The more I watch Lillard, the more I think of a prime Gilbert Arenas with more size and less of a bonehead.

Yes, please.

I will be really disappointed if he's available and we take Waiters or Rivers over him.

Agreed.

If we leave Lillard on the board to take Waiters, I will genuinely be pissed. I know we don't have the full books on all these guys, but this is about as obvious as it gets.

You're just caught up in the hype right now.

I don't get why we'd take Rivers over Lillard. Of Lillard, Waiters, and Rivers, Rivers is the one I most expect to be available at #11.

I wouldn't understand it either. But, reaches happen on draft day all the time and if they really like Lillard they'd have to take him at 6, because if not there's a lot of talk that NO's likes him a lot at #10.

Is there one thing Waiters does better than Lillard? And DW's combine #s are weak in comparison too.

Big workout in Detroit today between John Henson, Meyers Leonard, Tyler Zeller, Jared Sullinger, Perry Jones, Terrence Jones ...

Sounds like Henson was the big standout in the Detroit workout. Mock Draft 9.1 coming in 3, 2, 1 ...

Waiters was in the doghouse for 2 years and is chubby

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Lillard has his head on straight, and also has a massive chip on his shoulder. That's a Portland mindset right there.

Detroit has been rumored to be enamored with Henson since the combine. I think he's a near lock to go there. Philly likes him as well.

It looks like this is shaking out nicely.

1: If Robinson or another top prospect falls to 6, you take them
2: If you like Lillard>Drummond, you take Lillard at 6, and BPA (a big if all else equal) at 11;
3: If you like Drummond>Lillard, you take Drummond at 6 and hope Lillard falls to 11 or take BPA;

I'm seriously curious as to why Waiters is ranked so high. He's efficient. But his raw stats were mediocre, and his physicals are seriously weak. Why should be a top 10 pick? I didn't watch Syracuse at all, so I'm just asking.

I think there's a SF from Slovenia who has gone unmentioned. Probably about it.

How about the fact that he is 3 years younger than Lillard? Lillard has been in college for 4 years....he is 1 year younger than established stars like Westbrook\Rose...He is not going to come in an light the NBA on fire at PG right away IMO, very few PG do.....

Rivers was one of the top 2 HS prospects for a reason, he has fantastic 1v1 skills, can break down a defender and get into the paint and finish, a little unorthodox IMO, but he finishes and\or gets fouled....He will put pressure on defenders, get teams in the penalty...he can be and wants to be that go to guy...High bball IQ...He performed pretty darn well at Duke as an 18yr old freshman, given the cirumstances (lack of talent on Duke, thrust into go to role)...Give him 3 years to develop around better players and he will be a much better NBA player, his game is better suited to the NBA IMO..and he has the ability to be a go to guy and at an age 22, that Lillard is right now....

I don't think he makes it to #11, I wish he would but TOR @ #8 or NO @ #10 look like spots for him to go at....

If POR cannot get one of the Beal, Robinson, MKG or Barnes and that should be priority #1 IMO...then I would more than happy with Rivers or Waiters at #6, b\c it is looking unlikely that either will be there at #11....

Heard Philly has been looking to get to 7 or 8 to get him, from GS or Toronto, with Iggy as the main piece.

Why don't you save all the typing and just say he was a 5 star recruit in high school :)
