Question, who is coming to the UCLA game, or in this case, who is going on OVs to UCLA this saturday?

not on OVs, but DT Rasheem Green & LB John Houston were reported to be in attendance

Oh goodie

Also, any targets for us out in the Midwest? That jake fisher read and how P.Brown played reminded me that some Midwestern guys can play too!

there are numerous Midwestern targets. Off the top of my head Midwesterners scheduled to take OVs include... DL Raequan Williams, DL Drayton Carlberg, RB/S Marquise Doherty, and LB Tevis Bartlett. I've not heard any rumorama about Williams, but I've heard reasons to optimistic about the last 3 listed. Oregon also has a shot at Michigan LB commit Darrin Kirkland, who refers to himself as a soft commit & claims to be setting up OVs to Eugene among other spots.

Peat most likely to UCLA, we distanced ourselves awhile ago. Sweat cancels official with us, we didn't think we'd land him so somewhat mutual (since we have reduced officials(

Knew we were a long shot on Sweat anyway. Meh about Peat. If we can focus on Green and Houston so be it.

Ofodile may be looking around, recent visit to Ole Miss. Despite signing early (minor violation for us if he goes elsewhere) Note we parted ways with Newsome because we thought we were solid here, so if he leaves it will be a much bigger loss because we've already stopped or ended recruiting of most of our other WR targets.

both have confirmed they're coming up for this weekend's Fusky game on OVs...

Bleacher Report :sigh: I don't truly know this to be the case here, but generally I really hate the way recruiting reports are constantly jumping the gun in the effort to be first on something. Josh's tweet this morning... "I'll be at Oregon soon! Jus wait on it.. where my #Duck fans at???"...sounds like he's rescheduling. Maybe the thinking is fresh off a major knee surgery he should push the visit date back rather then cramming his huge frame into a tiny plane seat for two 8 hour flights? Anyhoo, if anyone thinks he's done with Oregon check out what he's posting

In other news, 2016 QB Seth Green is announcing tomorrow between the home school Minnesota, Michigan State (who he hasn't visited) and UO (who he's visited twice on his own dime). Looking good Louis... Feeling good Billy Ray :)

Does the Ofodile visit have any real teeth to it or did he just check out their campus?

I'm calling it right now, keep a big eye out on Ole Miss for future recruiting violations.... This is a program that came from lower middle of nowhere SEC obscurity to top program in under three years and beating Bama to boot? I know they SCORED HUGE two years ago with recruiting of Nkemdiche, Tunsil, Treadwell and Connor but I still question if those kids weren't paid off huge to turn down the likes of Auburn, Bama, LSU and even UF, Georgia or A&M for a team that hasn't won in how many decades? Seems odd with far better coaches available in conference and exposure to get them to the next level. That was an epic Ole Miss recruiting class. A head scratcher for sure and now Ofodile sniffing around brings up my sketchy booster radar. That and the fact this particular school embraced racism openly up until damn near the early 70's and the student body still carried confederate battle flags up until the late 90's to games.

As for Sweat,

I'd love to have a fellow VA man at the OOOO in Sweat, but something tells me VA Tech will pull out the state to keep him! Their D coordinator is a great coach!

Still have my fingers crossed for Green! This kid with Balducci, Buckner and Talia could be stout!

the story being told by his family is he's just checking things out and still solid to Oregon.... but whatever. No verbal commit is 100% until they sign a LOI or enroll in classes early (which Alex is supposed to do in Jan) and only the prospect knows how they truly feel about their status. In this particular case, Alex hasn't said boo to the sites or social media, so fans know pretty much nothing but his actions which are... verbally committed to Oregon, visiting other schools.

He looks like he'd be a solid addition to the program, but WR is arguably their most stocked position. Hope he's a Duck but would be able to turn the page if he chose elsewhere.

I'm hearing second visit in under a week and bringing folks.... I'd understand Bama, LSU, Auburn and even Miss St., but Ole Miss baffles me as a sell not just because of their historically racial past but this is a team that defines flash in the pan for success! The who's who of that amazing recruiting class will have 1 year left before they can all go pro and I feel at the end of that amazing class thus goes Ole Miss.

