There would obviously have to be more to this for all parties. It's why I suggest a 3-team deal would be best.

I was just building off my comment that Sacto and Portland have been talking, and there is some reason for the two teams to try to consummate a deal.
 
Still just a crazy draft. Beal, Barnes, Robinson, and MKG could all go anywhere from 2-5, Drummond could go anywhere from 2-11, and Lillard could go anywhere from 6-14.

Outside of Davis, nothing is settled according to the experts. Should be a great draft to watch, and with so much uncertainty, teams will probably be trading up to get players that they want, because nobody can get a read outside of the #1 pick.
 
I think we'll see a lot of the Jamison/Carter-type trades, where someone is picked and then they listen to offers from people who want the player they took.

And not just in the lotto, but in places where you say "holy cow! I've got the 23 pick and three guys I like are available!"

Only way Lillard can go at 14 is if Portland doesn't have the #11. Even then, I can't see him even sliding to #11 at this point.

I just saw that Wroten averaged 3.7 assists and 3.8 turnovers last year.. And he can't shoot at all.. How is he a good prospect?

I love 1/3 of his game--it's great. I don't want him anywhere near the Blazers.
 
Warriors GM Bob Myers said he had trade discussions about moving up from No. 7 as recently as Thursday and joked during a one-hour group interview with local media that were making him miss out on potential deals. "We’ve showed that we’re not afraid to move if we like what’s presented. We’re open to moving the pick and we’re open to keeping the pick. ... I’m not trying to be equivocal in my answer, but that’s where we are. It’s uncertain right now."

just because someone doesn't catch your passes doesn't make you bad.

just because someone doesn't make the layup doesn't mean your pass sucked.

He's a good prospect because he's lightning-fast, 6'6, a "true" PG and plays hellacious D. He's not a lotto pick b/c he can't go right or shoot (yet?).

I'm just not sure how a "true" PG averages 3.7apg and 3.8topg.

You're right, but good "true" PGs are supposed to make passes their teammates can catch and score off of. He obviously isn't very good at that.

For comparison, Lillard averaged 4 assists with 2.3 turnovers with players who were presumably worse at catching the passes and making layups.

Wroten seems like a SG who can't shoot worth a damn. If his only great skill is driving and finishing strong he could eventually be a decent bench player I guess, but he needs a jump shot. He doesn't seem like anything special.
 
I like Wroten because what comes natural to him are skills that other players can't learn. His size, first step, herky-jerky left hand and hops aren't 'learned' abilities, like say improving a jumper and cutting down on turnovers.

I'm not saying I don't like him, I just don't like him in the first round. If we somehow got a late first round pick there are too many guys I'd like over him. To me he's a second round talent.

He came out too early. He could be top half of the lotto guy if he came back another year and cleaned up his game a bit. That said, if I'm a GM and I have a pick in the late 20's and Wroten's around, I'm picking him in a quick second.

I would, I think Wroten could be an above average starter in a couple of years if he puts the work in to fix his shot and improve his passing (stop passing into traffic so much).
 
Wroten, and it's not close. The guy is basically a 6'6 Rondo if he never improves his shot at all. At 18, he's got some time to grow.
 
Tim Kawakami: If the Warriors draft a guard at 7, Brandon Roy probably wouldn't be a great fit. If GSWs draft a big guy then Roy could be interesting. 3 minutes ago

Rondo's assist and turnover numbers in college were much better, his shot also wasn't nearly as bad as Wroten's. But perhaps his size can make up for it. I see Wroten having a tough time getting past people when they can easily play 5+ feet off him.

I don't see the Rondo comparison except that they aren't good shooters.
