So there is this thing that happens in here where we convince ourselves that what we think Neil should do is what Neil will do and then when he doesn't we get bent out of shape. Example how many people were convinced we would buy a pick to get GP 2 and we didn't so then people were mad. We had no reason beyond our own speculation to believe that would happen. The fact that Dame is involved in the Parsons meeting should be a pretty clear indication that this is a high Priority. We all believe that a rim protector is what the team needs most but Neil has never actually pursued one.

Your self-appointed gig to monitor the posters doesn't seem to succeed in changing our freedom to think.

That's my point though, what if Parsons was the #1 target all along because he fits Neil's vision better than Whiteside does?

Then Olshey is an incompetent moron. You're saying that posters should have anticipated that he's a moron and not be desiring Whiteside over Parsons.

Chandler parsons would be on par with most of the other "best" free agent signings portland has ever made. Why are some of you complaining again?

Because he is rated something like the #17 ranked FA. We have a young, upcoming roster, great fans, tons of cap space, made the 2nd round of the Playoffs....and if #17 who has had 2 knee procedures by age 27 is the best we can do, that doesn't seem like that great of a get.

Exactly. Parsons has Oden's body, without the star potential.

Him being injury prone may be an issue but I don't care where he's ranked on some free agents list.
He had a subpar season but was very good with Houston, is young and has the talent to start on a contender.
We have Dame and CJ as this kind of players, potentially also Meyers.
Is he BPA? Im not sure that he isn't. Whiteside is good but i don't know if he's a bigger game changer or needle mover.
Im ok with Parsons as our first target in free agency, it makes sense

Hey, when you get a minute give me a call. I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

The final verdict on the Batum trade is in. We lost. He was supposed to be their 1-year rental, but instead agreed to Charlotte's terms as fast as he could at midnight. We will probably lose Henderson, leaving Vonleh for now.

I don't think we were going to give him $24M

He spoke about being unhappy in Portland and not playing the way he likes. We would have lost him for nothing. We still have Vonleh.

We just offered a player coming off hybrid microfracter and meniscus surgeries the max. Why don't you think that?
Can't come up with any other reason. Surely we didn't expect Henderson to be a star or Vonleh to be a sure thing.

Your self appointed role of being a prick stays true to form. Apparently everyone else is entitled to their opinion but if I express mine I'm somehow out of line. Well played sir well played, or not.

I find it interesting that apparently now Neil Olshey is a moron, I think someone thinks too highly of their own opinion. I think more often than not Olshey has made wise moves, no they aren't always the sexy home runs too 10 on sports center moves but they are stable smart moves that keeps progress going forward.

You can call him a moron all you want that's up to you, but the fact that Neil, Terry Stotts, Paul Allen and Dame were all in LA to woo Chandler Parons is a pretty clear indication that he was their man.

Sorry if you are offended but that's your problem.

My issues with Parsons are his health and what he will give us defensively. He's a nice shooter and I'm sure he'll fit in on offense, but if we get him and he was priority number one, then I sure as hell hope Olshey has some kind of plan B to address the dearth of rim protection and inside scoring from the 4 and 5 positions.

When have Olshey or Stotts ever indicated that defensive presence is a big priority? They haven't. Bottom line end of the day the team that wins is the team with the most points on the board. I understand the argument that it's easier to do that if you keep the other team to lower points but there aren't many 2 way players that play the d,that we as fans are looking for, and fill in the offense the way Stotts and Olshey are looking for.

Yep. It's really about health with Parsons. That and the fact people in the media here in Houston thought he was a douche when he was on the Rockets. He was nothing but nice when I met him though

Trade idea... Kings have too many Centers, probably need to balance out roster. What about sign and trade Crabbe for Koufos & Papagiannis. Koufos is upgrade at center that can play offense and defense and Papagoannis gives another young player to pair with Vonleh to keep team stocked with players for future

or sign and trade Crabbe for Koufus and McLemore? They are apparently debating offering Waiters a ridiculous contract

Behind Lillard, I think. At least that's what they were saying on Mike and Mike this morning
Dame with incentives is about to add up to approx 128-133/5 yr. Derozan gets the higher percentage because of his 7-9 yr max, vs Dame's 0-6 yr max. Literally not possible for Dame to ever make more than Derozan.

Beal and Drummond will be right about there as well.
