Kings leaking they are very interested in taking Lillard at #5.

Assuming they think Portland will bite and move up a spot adding another asset to Sac, or maybe they really like him? Either way, I think Portland should call their bluff

If Robinson is there at #4, I think Portland should start having talks with both Cleveland and Sacramento
 
Yeah, I agree with you...I would certainly not trade up for Lillard...let them take him and laugh all the way as you draft Robinson...but it probably could be SAC gauging POR interest in trading up and getting some additional assets, which I think POR should do, provided it is understood that POR will be taking whomever slips there...be it Robinson, Barnes or MKG....

Those guys are worth trading up for and paying a small price...Lillard is not IMO...

I'd give up the 6th pick for Smith in a second. Even without the extension. He would be sick as a SF/PF for half the time. LA could play PF/C for half the time, and Nic could play SG/SF for half the time.
 
I wouldn't give up #6 without the extension, but I would give up #11 without it. If there were a way to all but guarantee an extension then he would be worth the 6th pick easily.


#6 and Wes for Smoove would still keep us with around 11 million or so in cap space, assuming we renounced all FA's except Batum and stretched Williams.
 
Why does ATL continue to shop him? Dumping him for a pick some of you say will not give us an allstar?
Attitude and poor jump shot?
 
So we think Lillard AND Barnes are moving into the top 5? Throw in Drummond too and I will be a VERY happy camper.

I don't think anyone said that.

Barnes has been mentioned as a lock for both Charlotte and Cleveland, so I think there is a good chance he goes to one of them. Lillard's name has been bounced around in Sac. is all

I'd love JSmoove, but - assuming we can hang onto JJ - I see him as being a great pairing next to LA at the 5. Obviously he's not your traditional center, but he's a great help defender and I think LA is a good on-ball defender. You could play Aldridge on the team's best scorer and let Smith roam/guard their #2 big man (which, for most NBA teams isn't exactly an offensive threat), and while he's no Dan Majerle, if you're playing Smith at 5, he WOULD have the ability to stretch the defense and either drive or pull opposing centers out of the middle with his decent mid-range jumper.
 
If we can turn Wes/6/11 into Smith, Dragic, and Drummond (or Leonard), I think most here would throw parades for Olshey.

Rice has always been anti Drummond way before even the draft lottery. His son coaches Rutgers so he watches a lot of Big East ball, so I think his anti stance is genuine.
 
Rice may be correct. Drummond has only shown to this point that his game fades the better the competition gets. The fade started in his Jr. year when he transferred to a better basketball school. It's not just one bad year, but three poor years at two different schools.

Right now I'm most interested in guys with the killer instinct. Robinson would be great. Lillard has a bit of that. Don't see it so much in Beal or Barnes. MKG has it at game time, but I'm not sure I can live with his limited offense. Sounds like Waiters has it. Rivers has the mind set, but I'm not sure he has the skill set to back it up--yet.

If Portland could swap pick with Sac - that would be great. Trade S.Williams (1yr $3mill) for Outlaw (3yr @ $3mill each).
Portland picks up either MKG or Robinson....

Well, that sounds like there may be someone above Lillard who they are interested in. If at 3, then you might think it would be Beal, MKG or Drummond.
