Virginia DLineman Wyatt Teller puts Oregon in his early top 5

the quality of the video in his Youtube highlights is pretty herky jerky or I'd post it too

Nico Falah commits in the next 5 minutes.. I see on his twitter he has Oregon, UCLA, and USC as his last three.. I'm guessing its more between the other two than us though.

Nico is a Trojan!

I bet their last two spots to make 15 are for Vanderdoes and Redfield.....

Probation is a WONDERFUL THING! #2 recruiting class now!

SoCal CB and USC commit Chris Hawkins was just offered by Oregon according to Adam Gorney of rivals. He was at The Opening...

They can take 18, not 15. Three early entry from next year's class (when they can do the same from the year after that...)

I'm pretty sure the NCAA didn't put these guys on probation so they could get the top class in the nation!

Whelp.

Well it was nice while it lasted.

So what targets do we have left? I know Quick loves us but can we pull him from Kentucky? :V

USC has the best class top to bottom they've ever pulled!

Defense... Cravens, Hutchings, Vanderdoes and Bigelow... Their entire defense has new anchor pieces!
Offense... Browne, Isaac, Massington, Falah
Not only do they have the nations best QB and running back they now have guards to protect them!

USC just told Oregon "GO FUCK YOURSELVES" stay out of our state across the board!

I think this is a good thing for Oregon.... this total ass kicking in recruiting has made my point very clear! It's time for some new recruiters for the Ducks, cause who we have isn't cutting it with the elite high school players anymore...

We better make a statement to USC this year in LA or I fear USC will be the Pac-12 monsters again like in the Caroll era and the Ducks will be outside looking in.

No matter who we pull at this point the Ducks got worked this year in recruiting and I've got to believe Chip nor Phil is happy about this!

Everyone knows that Vanderdoes and Hutchings were our top wish list players and we spent a ton of time trying to recruit them. I'd say Lamo and crew paid us back quite nicely this year for the Mamba last year!

Redfield Rises at USC

Gerard Martinez
USCFootball.com

Mission Viejo (Calif.) four-star safety Max Redfield came to the Rising Stars Camp Tuesday, saw the competition, and kicked its butt. Par for the course as Redfield teamed up with USC five-star committed safety Su'a Cravens to make an iron curtain of pass coverage.

Let's hope Redfield isn't one of their final pieces! Just imagine Bigelow one side, Vanderdoes on the other side of the Dline with Hutchings rovering and Cravens and Redfield pinning down the deep ball.

Ouch! Kinda makes ya wonder why Redfield wouldn't got there with all the talent they've already surrounded him with!

Methinks that with Cravens coming in, and with that one dude whose coming back to USC(he was a safety)...

Oregon may get Redfield because he might want playing time.

And besides, USC has like, 3 more spots left. I think they're gonna ship hard of Monty Adam to beef up their Front D-line. And that will add another 5star to their class :V.

Hey, at least Ricky-Seals Jones has Oregon in his top 5! Texas so far has been cruel to him(death threats) and he would get to play basketball with AA(and the BB team is good right?) and play in a stellar offense. And he might just bring Quick with him too :V

USC has turned into the Miami Heat of college football this year! What's the best player at every position in high school worth anyway?

Luckily their coaching is absolute shit, eh? Not too worried. They always get these guys. We seem to be doing just fine...

rivals has them ranked #2 right now. In 4 of the last 10 years they've had the Trojans ranked #1 following signing day

blah blah blah

3 of Oregon's top 4 rated recruiting classes in the history of the program have been in the past 3 years. That higher rated talent is just starting to integrate into a team that dominated posting the 2nd best record in college football (to Bama) over the past 3 seasons. A bandwagon fan repeatedly calling for coach's heads based on how things are going recruiting wise is sort of cute & ignorable like a child throwing a temper tantrum. Oregon was more then holding their own vs Pete Carroll's primadonnas before they went on probation. USC's talent continues at a very high level but Oregon has closed that perceived gap considerably. I'm expecting more of the same... more top rated classes going to USC, more great kids coming to Oregon, more domination of the Pac 12 by Chip and crew, and more ridiculous blather from our chatsite's Sly Poker Dog. I crack up every time you say "we"

