He is committed to Washington, and Tosh is like a vampire. Once he sinks his fangs, he don't let go.

You sure on that?

New commit, unranked JC DB Dominique Harrison.

This throws a wrench into who I felt we had good shot with DB wise and how many we would take.

my reaction is that this is a proactive move anticipating 1-2 CBs declaring early for the NFL draft and needing more bodies who are good to go. True Freshman usually Redshirt

Damnit, we may now loss McGraw now. Can't he play safety?

Also, Hopkins is a wizard. Tui Talia has switched from Washington to Oregon

Tosh's vampire nickname is Gummy. Tui Talia has flipped to the Ducks. He certainly has the size they seem to be going for.

apparently McGraw pissed at unranked DB commit, and now UCLA leads.

This report is having a hard time passing the sniff test. Maybe UCLA now leads for McGraw, but having several recruits in the same class who play the same position is completely normal. Besides, at least in rivals database McGraw is listed as a Safety & Harrison at CB

He's a 2* on Scout. Wait until next spring to see how he's ranked.

an article on Talia with these quotes from his JC coach

"He's in the mold of Diablo Valley College defensive linemen: great motor," Darr said. "The difference between him and the others is he's got that ‘play on Sunday' size."

"He loves the weight room. He loves the work," Darr said, adding that he expects more offers to begin rolling in for Talia because of his rare combination of size and athletic ability.

That's good to hear.

Also, how are the recruits from the last 2 recruiting classes doing?

2013 class only one EE JC target Walker did ok during spring game. Rest are not on Campus

2012 class
Mostly Redshirted as usual.
for redshirts.
Rumor is Rodrigues beat out Lockie as backup but unconfirmed.
Chance Allen was rumored to be great last year, but didn't see much at spring game.

Of those that played
Stanford had some catches last year but seems to be out this season with a season ending injury, chance we may use his redshirt medically this year.

Brown saw some play, unsure how will be used this year.

Kyle Long. Played a year then drafted in the 1st round by the bears.

Buckner. Played from the start will see more playing time

Armstead. Played from the start will see more playing time.

Balducci. Injuries caused us to burn his redshirt late, should see more time probably starting NT rotation JR/SR year

Marshall. May be primary backup rb, I still think he may get passed but that is just my opinion.

Not even Tyner? Isn't he supposed to be the Yeldon to Marshall's Lacy?

Can't wait to see the young blood step up

Not even Tyner?

pretty sure he's still finishing up his Senior year in HS. Reportedly he'll join the team for summer workouts to ready himself for the fall practices

I see. Hope he starts. Keep DAT as a Tavon Austin role. Sometimes a RB, though mostly in the slot.

Well that's nice.

Whats the word in on Jelks or any O-line prospects?

Well that's nice.

yes, landing a top rated long snapper is nice. Their current LS (Drew Howell) is a Junior, so this should be a smooth transition and keep their special teams clicking

Jelks is still interested in the Ducks and hasn't committed anywhere. Even if UO is his top interest, it's a 1,200+ mile drive on his own dime to visit Eugene for an unofficial so I wouldn't be surprised if he waits until the fall to take an OV.

6'9 Kaleb McGary hails from Tacoma Wa and will be visiting later this month. Oregon is recruiting him as an athlete who could play on either line... there is chatter he might go out for hoops too alla Arik Armstead

Oh boy, cockblocking Washington and Tosh for McGary would so nice. Plus, we could try to nab Jelks too.

Also, this Matt Elam kid out of Kentucky. 6'6 and over 350!! My goodness! Hope he commits to Louisville or tOSU over Can'tucky.

Also, how are we in the Tight End Department? We always seem to recruit one tight end a class, and we could possibly shift them over to defense if the depth too large. Result was a 3rd overall pick and a beast of a hybrid OLB in Dion. Rumor has it that outside of Mondeaux, we have Bryce Dixon out of SoCal and a Ravian Pierce in Florida who seem interested(all he needs is an offer).

Mondeaux is being recruited as a DE, which may cost us him in the end if he really wants to play TE and some school he likes offer.

