So why is it that the most offense terms for white people are allowed, but not for black people?

can I say

chink
wetback
spic
camel jockey
dune coon
injun
kraut
rag or towel head
slant eye

just not ****** I guess?

This has crossed my mind.

By the very fact that it can never be said, gives it more "power".

Fuck, on the news , in the paper, almost any print, with the "special exception" of those in Hollywood..its "THE N WORD"

They put that motherfucker on a pedstal.

If some brother wants to do a recording, and sling it..well...its ok.

Some (fill in the blank ) says it in a joke twenty years ago? fire that bitch, cut ties and run for cover..

What a chicken shit, over protctive society this hs become. It is not the black man doing this, it is all the do gooders who have emasculated you.

Ok this made me giggle a little

The guy who played Kramer pretty much ruined his career when he responded to some heckling by some black guys during a stand up routine, and went with it and took the kind of risks comedians take to be edgy. It's probably the only word in the english language that will pretty much destroy your life, regardless of the context. If you are white. I mean, a news reporter can't even say: "The local school Board passed a resolution prohibiting employees from using the word ******." They would have to substitute the actual word with "The 'N' word". I find it to be pretty bizarre, really.

Paula Deen - is that you?

LOL. Not that I could tell her from a rhutabaga before her 'incident', but as I understand it, she was accused of using "the term" with her staff in derogatory manner. More than once. Being as she's from the old south, old habits die hard, I guess. Her judgement was swift and final. I don't fault her employers/advertisers for looking out for their best interest. But in reporting all of this, I don't think I saw a single instance where the folks doing the reporting used the actual word she is accused of using. Did they? I'd be surprised if they did. And a little relieved that the oppression is lifting, even if just a little. ;)

Hated Sheed, but this is seriously funny

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA 31s
I asked Andre Drummond who is the biggest trash talker in the NBA. He thought for a second and said, "My new coach... Rasheed Wallace."

For the record, she also wanted a wedding at a plantation catered entirely by black men, wearing white suits and black bow-ties.

Now that's officially asking for a trade. No hidden meaning, just "I want to be traded" coming directly from him.

Well, can you really blame him. He was arguably one of the top 5 defensive centers in the league last year, and now he's looking at 15 mpg if he stays in Houston. It appears to make perfect sense to everyone except Daryl Morey that Asik should be traded.

By the way--anyone ever notice that stat/analytics geek Morey's first name is spelled the same as the 80's movie about the kid robot?

Of dont get me wrong. He should be traded. I'm just pointing out clearly that you can count on a player wanting to leave; when comments like that are made.

The Aldridge wanting to go, was never commented by him; just purely speculation by fan beat writers that make a mountain out of an ant hill

Slightly different circumstances. Houston essentially made it known that they don't really value Asik all that much by going out and finding a replacement for him. If Olshey had traded for a starting quality power-forward I think it's pretty likely you would hear the exact same kind of public request from Aldridge.

As it is, he can't go out and publicly demand a trade without risking a lot of bad will unless it's a reaction to management making the first move.

I see your point, but in portland's case; they don't have that. Also, olshey is trying to build the team to win; not tanking and such. In that regard, it seems management is doing what it can to appease Aldridge and his need to win.

If LMA wants out of Portland so badly, the way to expedite it is to go public. Since he hasn't, and has said nothing near that this summer, I have to believe the LMA stuff was a media creation.

I absolutely agree. It started with the seed from Chicago beat reporter, then of course quick drills Aldridge to say he hates it here, then it spread like wild fire.

I can't wait for these beat writers to see Aldridge giving them the middle finger and sign an extension next season.

Allen should make it clear that the star players shun the local media. Answer questions only to the big time guys and "no comment" to quick the dick, Hayes the lame, and cansuckoff

Marc Stein: One source close to process contends Warriors' forthcoming deal w/Speights, does NOT impact their pursuit of free-agent C Jermaine O'Neal Twitter @ESPNSteinLine

Warriors signed Speights to a 3 year deal. Going after JO too

Apparently the 3rd year is a team option. Still no word on the money, or whether it becomes unguaranteed after the first year.

No one has reported that its a trade/S&T involving Jarrett Jack, but it kind of makes sense that it could be. That way Warriors burn a TPE and keep their MLE. Cleveland could get a TPE or cash out of it. I think we've traded all of our second round picks from now until about 2038. Most of them owned by Utah lol.

We need another cracka for the all white Lakers starting lineup!

Nash
Blake

Gasol
Kaman

It's what he hasn't said that makes me believe he's very willing to move on if things don't change

Well he has said he likes where this team is going. He's also said that he knows Lillard will be a stud. Also said he was gonna work on his low block game because he sees that's where the team needs him. He also called and said "I did not ask for a trade!"

If you guys choose to ignore it, then fine.
