Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Manu isn't a RFA, is he? Don't think he has a cap hold. Could be completely wrong.

Edit - On hoopsworld, they really don't have much cap room tied up next year. TP gets 12.5. Duncan gets 10.4. Manu isn't a RFA.

48 mill is what they have if they keep everything. Could easily renounce Splitter, cut Bonner, Mills, and Diaw, and have a bit of room

UFAs still have cap holds, to prevent teams from just this sort of thing, signing Dwight, and then going well over to sign Manu.

And Bonner, Diaw and Mills all have contracts next season. They can't just cut them.

Non-guaranteed contract for Bonner. Thought the same with Diaw and Mills, but was wrong. They have ETOs.

Bonner and Splitter frees up an additional 10 mill, though. Which would put them at 20+ mill.

Removing Bonner entirely, they still have ~21-22 million in space. Max deal for Dwight starts at 20. Is Manu taking the mini-mle room exception of 2.6 million?

Don't know. Don't really think it matters because Spurs don't want Dwight, I don't believe. I think Manu will get around 6 mill though.

Wow, assistant coaches are the current flavor, it seems.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Great hire by the Hawks. I've been a Budenholzer fan for years.

Cavaliers, Mavericks, Bobcats Interested In DeMarcus Cousins -- http://bit.ly/18uMA4O

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Charlotte Bobcats and Dallas Mavericks are three teams that have interest in trading for DeMarcus Cousins if the new ownership of the Sacramento Kings decide to part ways with their most valued asset, according to sources.

The Bobcats are motivated to turnaround their long rebuilding situation and would surely be willing to build a package for Cousins around the No. 4 pick.

Cousins would be 'Plan C' for the Mavericks if they are unable to sign either Chris Paul or Dwight Howard.

Cousins is entering the final season of his contract before reaching restricted free agency.

Sources say the Magic have a lot of interest in Clippers point guard Eric Bledsoe and would be willing to trade Afflalo for Bledsoe and Caron Butler's expiring contract. ESPN.com

Richard Jefferson is opting into $11 million deal for next season. $20 million between RJeff and Biedrins for Dubs. http://cbsprt.co/10I3vJC

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Bobcats owner Michael Jordan doesn't want to be mired in the rebuilding process forever. If the No. 4 pick could net him an established low-post scorer, he'd bite. Cousins would be more of a "Plan C" for the Mavs if both Chris Paul and Dwight Howard decide not to join the Mavs this summer, but Cousins would give them a young presence in the paint to build around. The Cavs won't be the only team calling the Kings once they get a new GM in place. Sources say that the Charlotte Bobcats and Dallas Mavericks will also have interest in Cousins if Sacramento's new management decides to cut ties with Cousins. ESPN.com

Source tells http://sheridanhoops.com that #Cavs would trade No. 1 pick in draft to get Kevin Love from #TWolves: http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/0...0-1-cavs-would-move-no-1-pick-for-kevin-love/

I would say we have a better chance of keeping LMA than Minnesota has in keeping Love. (Based on Love's perceived personality and comments) They should seriously consider it. He may have a longer contract, but he is more apt to complain than LMA.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

I'm finally ready to try a Demarcus Cousins experiment! The rumor is that the Bobcats are offering the #4 pick. Could we beat that? I wouldn't want to give up Batum, LA or Lillard, so the answer (for me) is probably "no". Kind of depends how much Petrie likes Meyers Leonard.

How about this, along with the #10 pick:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=owmhkkp

I think we would also have to sign some veteran with strong leadership cred as well. Tony Allen? Also Charles Oakley as an assistant coach...

(Would the Cavs really offer the #1 pick? In this draft, that's not really that much better, if at all, from the #4. Cousins is probably worth it talent-wise, but it's not clear he actually helps a team win. Derrick Coleman II...)

lol. Did the Bucks re-up their GM this past season? If so, the owner should fire himself. And then the new owner should fire the GM. Terrible franchise.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

D'oh, of course Petrie is out. About time, too. I wonder which of their players the new GM likes.

Well, it's progress that they don't like one of them. They shouldn't like EITHER of them.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

If the Heat get knocked out by Indiana, I wonder if they'd consider a Bosh-for-Cousins trade. Cousins obviously needs to be in the right environment. Wow - I wonder if the Spurs would ever consider him? They could offer Splitter/Kawhi Leonard.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

LMA for the CLE package

The #1 + Meyers(?) for DMC and The Jimmer

DMC/Thompson/Larkin(#19) is a nice haul for LMA
