Trump is a blowhard...he'll end up losing this election and making a bundle on publishing deals afterwards....he'll replace Bill O'Reilly

Well, obviously neither the "citizen's arrest" or the "fart-in" happened.

One hundred years ago, suffragists dressed in white and chained themselves to the White House fence to protest President Wilson's proclamations of "freedom" when half the population did not even have the most basic democratic freedom of voting. Last night Hillary Clinton dressed in white and accepted her party's nomination to be President.

Of course other stuff first. Funny how politics turns phrases on their head. A politician says "family values" it means outlaw abortion and no rights for gays. "Protect marriage" means only straight people being allowed to marry. Last night we heard from a woman who described how she and her husband work 3 jobs between them, 24 hours a day, never see each other. She sees her children after they are asleep. Clearly she needs to have her family valued enough so that she and her husband can make a living wage. That, not hetero only marriage, would protect her marriage.

We also heard from a former Reagan speechwriter and a woman from Republican Women for Hillary.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar brought down the house when he introduced himself as Michael Jordan, and said to Trump they look alike. Was it unprincipled for me to cheer an ex-Laker?

The highlight of the early evening was Mr. Khizr Khan eulogizing his son, Captain Humayun Khan. This was followed by a group of veterans, including retired generals. Mr. Khan's speech, BTW, was not shown on Fox News. They cut to commercials, including a Benghazi (what else!) attack ad. However, Ann Coulter commented that Mr. Khan was an angry man with a thick accent. When I was young I read a fairy tale about a girl so evil every time she opened her mouth to speak, frogs and poisonous snakes fell out. Perfect description of Coulter.

Then came Chelsea Clinton, introducing her mother. Hillary's speech was not one of the Greatest of All Time, but she covered what she needed. She drew the clear difference between "our best days are still ahead" and the country is on the verge of disaster, between
we the people and "only I can save you". And she rallied the troops. Any attempts by a handful to interrupt were themselves interrupted by cheers.

Watched it at Englander Pub. Sick all night and today from crappy food but great company. Cute lesbian at my table. Too young for me and did not really respond to my mild attempts at flirtation. Oh well.

No more fun and games. Phone banking starts again next Tuesday.

Hillary voted for the iraq war. She directly caused the death of the son whose father ranted against Trump

The word 'directly' does not mean what you think it does.

Election Update: Trump Gets Convention Bounce, Drawing Polls To Dead Heat

But one method to measure the convention bounce is to look at FiveThirtyEight’s now-cast, our estimate of what would happen in an election held today. We don’t usually spend a lot of time writing about the now-cast because — uhh, breaking news — the election is scheduled for Nov. 8. The now-cast is super aggressive, and can overreact to small swings in the polls. But it’s useful if we want to get a snapshot of what the election looks like right now. It suggests that in an election held today, Trump would be a narrow favorite, with a 57 percent chance of winning the Electoral College.

The now-cast also suggests that Trump has gained a net of about 4 percentage points on Clinton in national polls from a week ago, turning a deficit of about 3 points into a 1-point lead. If so, Trump would turn out to have a fairly typical convention bounce. Over the past few cycles, convention bounces have been 3 to 4 percentage points, on average. As is also typical of convention bounces, Trump appears to have gained in the polls (taking votes from undecided and third-party candidates) more than Clinton has declined.

Should've nominated Berns. He'd STOMP Trump.

Now I'll be voting for Jill Stein. I'll give consideration to Gary Johnson.

She pushed a Nobel Peace Prize winner to bomb Libya and Syria. She was part of the decision making process to bomb civilians in Pakistan by drone.
