the word I've heard is twofold. He's a much more exciting/elite prospect at 230 then he was last year at 210 as if anything he's even faster & more athletic then he was. Being a top student, he's been openly interested in going to a top academic school like Stanford for some time.

The rivals murmurs aren't agreeing with him being the longshot that Daigotsu seems to think he is. Talk is he wouldn't have received the offer if he wasn't sincerely interested in UO and quotes from him post offer are that he's thrilled to have an Oregon offer. Talk is cheap, but I'm hopeful

both have recently cut down their lists to 5 schools (with the Ducks included) and have indicated that they plan on taking OVs to Eugene this fall.

Kurtz no longer going to Oregon for Official. Possibly due to Oregon. Scratch him off as filling one of Oregons WR spots.

One more Official visit left available for Mixon. If we don't get it we don't have a chance of landing him. (he never made his unofficial.) Could also hurt our shot on Adoree since he and mixon talked about joining the same team.

We are competing with Cal, Ohio State, Oregon State, Tennessee & Washington. for that last Official out of his top 10. If we don't get it assume he's a goner.

Well we have Freeman, so it's not a total loss.

So, who is on our list for official visits? Anyone got a list of which players are coming?

incorrect. Players can take 5 OVs total, JM has booked 4. With Freeman, the Ducks are pretty stocked at RB so I doubt they land Mixon

it's always a fluid list subject to change from either the player or the team's end, but I know Oregon has one more RB (well, TZR) scheduled for an OV and thats Tony James on 9/27 when they're playing Cal

who knows? Be it grades, skills, or personal makeup, maybe never. Or maybe they want him to visit first... or maybe they offered him 5 minutes ago

PSAs aren't restricted from talking about how they feel about schools and their recruitment, but schools/coaches aren't allowed to talk about PSAs. Fans don't get much insight into that side of recruiting

according to a recent tweet from Mattrell McGraw, when he makes his OV he's going to have company. 5* Bama CB & top hurdler Marlon Humphrey is supposed to be giving the Ducks a serious look and has put them in his top 5... he also claims to be friends with fellow hurdler/Duck WR Devon Allen

We are sooooo not getting Marlon if Alabama is only a 2 hour drive and has sent DBs in the first round over the last 2 years. If we offer him, he's probably not gonna accept due to that and hometown pressure.
 
Marlon attends the same Alabama HS as starting Safety Brian Jackson attended... I seem to recall many Duck DBs in the NFL

btw... Georgia DE Lorenzo Carter trimmed his list to 8 with Oregon included. Perhaps The Opening piqued his interest? If he comes out for an OV...

I follow recruiting daily via rivals/ESPN, but rarely think I know anything for sure. In fact the more I know, the more I realize how little I actually know of what matters. How did you become so convinced you're right in this matter? Whats your source(s)? I'm not saying you're wrong, just curious

Conventional common sense. Would you want to play for a contender that's only a 1-2 hour drive away? Or go on a long flight?

You lose 1 game in Pac-12, you're out of contention for a Title.

You lose 2 game in the SEC, you're not out of the picture.

Georgia and Alabama also have more First Round NFL draft credit than Oregon does.

how does your common sense explain Bralon Addison, Jalen Jelks, Arrion Springs, LaMichael James, Torrodney Prevot and umpteen other Ducks from afar who had offers close to home? Common sense tells me that we don't know what motivates the individual. Perhaps Marlon Humphrey wants to check out something besides the sweltering SE? Maybe as a top track and field guy he wants to go to a top track and field school as well as a top football school? Maybe he wants to study sports marketing? Maybe he has family out West?

We can grab from Texas/Missouri/Arizona just fine. It's the Louisana-eastward to Florida places that are the toughest places to recruit. Alabama is doing it easily, grabbing Ricky Town from friggin La Mirada, that OG from Centennnial, and TAMU grabbing that WR.

Oh, and Ronald Powell, from RANCHO CUCUMONGA going to FLORIDA of all places, rather than stay out west.

Michiah Quick is trying to set up an official to Oregon. Note some think that he doesn't have a commitable oregon offer some do.

Also, Stanford gets 3 commits in like, 2 hours. Okereke and Alfieri are off the list now.
 
Kurtz is off to Brigham Young, as a future Utah State fan this worries me...
 
If we don't land Mondeaux I'm unsure Oregon will get a scholarship oregon football player.
Humphries to commit soon to somewhere.
 
So much for holding in-state this year :T. We were quite picky and lazy to offer these guys right under our noses.

I think Humphries maybe going to Wisconsin.
 
Ducks are recruiting a 5'10 185 JC RB named Tyreek Hill. Besides football, he's a top track and field sprinter who has posted faster 100 & 200 times then any recent Duck including Tyner and DAT

The Tennessee game on Sept 14th is shaping up to be a pretty big weekend for OVs. Expected to be in attendance are Vincent Jackson, Jalen Brown, Layth Friekh, and possibly Michiah Quick.

a couple more tidbits on BB. Coach Lubick had been recruiting him while he was at Duke last year. This summer at The Opening Braxton was teammates with Duck QB commit Morgan Mahalak
