is this still the recruiting thread?

there are rumors of a couple highly rated kids coming in on OVs this weekend... namely Cal Safety Max Redfield and NC WR Marquez North. Also expected to attend is current verbal Cal TE commit John Mundt. I hear he's been tearing it up his Sr. year and that he (along with Tyner) are the two Ducks to be who are expected to garner another star in the final round of evaluations.

below is Marquez North's highlight tape

Green is here this weekend right? Redfield would be a nice pickup and LORD KNOWS we need help on the defense especially in the secondary where he could come right in and play!!!!

BTW- the ACC should be our new hunting ground, the conference is a joke and they're a ton of talented kids there especially in the secondary to feast upon!

Don't forget about Florida State and Clemson, they're good. Dnd Miami will always draw recruits like USC, and whose to say North Carolina won't rise again?

I read somewhere (I think J-Hopkins) said that Green visit might be postponed.

Nice! Maybe he makes it here for the Pac-12 Championship and our 4th!!

I'm pretty new to dealing with a Conference Champ game. But I'm wondering if that game falls under the "Dark Period" when coaches cant contact recruits

Big Blow Redmond de-commits . May be back may not.

I've no idea what you're saying. The only school he verbally committed to was USC and from all reports he's excited about taking an OV to UO

Big Blow Redmond de-commits . May be back may not.

Here are Redmond's thoughts on his decision, via a report from Brandon P. Oliver of ESPN.com:

"I just feel like I haven't seen anywhere else really. I have the once in a lifetime opportunity to visit other schools and see what all is out there," Redmond said. "Of course I still have love for the Ducks and I'll continue to be in touch with them."

So he will visit other schools and we're high on his list. Thank goodness we're the only good school he's interested in.

Let's hope like Tyner he's on a Tshirt grab and meet girls tour of the NCAA! Let's hope!

Eh, I'm worried. He'll come back and commit to the winning school.

Great. We probably have one of the worst recruiting classes now in the Pac-12.

No one wants to come here

Why why why

I think every coach in the country is telling top recruits Chip is on the way out and that's not what top prospects want to hear when committing 4 years of their lives somewhere.

Can't be because we're not winning, cool uniforms, best facilties and so on.....

I think it all points to Chip not knocking down the NFL ongoing rumors! What else could it be that would leave us with 10 recruits two month shy of signing day as the #2 team in the nation and undefeated?

they'll probably end up with another top 15 class again this year. Right now rivals has them #9 overall (after LSU and before Michigan) if you're comparing amount of stars per player. One of rivals top national recruiting guys (Mike Farrell) recently projected them as the favorite to land Redfield and co-fav on McQuay (along with Vandy). Right now a lot of top talent thats interested in Oregon can't make games because of their proximity to Eugene and the fact that their HS teams are still in the playoffs. Besides that, CK has stated publicly many times a preference for guys coming in for OVs after Oregon's season is over so that he and the staff can devote time to them. The last couple of years they've brought in and closed on a ton of highly rated talent after their season was complete including Addison, Armstead, Buckner, Fisher & De'Anthony

A year from now, try to remember that this is how they do it before falling to gloom and doom

the train keeps rolling, and nobody does more with his recruits than CK

So how will this lose affect recruiting now?

I doubt it affects things very much. Just reflecting on the things that kids typically point to as reasons they choose a school, current record ranks well down the list.

True: Ole Miss and Arizona have decent recruiting classes.

So, who wants to sit back and watch USC lose all their precious recruits?

247
has 7 who they think Oregon will get here is a copy and paste, note no OL or LB's listed.

Tarean Folston, RB, Cocoa (Fla.)

The Top247 running back made his second official visit over the weekend. After visiting Notre Dame in October, Oregon had the versatile prospect on campus over the weekend as the Ducks try to play catch-up to the nations top ranked program.

