I'd rather gamble on one of the bigs rather than Klay. Good shooter, good scorer, but limited upside.
Rookie of the year, or should be in the conversation. He looks like a 16/5/5 guy to me
Klay reminds me of KMart. I'd take a chance on Beal, Lamb, or Rivers over him.
There's a 0% chance he's ROY over Irving.
He's nowhere near 16/5/5 now. And again, limited upside.
I'v been against Rivers for awhile, thinking he shouldn't be a lottery pick because I don't think he will ever be a star or an above average starter, but depending on what the plan is in FA I might take a flyer on him with the 11 pick depending on who is available. I think he might be able to offer something to the Blazers we haven't had since we traded Outlaw. A bench player who can come in and just flat out score.
I agree, I think Rivers is undervalued right now. I think though that after all the predraft workouts and such he may likely end up a top 10 pick.
I have come to the conclusion that POR has to take Austin Rivers....
NBA Pedigree (Doc's son)
Great Size for PG (6'4)
Big Shot Ability and Mentality (NC game)
Good Outside shooter (47.7 2pt - 36.5 3pt)
Great Slasher and finisher
Good Vision
Good Defender
Youth\Room for Improvement (turns 20 in Aug)
Played for a bg time program and played well\clutch against some big time schools\players (NC, FSU, OSU, Kansas & Michigan).
There is A LOT of things adding up there to making him a very good pro player...He was only a freshman and he had a heck of a 1st year....
His situation could remind me of Westbrook, who climbed up the boards late in pre-draft process and wnet to OKC, top 10 pick and has turned out to be amuch better pro (fantastic pro) than he was as a college player...I think Rivers could be very similiar...I like him a lot more than Lillard or Marshall....
So do I.
I honestly think based on what has happened so far that Lamb has the best chance to be an elite level talent of the SG's
He has great size for a PG, but isn't a PG

I like Rivers. What does being a "pure" PG mean anyway. The last one was Kidd/Nash

Prototypical NBA big body for a true center, natural strength and size at 6’11”, 275 lb., elite length with 7’5” wingspan (7.2% height-wingspan differential)
Uncanny athleticism for a big, excellent leaping ability, impressive end-to-end quickness, super mobile
Respectable post defender and shot blocker, great instincts and anticipation, can “body up” and hold ground, imposing presence in paint
Exceptional rebounder due to length, strength, athleticism and motor, cleans offensive glass for good number of put backs
Skilled center, can handle the ball.
Ironically, DraftExpress recently said that Marshall was the best playmaker college basketball has seen since Jason Kidd.
Kendall Marshall is a true PG. It's really getting to the point in the league that true PG's aren't needed though.
Drummond/Marshall draft.
I could get behind this.
and marshall late teens, or so my source says
No direct number? They are slipping

I think he's going to be one this year who increases his draft stock the most.
I would say it's a guy who looks to pass or run an offense first and only scores out of necessity or to keep a defense honest ... It also has a lot to do with hard to quantify things like leadership, vision, on target passing, understanding how and who to setup, etc.