I will agree there.. plus its not even signing day.. usually towards the end of the season we pull in a bunch of good kids.. Honestly.. I want to get Quessenberry and Redfield more than anyone.. our O-Line concerned me the most.. Our D-Line got a bunch of good recruits last year. but look at our O-Line against elite SEC defenses... didn't do as well.

the O-Line did get 5 good sized & well regarded prospects the year prior and have 2 more of the same verbaled this year. Of course they're looking to add more talent, but there really isn't a position with anything close to having a glaring need of shoring up. 2013 commits will probably Redshirt.

btw... here's a quote from Florida DT Jaynard Bostwick via rivals. "I plan to use all of my official visits," Bostwick said. "I know I will definitely go to Oregon but I haven't set the date yet. I know I am going though."

Well after they grab Redfield and Hargreaves don't worry they'll be #1 again. That said..... even the USC fans are saying this is the best class they've ever pulled. Once again I'm sure Stomp you no more than their alumni too!

Lashing out again Stomp to someone who once again didn't address you? Shocker! As for a troll, is that someone who attacks posters for no reason because their opinions differ and seeks them out every time they post? I thought that was a STOMP? See ya learn something more ironic every day!

Perhaps you like to rage on Zalsa who actually is a Trojan fan and created their board?

A bandwagon fan repeatedly calling for coach's heads based on how things are going is sort of cute like a child throwing a temper tantrum.

What makes me a "bandwagon fan"? Not posting 6 thousand times on this board, because I went to UofO, that's where the "we" comes from, do you really think I'd claim you? Even you're not that narcissistic!

I find it interesting that you wont address the fact we didn't pull Vanderdoes and Hutchings? Two players that were our main targets... stated numerous times by our recruiters.... so if we are giving our recruiters a grade what would you give them? Being they went to our main rivals!

So we closed the gap this year huh? We meaning Duck alumni, not "we" sportstwo lifer blow hard like yourself!

Their talent is at an epic level this year, they've retooled their offense and defense while being on probation and taken every high profile recruit Oregon wanted in doing so... Being a Duck I can say WE got worked this year and if you were "Realistic" you'd say that too. Hell! Everyone in the country is saying it! Just so we are clear... after winning the Rose Bowl and 3 straigh Pac-12 championships we couldn't secure more than 1 five star in the top 100..... and he lives in Aloha.... I'd say that to date it's a failure and unless you're planning the Stomp Combine to invent some stars for talent, the top 100 board looks pretty well partnered up.

If ridiculous blather means saying what Bleachers and Rivals said numerous times that the Ducks needed to secure Vanderdous to have a successful recruiting class than I guess you're the king blithering idiot who subscribed to those sites, payed for it, and quotes it here like an expert daily! So which one is it Stomp?

So keep calling people names, and trying to give them mental work ups to make yourself avoid the truth that we need better recruiters here. How do we know this? We aren't even in the top 25 recruiting classes in the nation right now!!!! We're ranked #4 in the country. That should say something to you!

If we want to win the national championship our recruiting has to attract top talent. If you want to lose to USC every year and go to a good not great bowl game then stay par for this course. I don't think many Duck fans would choose your apathetic path Stomp.... but to each duck his own. But I'm sure you speak for all the Duck Pond or atleast you'll brag like you do!

This kid comes from Port St. Lucie.... I know this area well! My mom was the head school psych there for years... this place has 30 something gangs in a 20 mile radius.... no wonder this kid wants to check out Eugene. It will be a culture shock for him though. It certainly would take some of the Vanderdoes sting away!

Since I have just gotten into the whole recruiting thing, I haven't been around the block, but I will admit the Trojans are pulling in great talent.