DuckTerritory.com analyst Justin Hopkins on Folston’s recruitment: “Folston visited Eugene over the weekend giving Oregon a serious shot to impress the four-star back. It's hard to get a real gauge where things stand with Folston as he often declines interviews. Oregon has been close to 'pulling the plug' and walking away from Folston on more than one occasion only to have him reach out to the staff and express his sincere interest. As Jason Sapp from BlueAndGold.com reports, Notre Dame appears to be the biggest competition to the Ducks for the signature of the nation's No. 118 prospect.”

John Ross, WR, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly

The speedy slot receiver prospect has made only one visit thus far, to Oregon in early October. While the Ducks remain the leader for the 5-foot-9, 165-pound ultra quick prospect, he will likely make visits to at least two more Pac-12 programs before making a decision.

Hopkins on Ross’ recruitment: “Ross visited Oregon on Oct. 6 and it's been all Ducks ever since. The word floating around is Ross would like to be a part of the 2013 class for Oregon but his parents are suggesting he take other visits still. UCLA and Washington figure to be the biggest competition to the Ducks, both of which he has visited at one point or another.”

Thomas Duarte, TE, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei

The recruitment of flex tight end Thomas Duarte is likely a two horse race. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder appears to be headed for UCLA or Oregon decision with many believing Oregon is the team to beat, but the Bruins are clearly trending.

Hopkins on Duarte’s recruitment: “Like Folston, Duarte has kept a pretty tight lid on his recruitment. But the latest suggests this is an Oregon-UCLA battle and the Ducks could be the team to beat. Oregon is pretty deep at the wide receiver position but Duarte has size and speed to be a big target off the edge. Blocking is a key factor in every wide receiver Oregon targets.”

Daniel Etuale, DT, American Samoa

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Etuale is not known or talked about much in recruiting circles, but he is one of the top targets on the Ducks defensive board. All that stands between Etuale being a Duck is a qualifying test score, which could come this month.

Hopkins on Etuale’s recruitment: “One of the least talked about recruits is defensive line target Daniel Etuale. Etuale graduated high school in American Samoa and is not currently enrolled anywhere. He recently took the SAT and is waiting on a qualifying score, which he should receive around Nov. 20. If he gets his score, he will be a Duck and will enroll in December.”

Sione Sina, WDE, San Mateo (Calif.) College of San Mateo

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound junior college prospect visited Oregon in October, and remains the team to beat. As it currently stands, Chip Kelly and staff will have to fight off a Pac-12 and SEC program in the next month for the spring enrollee.

Hopkins on Sina’s recruitment: “Junior college defensive end Sione Sina visited Oregon in October. He is expected to take official visits to Oregon State, Texas A&M and possibly Cal before graduating in December. Oregon remains the team to beat and Sina would come in and compete for the vacant hybrid role by a graduating Dion Jordan.”

Max Redfield, S, Mission Viejo (Calif.)

The former USC commitment recently visited Notre Dame and many believe the Fighting Irish are the team to beat. With that said, the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder will visit Oregon in the coming weeks and the Ducks are very much in the thick of it for the Top247 prospect.

Hopkins on Redfield’s recruitment: “Redfield recently de-committed from USC in order to have the chance to officially visit Oregon. Most felt Notre Dame led following his trip to South Bend, but the Ducks are trending. Before Redfield committed to USC in July, the Ducks and Trojans were his top two schools.”

Gareon Conley, Ath., Massillon (Ohio) Washington

The Michigan commitment continues to say he would like to take official visits to Oregon and Ohio State. The issue at hand is the fact Michigan would likely cut the Top247 prospect loose if he sets foot on another campus.

Hopkins on Conley’s recruitment: “Although Conley is still considered a Michigan commit, he has publicly stated he will take other visits which would likely end that agreement. If he does take his visits, as he indicates he will, it would either be Oregon or Ohio State landing the Top247 prospect. Conley has been offered to play corner or receiver by both programs.”

not that it means anything definite, but attached is a pic of Max Redfield leaving his HS stadium after friday's game.

btw, they won which probably pushes his OV date back into December
