Olshey said decision to use both picks is reflection of offers received for the picks and how much Blazers value who they can get in draft

God I hope that is true

Jason Quick ‏@jwquick
Olshey also added, "Of course, I could go into my office and have three offers waiting ..." but as of today, he says Blazers will use picks

Joe Freeman ‏@BlazerFreeman
#Blazers GM Neil Olshey said the team has agreed to a new multiyear contract with salary cap guru/scout Joe Cronin. Old deal expires 6/30.

Good news IMO

Olshey said weekend meeting with Joel Freeland went well and both sides expressed interest in him joining Blazers for upcoming season

#Bucks have made draft-wk trades 4 yrs in a row. How about 5? GM John Hammond tells SN: "We’re anticipating that is not going to happen."

No he would not have been. The only reason he is slipping is because of his health. They would have seen that last year as well, No?

I think Greg Oden is why Sullinger is dropping to the second round. Just like Oden would have dropped to the second round if we knew then what we know now.

Continue to hear Jazz are open to moving into first round of #NBA draft, listening to offers, making calls, etc.

Would you pick up Sullinger with a pick in the 20's?

Would be intriguing....

Lot of other guys I like around there too though...

I'd seriously need two picks in the 20's before I take Sullinger with the latter of the two.

Dan Woike: So Olshey is saying POR won't be dealing picks (as of now). Would he swap Wes Mathhews and No. 11 to LAC for Bledsoe and Gomes? Would LAC? 3 minutes ago

My response: Uh, no. Why not? Well, he no longer works for the Clips. Dur.

Joe Freeman: Olshey said his intentions — as of right now — are to keep both of the #Blazers lottery picks (6, 11) in Thursday's draft. 3 minutes ago

Did they ask about potentially adding more picks to our draft?

He had better not do that

I would not mind getting Bledsoe, but for Wes & the #11.....I don't think so...

GOOD NEWS!

Steve Luhm: Damian Lillard looks like he will be the 8th player from a Utah school to be taken in the lottery since 1993. The others are ... 2 minutes ago

Steve Luhm: ... Fredette (2010), Bogut (2005), Araujo (2004), Andre Miller (1999), Michael Doleac (1998), Van Horn (1997) and Shawn Bradley (1993) 1 minute ago

Talk about curbing one's enthusiasm.

Again, using my white players in the NBA suck method.

Andre Miller 17.8 career per

All the others are either white or Cuban, so they don't count

Robinson, Rivers, Lillard are the guys I think have not only the potential skill level, but also the personality to do it.....At least at some point

It's not all that far fetched to land Lillard at 6 and Rivers at 11, or possibly swing a small trade to move up a couple spots to get Rivers with the 2nd pick. If those two have among the best chances of any in the draft of becoming true leaders (with the skill level to go along with it), why not pursue both? At the very least, you've got a young backcourt to build around for the hopeful future. Best case scenario, you end up with a Dumars/Thomas type combo.

I was kidding. All of the other guys were big white guys with reps for being soft. Jury's still out on Jimmer.

I wouldn't be upset with this. Still not quite sure why some here are so down on Rivers. But I'm not on the same level with the "experts" on this board.

Nathan Begley: I wonder who Blazer fans are going to get mad at Neil Oshey for passing on. 2 minutes ago

The big concern is so far he has shown little interest or ability in sharing the ball. If he can overcome that, then you just have to get his shooting percentage up a bit.