I asked for a USC forum for one, and two I like College football and a whole bunch of teams, like Michigan(my dad grew up there), Florida State, TCU, USC, Utah, Oregon, Hawaii, I just love College football in general and this forum was the better of ones I could find. And besides, you don't see me going on a hate parade whenever something goes wrong :V

Oh hey, there's this team called Utah in 2008, and their recruiting classes from like, 2005 onward? 2 and 3 stars. This was a team that wiped the floor with Alabama and could have made Tebow cry home to Gainesville(again) where they would quote what he said and put it on a placque with diamonds(again).

Recruiting is one big phase yes, but it's not of the end of the world. Look at FSU, they choke even with awesome recruiting. Same with Oklahoma.

And besides, we all know that USC may fall into a trap game, probably against the Utes since they maybe playing in snow and it will be the game to decide the south.

First UTAH that year played no one all year to get to that game and almost lost to the Beavers during the regular season... Throw them into the Pac-12 like today and their a bottom dweller, put them in the SEC and they don't make the koolaid bowl!

As for Oklahoma they have a handful of national championships more than Texas and even FSU has won the banner. And speaking of FSU if they had Chip Kelly they'd be slapping USC around for sport. FSU biggest weakness forever is they have a great defense and no offense to be found. It's not the recruiting there it's the coaching!! So top recruits year after year give you peace of mind especially when you're playing in conferences where your players can be injured week to week like the SEC and Pac-12. That's why having two or three 5 * in a row at each position is a luxury, because then the talent drop off isn't vastly different. If UTAh loses a starter they feel it the next weekend. When Oregon loses LMJ we plug in Barner and DAT and we may even have more yards....

Recruiting is one big phase yes

As I've said before this is the recruiting thread, if you want to talk coaches, 3-4's, 4-3's, spreads, lines and slants I'd be more than happy to discuss that on another thread.

Back to recruiting....

If you want your program to get better you must be honest about it. Something about the approach our recruiters are taking isn't sealing the deals with high profile players on a "CONSISTENT" basis. "WE" as in Ducks have the coaching, the fans, the alumni, the marketing, the facilities, now it's time to fix this piece. With every great team you must continue to evaluate and grow if you want to stay the best.

Posters like Stomp will have you believe that the old way works, it doesn't! That's why teams are now paying bad line coaches half a million a year to "recruit". That's why Maryland is hiring a PR firm to give their school exposure.

College football is big business, Phil isn't investing millions into the Ducks for us to lose to USC yearly and make the steak and chips bowl. This I know for a fact!

Oregon is fighting USC's tradition, private school advantages, weather and NFL exposure. We need great not par recruiters to achieve that!

On a side note the one elephant in the room that really needs to be addressed is Oregon High School Football! It's a joke! It's time for Oregon to create some powerhouse football teams, in the east coast where I grew up we had high school prep schools that were basically feeder programs to ACC and SEC schools. FUMA, HARGRAVE, Woodberry Forest, Collegiate, Oak Hill and so on.....

Oregon needs some of these.... We need to stop picking out of Cali and Texas and groom our own studs.... Think Jesuit on steroids where the Ducks get the first call on kids much the way De La Salle calls USC first....

I want other coaches coming to Oregon begging to get a crack at our talent where we pull a USC and say NOPE it all stays with the Ducks!

Anyway......Hope that makes it more clear!

If we got Ricky Seals-Jones, Quessenberry, Redfield and Luke I would be happy with this class.. Thats 7 4*'s and 1 5* (according to 247) Damn good class in my opinion!

Also, we recruit for a system. As such, sometimes our top recruits fit the system better than a 5 star. USC is recruiting great, but I'm not overly concerned. We coach kids up very well.

In some ways I understand what you're saying ,Chip a crew may not want to deal with the egos that go with many of these 5* attention addicts, yet as we cleary saw with DAT and COLT, these boys can play and within our system quite nicely!

