still def some talent in California dont worry. The Robinson twins Tyree and Tyrell, also Tahaan Goodman is still out there. Sometimes we get cream of the crop type "higher rated" type players like DAT and Devon Blackmon from CA, but alot of times we get the "left over" kids... and a lot of the times those "leftover" kids have BIG chips on their shoulder, eager to show what SC missed out on.

Oh yeah we stil got Goodman, and now with a crowded backfield he'll shirk away from them :V

And whose to say that USC won't experience another DAT?

as much as I would love those year after year... but those type of flips are very far between. DAT was a USC "lock" since like 6th grade. Maybe more of those will happen with continued and sustained success :)

fortunately with the increased success, exposure, and success of Texas kids, we dont have to be 95% reliant on California kids. on the 247 free chat here are a few targets left on the board that as Matt Prehm put it
Oregon fans would be willing to "settle" for

Ricky Seals-Jones

Tyrell Robinson

Tyree Robinson

Derrick Green

Torrodney Prevot

Tahaan Goodman

James Quick

Alvin Kamara

Adding these kids seem to be legitimate options, and would make for a stellar class added with what we already have.

I recently read a recruiting article that touched on more top kids committing early then ever this year and to USC in particular. The thought was that their fewer scholarship offers was making kids commit now in fear of not having that option come signing day. If this is true, we may see more guys switching programs then usual too... two of USC's commits are said to have scheduled all 5 OVs after they verbaled

I didnt read an article but in a comments sections somewhere I read something along those lines too. With limited scholarships they could be saving their place in the class. Thanks for reminding me :)

Huh. True. Nice to know STOMP. So there's only 2 spots left on USC's scholarships then I assume?

(Dunno why you get hassled really. You don't deserve it)

Do we have any scholarships available for any of the Penn State decommits, if they choose Oregon?

Let's see...

Nope, not from what I can see. All of them are WVU targets though

A question, why haven't we offered Tahann Goodman yet? I mean, USC has 2 safeties, and he's hte #2 safety in the country right? Oregon shouldn't allow a SoCal talent get away to like, LSU or Florida. Same with Laquan Treadwell.

Ruh-roh, James Quick favorite is Louisville :MARIS61:

thats what he's claimed all along... tOSU is probably ahead of the Ducks as well. His main knock against Oregon is the distance from home. The first step to overcoming this is getting him out West on an OV. The longer he doesn't commit the better the chances that he's in Eugene for a game in the fall.

Uh...

That's an odd college choice for Scott. I mean, that's quite a distance. IS the idea of playing with Nkemdiche appealing I assume?

I honestly thought he'd be a shoe-in at LSU or Stanford. How come he didn't want to play West?

I guess he's got family there too. I lived part of my childhood in North Carolina... it's nice.

the highly rated DT thats still on the board is Jaynard Bostwick out of Florida. He's maintained Miami as his #1 and Oregon #2 for some time. The U is pretty sure to get absolutely hammered by the NCAA in the not so distant future. Here's hoping he makes it out west for the Washington weekend

Got a source that he has family in NorCar?

It would be awesome if Oregon gets Jaynard and the brothers Robinson(because they won't get into USC now due to small scholarships and tons of WRs). And I don't get how people like The U anyway. They've been irelevant over the last several years unlike FSU and Florida.

Also, 247sports says ORegon has an offer for Tahann Goodman(is he interested in Oregon? Because signs point to him not going to USC due to Cravens and Redfield), yet Rivals doesn't. Conundrum?

And what were to happen if Silas Redd check out Oregon and likes it? Him, Barner, and DAT would be quite lethal.

a quote from Scott on rivals...

no idea

I don't see it happening as Oregon runs a different system then he's used to. Since he's a Jr. with NFL aspirations, he's probably looking for a school that runs a pro set like he's used to

Ah okay.

I mean UO could seriously use a star safety when JB goes into the draft next year. Why not Goodman?

So him and USC/Stanford would be a match I assume?

On Jaynard, how come we don't have an offer for him yet?

Maybe grades? Character? The coaches haven't completed their background check/due diligence process with him? I'm not privy to the details as to why individual offers go out, but having followed this for a while, what seems most important is that both sides continue to be in contact

Robert Nkemdiche has a Duck offer. He stated in a rivals interview this past week that he still plans on taking a couple OVs this fall despite already being verbally committed. The two schools he mentioned in order were Oregon & USC. Robert Foster is another top rated kid who continues to express UO interest... should be a fun fall :)

Huh, I see. But with USC full I don't think Nkemdiche would go there. He'd piss off a lot of SEC fans and his Clemson team if he backs out(and especially after Clemson gave out offers to his HS teammates, which IMO was a shady move on Robert's part).

Getting Foster out of Alabama's grip should be fun. Alabama doesn't have NFL prime QBs but they can make good receivers(Julio Jones) so I think that appeals to Foster. But if Mariota will be more of a passer, Foster could develop here.

Also the same for RSJ as well.

Links? I haven't seen anything that has said those two have expressed interest in us.

I saw both guys in video interviews on rivals. Trust me at your own risk

btw... the 6 schools Foster listed were Alabama, Oregon, Pitt, Michigan State, Michigan, USC. He said he probably takes visits and announces on signing day.

I did see something on Duck Territory where he expressed interest. But only say he was "considering".. which is no guarantee at all.

Foster's options:
Alabama: Could be the next Julio Jones if he goes, but the new Offensive unit thats going to be more pass happy remains to be seen, and they are more run first and won't harness him for the next level.
USC: their out of scholarships so no.
Pitt: Possible, but they'll get wailed on in the ACC.
Michigan: Could be Shane Morris' #1 target for years to come. Probable.
MSU: Team lacks a QB, but he can develop under MSU's system. They can win.
Oregon: If Mariota is more pass-first, Foster can develop.

Outcome: I see him going to Michigan.
