing Hart, Keliikipi, & Remington expect to remain in the rotation next year. 5 capable guys for two spots is a pretty full cupboard IMO. 3 of the guys who have given their verbal (Bair Balducci Daniels) are projected to play inside

maybe it came down to him looking at the depth chart and seeing an unwanted Redshirt year awaited him at Oregon? That shouldn't be the case at UCLA

Whose Cotrell?

Nice to know we have a shot at Armistead, we get him, we get Shaq.

One thing I'm confused is how the Florida colleges get amazing prospects, yet last year they have fallen flat on themselves(UF went 6-6, FSU went 8-4). And Miami did mediorce as well.

What makes them so appealing? UF doesn't have Urban Meyer anymore.

they're located in the middle of maybe the best recruiting area in the country. Kids grew up seeing those Urban Meyer teams win on national TV, so they undoubtedly have young fans everywhere. It's a traditional SEC powerhouse. Those are my best stabs at it :)

Except Urban Meyer is with OSU now, Florida already had its golden age. Better to move to greener pastures than try to hope something can grow from a dying field.

Love it! I got a GREAT feeling that we are going to land Armstead! His parents are practically begging him to go to us. I think if we land Armstead theres a very very very good chance we land Shaq as well!

I know people probably already realize this, but there is a good chance we don't get either Shaq or Armstead. We've put ourselves into good position and that's really the best we can hope for. Like Stomp said earlier, they seem like good kids (no Yuri Wright) and I wish them the best, no matter what happens.

I just looked him up, and I laughed. This is why I'll never use Twitter. What a moron.

And he's going to one of the Pac-12's punching bags. Great.

He's from Don Bosco Prep too! One of my local schools(Mission Viejo) played at their stadium(they got creamed, understandably).

And I was wondering, if the D1 powerhouses are UO, Oklahoma, Bama, etc, what are the powerhouses for D2 and D3? New Hampshire(Chip Kelly's old college?)

i remember when he was here in nh, they were crazy good, but they arent nearly as good since he left

Hey Targus, there's some rumors saying that Educk has a story saying that Shane Brostek has chosen the Ducks. Is this true? Or still just speculation.

Let's get back to some recruiting news.

Cottrell has decided to stick with the Ducks after Texas offered him. This is huge news

Cal fans are claiming that Tedford has been invited to Armstead's announcement yesterday. When it is pointed out that tomorrow is the start of the dead period, and that Tedford already had a visit with Armstead, and that Gus Armstead said it isn't at all true, they claim that Gus is in on the thing, and that the Armsteads didn't know it would be an NCAA violation.

I still think Cal gets him, though.

Thanks for all this info guys! I consider myself a lifelong Duck fan, but very new to the recruiting side of it. When will we find out about these star players where they will choose?

Signing day is Wednesday. Oregon is one of 13 schools that ESPN will have a reporter at for the day. The class is already very good, and if Chip pulls of yet another late surprise, it will be great.

true story right there :)

Any predictions on where Arik chooses? I'm remaining optimistic and saying Oregon.

maybe it's a defense mechanism buttressing me against disappointment, but I'm guessing Cal. Supposedly he was all set to stay local at one point and I have to assume it wasn't just because of Tosh. Now that the dust has settled, what has changed besides Cal getting a more experienced DLine coach?

But really, thats just wild guessing on my part. No doubt, it would be awesome to add him to our grove of Giant Sequoia DLineman. DE is the one of the few spots on Oregon's roster where a talented true Freshman would have legit shot at starting and of course we're a preseason NCG favorite.

I'm going to go on a bike ride and forget about this stuff

Bralon Addison and Chance Allen are apparently on campus right now with their families. And apparently this is an unofficial, which means they had to pay their own money to fly out here to Eugene. This is a great sign.