We are taking 1 TE this class. Currently Dixon and Wood are at the top of the list since both have offers. Bunting was at the very top but obviously missed out on him.
Pierce is possible if he gets in another round of evaluations and makes it or if we strike out and decide to go with him.

how are we in the Tight End Department?

You mean besides Colt right? In a word, stacked. I read an article where Helfrich singled out Pharoah Brown for having a great Spring and they've several other big/fast highly touted young guys who could emerge as contributors as well. Always room at the top for the best though

STOMP

So we're stacked at the TE position. Colt, Brown, Mundt, Baylis and more. Though I suppose one more TE for redshirting purposes(as Colt is declaring this year) wouldn't hurt

Well he has been camping there, and not in a woodsy sense.

Ha! I posted as I was rushing out the door this morning and meant to edit for clarity at work, but... didn't happen. While there are a lot of top prospect RBs checking out the Ducks, Royce seems to have it all. Size, speed, honor role GPA, plus he's supposed to have great character. The current status of my fingers is crossed

In other news, Oregon just offered Texas WR Keenen Brown. While he's thought to be a heavy Oklahoma lean, he does hail from the same HS as Torrodney Prevot... we'll see

Getting Freeman would be like having an Eddie Lacy in the backfield. Would love it.

Freeman seems to be our most likely RB commit. Don't know if we will either push hard for mixon or continue afters scott for the 2nd commit.

Looks like we'll get 4 DB this cycle if we can land McGraw, Springs, Baker in additon to our JC dude. Though Bake might officially be considered an athlete.

Would not be shocked if both Springs and Freeman commit at the Opening to Oregon.

Per another site
The 6-foot, 225-pound prep is the No. 71 overall player was at Oregon's camp this week and made his impression on the coaches and audience.
However it may have been the impression Oregon made on Freeman that was the bigger storyline.
"I loved the hospitality and how they answered all of my questions," Freeman said. "They all made me feel like I was already a part of the team. That really stood out to me and my parents."
Freeman was one of the select few that was allowed to see the new football facilities as they near completion.
"The facilities are even better in person. I saw some of the new building and it's pretty impressive. I'm not sure there is anything out there quite like it."
Running backs coach Gary Campbell has led in the charge of the recruitment so far. Freeman said he was able to spend time with Campbell and head coach Mark Helfrich among others.
"Campbell is a great coach. I like his style of coaching and his attention to detail. I think of it as a challenge with him. He's always trying to perfect you on every carry and I want to perfect myself too."
"I talked with coach Helfrich for a while a few times. He was more down to earth than I thought he would be. I thought he'd be more serious but he was easy to talk to and was very in depth about everything."
Arrion Springs was also in attendance and one of the Ducks top priorities. The two four-star recruits were able to bond during the trip.
"I talked to Arrion a lot while I was there. We had a good chat and talked about a lot of things. He's a great player and I enjoyed getting to know him."
Freeman said his parents enjoyed many of the same things about Oregon he did.
"They loved the hospitality and the environment. They were really big on how the staff cares about family and really supportive of that. They definitely enjoyed it."
The only known visit for Freeman is a trip back to Oregon for 'The Opening' later this month. According to him, he's actually unsure where things stand following this trip to Oregon.
"I'm going to reflect on the whole recruiting process right now following this trip. The visit to Oregon really opened my eyes and now I just need to think things over. I don't know if I'm going to take more trips or exactly what I'm going to do."

according to Jonathan Lockett via his twitter acct. he'll be visiting UO over this weekend. He's been tweeting back and forth with Springs

Florida RB Tony James has named Oregon in his top 6 but says they're the only school he's already set up an OV for over the one fall weekend his HS team has a bye. Oregon is the farthest away of the 6 so it makes sense, but nonetheless being prioritized is obviously a reflection of the Duck's chances. He would seem to project into the TZR role. The other seeming lead candidate to succeed DAT is NC stud Derrell Scott who also has declared Oregon is in his final grouping (of 5).
