2013 Gold Cup

Not Gold Cup related, but it looks like the 2022 World Cup is going to be played in November/December. Qatar bribed its way into hosting, promising stadiums w/ an air temp of something like 75 degrees. Looks like that was a lie and that no one thought about all the time spent outside of the stadiums for fans and the press. The 2022 WC is going to make Brazil look like a well oiled machine.

Chop, I'm going to be working in Brazil for the next WC! If you get down there..... I could probably score some tickets.

Shit, don't tempt me. My friend Jensen (I'm not sure, but you may know him) was there in '02 when they won the world cup. I remember him saying it was like one giant ass party.

Is Nagbe eligible to play for the USAMNT? I think he would be a great fit.

Found this. Basically the start of 2016 is when he'd be eligible. That would be right before the start of the Hex so the only way I'd see him making it to WC 2018 is to get called up for the Gold Cup and having a Donovan like performance.

Portland Timbers starlet Darlington Nagbe has received his United States green card, which puts him on the path to citizenship. Now that he has his green card, he must wait five years before he can apply for citizenship, but he is engaged to an American citizen, which would expedite the timeline to three years away from citizenship beginning on the day of his December wedding

I was so pumped that we won yesterday, but it really sucks that Holden went down again. Hopefully his MRI comes back negative for a major tear, but it isn't looking good. The kid just can't catch a break when it comes to injuries. His first couple were horrific tackles, but yesterday it just looked like his knee gave out. Outside of that, Mix looked great coming in for him, Donovan took a while to get into it, but was decent and Beckerman did a great job stopping any sort of attack Panama could muster. It wasn't pretty, but damn near 75% possession for the Nats is unheard of. And I'm pretty sure Shea wrapped up his spot in Brazil as our super sub.

On other USMNT news, Aron Johannson just filed his paperwork to use his 1 time switch to join the US team. This makes me wish Altidore stuck it out one more season in Holland, cause how great would it be to have 2 strikers practice/play together for a full season leading up to the World Cup. Who knows if he'll make it to Brazil, but after Jozy and EJ, our pure striker depth chart is pretty thin (unless you count Dempsey/Donovan as our forwards). Hopefully his paperwork goes through and we get a chance to see him in a couple of weeks against Bosnia.

Oh, and this was the best highlight of the game

lol @ Jurgen's reaction. I rewound that about 10 times I my DVR

Tab Ramos is smiling... he doesnt care... He's like the Honey Badger!

gutted for him. Cant catch a break

I didn't want to start a new thread for this rumor, but figured some of you might be interested. Apparently Clint Dempsey is on the verge of completing a move to the Sounders! This is good for the MLS, but shitty for USMNT and our chances in Brazil. We need all of our players in their peak form and playing, even as a rotational player, and training in the EPL is better than starting in the MLS. Also, MLS ends in the fall, so unless he somehow has a loan in place in January (or maybe this is a loan and he is hoping to make a transfer in January), this makes no sense.

Wheels, aren't you an Arsenal fan? What's worse, Clint on the Spurs or Sounders?

Yeah there is uproar in RCTID'ville as Timbers have first spot in allocation order for returning MLS players and USMNT players. So how they jumped ahead of Timbers to sign them I dont know.

But yeah... a Spurs shirt and a Sounders shirt in one calendar year? #FavoriteUSMNTplayerNoMore

but to seriously answer the question its worse to see him in a Sounder's shirt. PTFC are the club that takes first place in my heart. <3 my Local Football Club!

Did you see the rumors last night? First he was spotted at SFO at a gate for a Seattle flight, but then the guy that spotted him said he never got on that flight. Everton is/was in the Bay area I think. I'm hoping he flew to the US to meet up with them. Maybe he and Donovan can join Everton together, ha. Anyway, if this move does go through, it sucks on so many levels!

I read about those rumors this morning so I figured it was some hoax and stuff... then this. so much for him holding out for Champion's League experience... so much for that

$40million + for him at age 30????? No thanks!

Forcing his way out of Fullham because it wasn't a CL club to transferring to the MLS in under 1 year. Glad this guy was just made captain by Klinsmann.

So how did he skip over the timbers and land in Seattle then?

Sent from my baller ass iPad FAMS!