His parents will not be coming with him for his Oregon Official, that is one of the major causes for concern.

No I meant taking his parents to Ole Miss for second visit in a week....

As for Gallimore who I think is the best DT hopeful prospect we've had in years, he's still a super long shot....

While you've got your theories, Gallimore confirmed yesterday on rivals that he'll be in Eugene on a OV for the Stanford game. His quote..."Oregon is for sure going to be in the mix."

Hey I hope you're RIGHT! I want monster DT's more than any other position this team can offer!

of course I've already relayed Gallimore is my greatest hope of all the possible prospects (which might be the kiss of death to our chances Haha), but the only thing I'm definitely right about is that he is interested. For UO's chances I'd add that as opposed to most every other prospect, there is no home school in the mix.

In other news, confirmed for the Washington game are DTs Drayton Carlberg & Rasheem Green, & LBs John Houston & Tevis Bartlett. The only 1 of the 4 I think might commit this weekend is Carlberg, as the other 3 have stated that they plan on taking all their visits and announcing closer to signing day. Carlberg went from chatterbox to radio silent following his unofficial visit to Eugene this summer. All 4 are coming with their parents which is always a positive. Following a recent rivals read, I'm pretty optimistic about our chances with Houston

Also coming for the Washington game are Philadelphia eagles Michael Clay, Jeff Maehl, Wade Kelliikipi, Will Murphy and Casey Matthews. 2015 verbals Jihree Stewart & Alex Ofodile are going to be on their OVs as well

So Houston and Rasheem are in town for this game yes?

Well last night was a ton of fun and if those guys don't see how electric Autzen is? Who needs um! BTW- last night was PERFECT football weather, I mean what a classic night!!!!!

I've seen pictures of those two plus Tevis Bartlett and current verbals Stewart, Throckmorton & Ofodile... apparently Drayton Carlberg didn't show

Oh well. Carlberg is probably gonna stay closer to home. Sparty and the Gophers are doing decent.

Also, glad to know Green and Houston loved the visit. We gotta go after these guys hard.

So let's say with a 50/50 chance Muschamp gets the GONG in the next two weeks or less, how does that change Cowart's thinking on the big front running Gators? It's very likely that Florida will need another 4+ years to become relevant if they can at all. If FSU becomes a player than what does that mean for Sweat? Can't see him, Cowart and CeCe all going at the same position to the same school.

Florida will probably get a hot sexy new coach or Steve Spurrier to convince Cowart to stay

Muschamp's lack of job security has been widely speculated on since last season & of course it's filtered into speculations on Cowart and other top Florida recruits. Oregon is the wild card childhood favorite of Byron and he's coming in for a visit. The local school struggling to remain a viable choice helps, but my guess is UO's chances hinge mostly on him connecting with the players/coaches & Eugene while on his visit. IMO he'd be a tremendous get & would fit in most any school or defensive system. He measured in at 6'3.5 258 at The Opening, and like every single HS player ever, he's been steadily filling out throughout his HS days. He's probably 270-275 by next fall... I truly don't get how you can claim he's not big enough to play at Buckner's DT position

STOMP

The Big Buck has truly turned into a DT more than a DE. Buckner is 6'7 and 298 ish.... Cowart gives up size and weight to him first, and is true DE by his frame. If we were blessed to get him, I would even love to see him cover that 15 yard and under 3rd down area we've been getting slammed on with the pass due to his speed at the LB spot! Cowart is an edge guy that will get to the QB and cause havoc. He's not a DT though. He's a shorter version of Dion Jordan.

Rasheem Green can play Buckner's position and so could Neville. These are your run stopper, gap crushers. I think Buckner comes back next year, to go along with Talia and maybe "Neville or Green", that could be fierce. I still contend that Buckner is the real goods on the D line and Armstead is riding on his high school rep where Buck is doing it on the field every game!

Not sure on that. Neville and Green would be in NT

Balducci will still be here so they will be DT's till he graduates is my thinking......
