I got fed up with commentary so switched to CSPAN. Should have done so from the beginning. No talking heads, no commercials, just the convention. Evening began with security/law enforcement. I can understand the importance of Bloomberg, but man, boring speaker! Prime time was fire up the troops time. Biden, Kaine, Obama. All in fine form and far from low energy the crowd was rocking. Got to give a call out to the "sign committee", do a great job of sign replacing between speakers. Hillary made a surprise appearance at the end of President Obama's speech, they hugged, crowd cheered. Gabby Giffords taking cell phone videos. (I'm sure she wasn't the only one, just the one they showed; man, she looks so good considering how badly injured she was.) Bill Clinton looking teary-eyed. Passing the torch, as John Kennedy said.

During Obama's speech my phone annoyingly rang. The chair of South Alameda for Hillary. WTF? Obama is on. She explained the campaign asked her to confirm everyone who signed up for event tonight. She has the speech on tape delay to watch later. We are meeting tonight 5-9 at an English pub in San Leandro. Have to say I'm skeptical about English pub food but then I'm not going for the cuisine.

I've watched both of the conventions prime time speeches.

I thought Kaine did rather poor. A stumbling, almost stuttering style of speaker.

Obama's speech was excellent. That doesn't mean I agree with everything he said but the speech was well done.
