Don't you think with coaching and hanging with LMA, that PJIII could learn to bang more? LMA had the same issues and he came around. PJIII will have a total restart when he enters the NBA. I'm not sure what he thinks he is now matters.

He doesn't seem to have the desire to do it. That's my only fear.


LA's issues weren't desire as much as system. Texas and Nate both had him on the high post, and not the low post. LA simply needed to learn to play down there

I'd guess Rockets, Blazers and Warriors will make some type of offer for Dwight. Nets want him, but have nothing to offer until 2013.

Definitely. Though with 2 lotto picks, probably the easiest package to put together if new GM wants to build from ground up. And coming from OKC, I woul dimagine his direction is different than previous Orlando GM, wanting veteran pieces to compete now. He knows better than that.

Damian Lillard – Today’s NBA is a point guard’s game, and Lillard is exactly the kind of point guard that has big-time success on this level. He’s quick, relatively big and about as offensively gifted as any player in the entire draft. Teams like Portland, Toronto and New Orleans have major needs for a player exactly like him, and if he ends up with one of those franchises he’ll take off very quickly. If he ends up somewhere as a backup, don’t expect him to be a backup for long.

Austin Rivers – What we know about Rivers, other than the fact that he’s one of the most charismatic players to enter the league in a really, really long time, is that he’s one heck of a scorer and knows it. Confidence is not this kid’s issue, nor is the isolation game, which should make him an even more deadly offensive weapon at the NBA level. He also measured about an inch taller at the combine than teams expected, which means he’s not as undersized a two guard as originally considered. Rivers already carries himself like a star, which isn’t surprising considering he grew up around NBA basketball, thrived at one of the top college hoops programs in the country and now looks like lottery pick just waiting to happen. He’s got it in him, but there are some consistency issues he’ll need to overcome to be great on the NBA level. Quite a few teams are ready to bet big money that he’ll be just fine.

Roll players or worse

Andre Drummond – Physically, nobody is second-guessing Drummond as an NBA prospect. He’s huge, has a nose for shot-blocking and is definitely strong enough physically to play at a higher level. The problem with Drummond has always been his drive. He’s not a particularly assertive player, and that combined with his overall rawness as an offensive player and struggles as a defensive rebounder make him look like a big man bust like so many lottery picks before him. He’s probably not Hasheem Thabeet bad, despite cruel comparisons from some scouts, but he’s also nowhere near Dwight Howard.

I wouldn't do that deal at all....Lowry has too many red flags...injuries, blasting his coach, off court incidents....Not to mention that he isn't an all star claiber player IMO...stay away from him....
 
Reportedly the Warriors are looking at Meyers Leonard for 7, so the mock draft that has Portland taking him at 11 is ... about as inaccurate as all of them these days.

That would be so awesome if they took the big white stiff so a real player could fall to us at 11

You know I think Rivers is geting overly criticized for his inefficient play as a 18-19yr freshman at Duke....where IMO he was asked to bear way more burden than a freshman should....and he did not have a lot of help....But he still put up pretty damm good numbers...and you have to remember that he is 19yrs old, that is 3 years younger than a guy like Lillard who was a 4th year? junior....What would Rivers have looked like as a Junior at Duke? Would he still has been as inefficient? Given his pedigree and IQ, I highly doubt that would be the case.....

You know I thought there was a telling comment by Terrance Ross in an interview he had while he was here, where he basically stated that Rivers was incredibly hard to keep in front of you (while defending) b\c he has a variety of moves to break you down...THAT will transition to the NBA very well IMO...I think his game is better suited to the NBA than college, and he is the type of guy who will greatly effect games by his ability to break defenses down, get to the line and get defenders into the penalty\foul trouble....and POR certainly could use a player like that....

at #6? Maybe? I wouldn't be overly dissapointed with that pick, would LOVE it at #11, but he may not be there....

Exhaustion setting in amongst many prospects from the extensive travel for NBA workouts. Last few are critical but what do they really mean?
 
ugh dx has us taking lillard and leonard, maybe the two biggest potential busts in the draft, would almost be happier with marshall and sullinger

I would be okay with that. Zeller isn't super sexy, but I think he is underrated. The guy can do a lot of things really well. He averaged almost 10 reb/game playing next to Henson. He also scored well, has good hands and runs the floor very well. I would hope if they draft him the next coach takes better advantage of the speed of Aldridge, Batum and Zeller on the break.

If 11 was Leonard, I would be okay with that too. He represents higher risk/higher reward.

Zeller would absolutely piss me off in the lottery. Our team is light years away from needing Joel Przybilla with knees.