One of my concerns has been we continue to draft TE's but never use them as regular foundation pieces in our offense. Guys like French are being moved to defense and I'm concerned the Pharoah's of the world will be bored waiting to see the ball.... what we need are O line, DT's, CB's and LB's. It doesn't matter if we have Green, Tyner, Marshall and Wilson if we don't have big evils to create holes for them in the trenches.

I know facts and that you avoid them when they don't fit with your emotional Chicken Little views. Wailing that all is lost because your dreamboat HS recruit went elsewhere is just silly and will be mocked even on shitholes like OLive. Oregon's program doesn't rise or fall because of just one player.

Lashing out again Stomp to someone who once again didn't address you? Shocker! As for a troll, is that someone who attacks posters for no reason because their opinions differ and seeks them out every time they post? I thought that was a STOMP? See ya learn something more ironic every day!

Good grief you're a clueless Sly Poker Dogg. An internet troll is someone who throws out ridiculous insulting inflammatory BS on a message board begging for a response. Repeated claims that you know better then the coach of the PAC 12's three time defending champs and suggesting that he and/or his staff should be replaced easily qualifies as trollish behavior. That or idiotic... your pick

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet)

I find it interesting that you wont address the fact we didn't pull Vanderdoes and Hutchings? Two players that were our main targets... stated numerous times by our recruiters.... so if we are giving our recruiters a grade what would you give them? Being they went to our main rivals!

I bet you can't link a single one of these statements by Oregon's recruiters. Why? Kelly and the other coaches/recruiters don't talk about individual recruits to the press let alone say who their main targets are. More BS from this sites main source of it.

How do I feel about losing out on Vanderdoes and Hutchins to USC? Pretty similar to how I felt about them landing George Uko, Greg Townsend Jr., Lamar Dawson & Nelson Agholor who I hoped for in recent years past. I'm following recruiting in full knowledge that Oregon isn't going to get everyone they go after but, loving seeing the ground they're gaining overall. They've been kicking the conference's butt with recruits rated a lot lower then the ones they've pulled the last few seasons and I'm excited to see how these bigger/faster (better?) new Ducks fare. For sure USC is looking good for the all important recruiting National Championship trophy.

btw... I find it interesting how you always avoid the many facts I mention & links I provide that debunk your BS and go straight into whining about how insulted you are.

If ridiculous blather means saying what Bleachers and Rivals said numerous times that the Ducks needed to secure Vanderdous to have a successful recruiting class than I guess you're the king blithering idiot who subscribed to those sites, payed for it, and quotes it here like an expert daily! So which one is it Stomp?

 siting Bleachers  As for Rivals, as usual you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. On the Oregon rivals site there is a similar Chicken Little poster who is the laughingstock of the entire board. You really should join and gain some perspective... or wait a minute, is that rivals poster everyone is laughing at you?

So keep calling people names, and trying to give them mental work ups to make yourself avoid the truth that we need better recruiters here. How do we know this? We aren't even in the top 25 recruiting classes in the nation right now!!!! We're ranked #4 in the country. That should say something to you!

what it says to me is that you don't pay attention to history as things are going much the same as they have the last couple years. I'm going to enjoy the recruiting ride and expect that Oregon will again pull a great class.

UO almost won a National Championship with a players ranked a lot lower then the one's they're pulling now. That you think you're on the right side of the fan masses with your fire Kelly and Crew dilutions is precious... keep sharing the noledge/laughs

while this is of course a generalization, which players would you rather have on the team? 22 year old 5th year team first Seniors who were *3s coming out of HS or 20 year old primadonna former HS *5s Juniors with their eyes fixated on their draft prospects? I can recall CE Keiser/Bo Thran types winning the day vs the Everson Griffens of the world pretty vividly

For the reading impaired, I'm not saying/implying Oregon shouldn't go after the high ranked kids. I am saying that there is a lot more to building a winning college program then how many stars a kid has following his Jr year in HS
