What I don't agree with is JSmith at SF. He cannot stretch the floor and that will be one of DET's main problems: Outside shooting.

They'll have lots of outside shooting, just not lots of outside making!

I like Jennings a lot better than Knight. I never understood the appeal in Knight.

Yeah it could definitely be an issue. If they can get one of those guys to accept being the 6th man then they could still play them all 30+ minutes but with Josh only playing a tiny bit of SF. Supposedly their other acquisitions are great outside shooters, Kaldwell-Pope and some foreign guy. Jennings can shoot.

They do have the potential to be the best defensive team in the league. I'm very interested to see that group play.

Didn't know where to put this, but Hibbert is looking fucking massive:

Who's the guy to Splitter's left?

(See what you mean about Hibbert - didn't he learn anything from Oden's experience?)

Adrian Wojnarowski: Memphis has traded guard Tony Wroten to the 76ers for a future second round pick, league source tells Y! Sports. Twitter @WojYahooNBA

I am a little surprised they gave up so quickly on him.

A little surprised they would take that little as well. I know quite a few posters here wanted him during the draft.

Antawn Jamison signs with Clips:

“This is a good fit for me. Hopefully, I’m the player that can help take the team over the edge (for a title),” A. Jamison told Y! Sports.

LOL. I do hope he takes them "over the edge". But not for a title. :)

The Suns have one player 30 or older and no one making more than $8 million!!!!

Bledsoe and Wiggins will be fun to watch in '14-'15!

After recently trading for 7-footer Fab Melo – the 22nd pick in the 2012 NBA draft – the Memphis Grizzlies waived him on Friday, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Grizzlies could be spared paying Melo the $1.3 million owed him in 2013-'14 if another team claims him off waivers.

Despite his shortcomings, Melo's size and shot-blocking potential could make him a worthwhile project for a team.

As one Eastern Conference executive said Friday, "It won't be us, but I think someone will [claim] him."

How lazy and unmotivated do you have to be to be a 7 footer and on a rookie contract and to be waived? I mean thats what Thabeet was supposed to be and he never got waived and is still in the league.

France loses today. I hope that means they are done.

Mark Woods: Nicolas Batum expected to play for France v Lithuania tomorrow despite ongoing treatment for foot problem.

No, they play at least two more games. See explanation in the Eurobasket thread.
