Were they ever announced? It's June!

Kind of weird. Usually comes out around MVP announcement.

Aldridge second team? Lillard possibly 3rd team?

Some of the major sponsors must not have liked how the initial voting played out. Ballots are being recast...

I believe they said they were announcing it before the finals this year. I see LMA on the third team and Lillard not on there but will have gotten a few votes for 3rd team.

I'll be shocked if Lillard makes it, very unlikely.

Aldridge may not make it, though yes he has a real chance; James/Durant are a lock for the 1st team. Griffin 2nd. So Aldridge will have to beat out all but two of Melo/Dirk/George/Love/Ibaka/Duncan/Leonard. Seems like a Spur should be on an award somewhere but their winning ways don't lend themselves to individual glory. Makes me question what good any of the awards are really. I don't see the Spurs being better if you remove Duncan and put in one of those other names; not to mention they had the best record in the league.

Its true there system doesn't but thats because his core players cannot sustain those minutes and stay injury free. Even Parker who is only 32 has problems with his ankles every year and plays under 30m, Duncan/Ginboli wouldn't hold up for 30-35m a night all season long. The only player on their team in a position to get an all-NBA award is Leonard but he isn't nearly aggressive enough to get one this early in his career.
How I see the teams forward positions since you have to have a center is
James/Durant
Griffin/Love
LMA/Melo
but thats just me, I think it really come down to LMA over George/Dirk/Al Jefferson

LMA had a better season than Dirk, Leonard, and Duncan. Parker will make it for the Spurs. If a Top 8 scorer and Top 7 rebounder for a 54-win team doesn't make an All-NBA team, the award isn't worth wiping my ass with, is it?

Even more impressive, LMA was a Top 5 scorer and a Top 5 rebounder in the postseason. I realize that isn't considered, but it's still impressive.

First team will be:

2/3 of Curry, Paul, Harden
Lebron and Durant
Noah

Second team: likely
1/3 Curry, Paul, Harden
Wall
Love
Griffin
Howard

3rd team: this is the unknown
Guard Dragic, Lillard, Irving, Parker, George, Lowry
Forward George, Dirk, Melo, LA, Davis
C Jefferson or Cousins

It is possible that Lillard and Aldrige both make it or both miss. Where Paul George ends up will likely bump one of them out.

The is the first time in a couple years I remember the Media holding the "superstar"/Olympic players to a higher standard.
Melo had a good season but didn't get let off the hook for missing the playoffs.
Love took heat and some are starting to question him like people should.
George started out strong but he took heat a long with Hibbert for that teams fall off late.
Harden is still considered the best 2 in the league but he took heat for taking plays off.(and even more for the playoffs)

Griffin got love especially when CPS went down.
Aldridge got a ton of love pre all-star break/injury and for his play in the playoffs.

Really imo the only two locks @ the PF position are Griffin and Aldridge. Rest could honestly come from the SF position.

I don't think Lillard makes it because everyone saw the team fall off when Aldridge was out.
But if Aldridge misses those games next year(I doubt it) Lillard will be more ready to take charge.
Which will = an all nba team award for him.

Aldridge and Lillard are the first Blazers to be named All-NBA in the same year since Lucas and Walton in 1977-78.

They really rewarded winning this year

It's hard to argue with any of those teams. It's also nice seeing Carmelo Anthony didn't make any of the teams, because he didn't deserve it.

Except for Kevin Love's yearly non-winning season.

That couldnt be helped because the media loves Love and he put up pretty insane stats. I was more thinking of Melo when I wrote that.

Really cool that Dame made it. I was skeptical that he'd get the nod.

One player - ONE - on the 2nd team made it farther than the Blazers. Two, if you count Blake Griffin going 6 games against OKC instead of 5 against SA.

:MARIS61:

Seriously, though, it's really cool to see how much Robin Lopez has made LA and Dame better. :ghoti:

Love on a lottery team making the 2nd team. Ridiculous.

11 of the 15 players are from the Western Conference

Thats eye opening. If you were the fifth best player in the entire EC you werent good enough to even make the third All NBA team

If Westbrook doesn't miss half the season, one of Lillard or Dragic don't make 3rd-team. Not that it really matters, since Westbrook missed almost half of the season.

Some of these guys like Love needs to go east to balance it out.

Westbrook had a nice tweet saying "LOL!" After the teams were announced. Dont think he was happy about missing lol
