With the obligatory "things can change" attached, it's not sounding as if Kansas F Thomas Robinson will be working out for the Kings (No. 5)

Yeah, that pairing does bring a bit of concern considering how productive it was last year. But, they didn't have a team leader.

Both have big question marks around them, but both have a ton of upside too. Lamb at his best can look like a more athletic Rip Hamilton, which wouldn't be a bad thing. Or maybe a longer Kevin Martin, who can play defense. I would take either one of those.

Maybe they both could channel the spirit of another "no motor" sliding draft prospect out of UConn (Uncle Cliffy).

Here's to hoping he has a brilliant workout!

That's one of a million things that need to line up for T-Rob to slide to #6.

I honestly think if Robinson gets past the wiz at #3, we could move up to #4 and get him Cleveland doesn't need a 4, and dealing #6 and #11 for Robinson and #24 would be a great move. Cleveland really needs wing help and a true center, so Robinson makes no sense. Assuming the draft plays out with Davis, Barnes, Beal. Portland would select Robinson, Sac MKG, leaving Cleveland with Drummond at #6 and someone like Ross or Rivers or whatever at #11
 
Interesting coment from Ross about Rivers....hard to keep in front of you, really quick step can get by you in a flash...something like that....

I imagine Cleveland would be happy with MKG slipping to them at 4. If they're not taking Robinson, I don't really think Sacramento would either, at 5, if they had the choice of Drummond or MKG. I think if yourr scenario played out, we could/should just stay at 6 and grab Robinson.

My fear would be another team trading up to get him. No way Robinson gets past Sacramento's pick. He is not working out with them bTW

I doubt Cleveland would trade with anyone else other than us, there's a drop off after our pick, they can't afford that. Maybe someone else trades up to 5 for him. I'd take that risk.

I really want him at 11. I know his shooting percentage was not the best last year, but I Like his game. But I admit part of the lure is his pedigree. Doc was such a smart player and hard worker that you think Austin will be the same. (But with more talent)
 
Haynes is convinced that Rivers will be a PG in the NBA.

I have a hard time picturing it because he plays with total blinders on -- Score first, score second.
 
I'm having a hard time seeing it too, but if he could make the transition it would be his best chance for success. He is a short 2. He measure okay, but he has a long neck, so I'm not sure he plays like it. He certainly has good court vision (for his own purposes) so you would think he might be able to convert over. He still seems like too much of a question mark at 11 when you have players that have proven more available.
 
Steve Kyler says the Raptors are desperate for Dion Waiters. He's their guy if he's there.

And I seriously doubt he will. :devilwink:

Not in the least.

Holding a secret workout of one of the top prospects leads me more to believe that Portland is trying to move up than expecting someone to fall into their laps. Aside from maybe Drummond, I would expect any of the general consensus top-6 players available at #6 will be taken by Portland, regardless of whether or not we've worked them out. So it makes more sense to have a secret workout with someone you're potentially moving up to draft.

I don't think Cho is that cunning. He wouldn't take Beal just to force WAS' hand.

Knowing cleveland liked Beal, and likely Washington, maybe it allows Cho to get more value from Cleveland to trade from 4 to 2.

Nice handle, very good ability to find open space to shoot, and he can shoot from anywhere. Nice high release. Also, a good defender with long arms.

Downside? Can take the open shot instead of driving for a better one (185 lbs); Questionable motor and no leadership skills.

If he develops well he could be like a Rip Hamilton or Kevin Martin, who can also play defense. If he doesn't develop or goes backward he is Gerald Green (okay, not really, but he could have issues).
