Offers from Yale, Harvard, Vanderbilt... def has to be a high character kid!

THat concerns me. He seems to be looking for a college with very hugh academic standards. UO is OK, but not elite by any means.

D1 athletes have a much different academic experience then the average student so I'm not sure how relevant the school rankings are. Their sport demands a good chunk of each day so having things organized/streamlined and receiving extra support is important in maximizing their time. In this very real way, Oregon's famous facilities aren't just glitz. That the football players can practice, weight train, have meetings/film sessions, eat & study all within a close proximity isn't found everywhere. From my understanding most school's facilities are spread out around campus, so that means a lot of wasted time in commute. Readily available personal tutors & computers at the red carpet study hall Jaqua Center further separates the D1 athlete education experience.

Brett Bafaro and Dylan Asherman not going to return to the ducks according to @DuckFootball.

Guess that opens up 2 more spots.

only one more spot that wasnt already going to be there I think. Ausherman is a senior so his spot would have opened anyway. Bafaro is the only one I believe.

So with Bafaro leaving, who should we target? We good at LB right? That makes more room for O-line/D-line

Highly rated California DT Rasheem Green has scheduled a visit to Eugene in late April

Not looking good for Oregon on Kirk, things are up in the air due to lack of contact.

Hide your hamburgers... California OLineman Tevita Halalilo claims a top 2 of Oregon & UCLA. He says UCLA probably makes the most sense because of its close location to home but the Ducks have always been his favorite.

And why aren't we talking to him? We can't let TAMU take him

it's his decision where he ends up. If he doesn't end up in Eugene, I doubt it's because Oregon coaches are asleep at the wheel and not talking to guys that they want.

In other news, sounds like there is mutual interest between Oregon and Louisianna WR Tyron Johnson, who is about to announce his top 5.

Splendid.

Also, we are going to get Ratu(soon), but we may lose out on Christian Kirk. He loved his visit at OSU. No doubt Meyer used the "Percy Harvin" angle to lure him.

Also, Ronald Jones commits to Ok. State. No skin of our bones as we have plenty of other backs to choose from.

from what I'm reading, Breeland is being projected as a TE. I understand he switched from QB to WR last year. He's currently listed at 6'5 205 but his Dad played LB at USC and was drafted by the League so you'd figure he'll probably fill out over the next two years. Besides Oregon, he's received offers from several Ivy League schools so he's obviously another high GPA/good character kid.

And that worries me, if USC offers his dad will push him to be a Trojan to continue family legacy

Though if USC offers there is a good chance he might flip

very little is guaranteed in life, but he sounded pretty set in the quotes I read. Stuff like "I'm done" & "I won't be taking any further visits"

I like the downfield blocking highlights mixed in

Same, like him showing interest. What about Breiden? 247 is all over the place in regards to where he will go. Does he have a visit planned?

Texas QB Kyler Murray & California O-Lineman Cody Creason are both said to have been visiting Eugene this past weekend. Murray was the first QB that the Ducks offered, so speculation is that they really like him

And TAMU is smitten with him, though if Kyle Allen gets the starting nod it will be hard convincing him to come to school. Murray's dad played RB at TAMU, so the family connection is strong, plus close in-state. Our only chance of grabbing him is if Sumlin jumps to the NFL after this season. We have a better chance grabbing Waller or Kai Locksley, but Murray would be a huge surprise.

Love our chances with Creason though.

wasn't TAMU smitten with Mattrell McGraw? I don't know how it would be a huge surprise if Murray were to become a Duck considering that he A) just paid his own way from Texas for a visit, B) excels running an Oregon type spread offense currently and C) unlike TAMU, the Ducks current starter will be moving on after next season. They're probably the local favorite school, but Oregon always has to beat the odds to land a kid from afar and that seems to happen at a pretty decent clip.

What bumps Oregon's odds up considerably is if they can get the kid to visit... they've a high rate of closing with kids that do.

A.) His dad played in the NFL. He has dosh to spare.
B. True, but so does TAMU(unless with Allen they switch to a pro-style run-heavy to take the pressure off of him).
C.) You have a point.

Still, everyone and their grandmother has him going to TAMU. I bet he sees TAMU inside his own house. Still, if we can grab him I will be pleasanlty surprised.

In other news, Breiden committed to...Texas Tech? Why does a kid in Hawaii want to play in Texas? And for a team that sputtered down the stretch? I can understand a west coast school, or Alabama because of it's allure, but TTU? Does he have family that plays there? Is there a Tosh 2.0 there in Lubbock?

I'm confuse

SPEAKING of Tosh, Alabama stole Tosh away from Washington.

yeah his dad (Kevin) played in the NFL, but if he's loaded as you claim it sure wasn't from playing. Here's Wikipedia on his pro career

Wikipedia said:
Murray made himself eligible for the NFL draft after his junior year, but went undrafted. Although one of the nation's top orthopedic specialists cleared Murray to play in the NFL, concerns about his health and lingering issues with his ankle kept teams away. Murray had two brief professional stints, signing as a free-agent with the San Francisco 49ers and the Calgary Stampeders, but eventually retired due to the chronic ankle injury that had plagued him since his early days at Texas A&M.

He was a HS QB coach, but I've no idea what he's doing now. My guess is those plane ticket dollars were precious
