Oh the personal irony if the Blazers picked up Jordan for cap space (considering my glee at his inability to make a freaking free throw).
Free throws or not, DJ would be a huge get in Portland. As would Whiteside for that matter.

I'm starting to think Portland is the front runner for Whiteside.

Sure. But it would be almost Karmic considering how some of us have flamed him for it. ;)
It is some karma that I would be totally ok with. He does have some pretty big ties to Olshey as well. Stranger things have happened.

So are we not meeting with KD and Horford because we didn't want to meet with them, or because they wouldn't meet with us?
I think it's kind of the same thing; We aren't meeting with anyone we don't think we have a good chance of signing.

I didn't start out hot for Whiteside, but he has grown on me. I'm kind of hoping for it now.
I started out across the street from the platform to get on the Whiteside train. But considering what appear to be our realistic opportunities....I'm down with it. I'm starting to think it's Whiteside or bust. And I'd rather not bust.

Yes, and the players' agents should have communicated that to Olshey, one way or another, by now.

The meetings with hibbert, Monroe etc were all public knowledge either the eve of FA or the day before..so I guess well find out tomorrow or Thursday.

Monroe yes (we've been after Monroe for years so that wasn't a shock). Hibbert I didn't think was (I look at my phone at midnight and he had agreed). Aminu wasn't a surprise. Most of our moves are pretty quiet - more so than any other team.

FWIW, Quick said that Horford is the type of play Olshey Loves.

I am sure he is. The problem is he is the type of player every GM loves. His versatility, durability. professionalism....... puts him
in high demand. And with our track record with FA's can we afford to wait it out? Whiteside's desire to make a quick decision helps us there. If Horford is interested in us at all, 2-3 days should not hurt us. Unless he also wants to make a quick decision.

I have a feeling Neil is putting all his eggs in the whiteside basket and I have to think there's a reason. I think he feels very confident he can get him.

We'll strike out with the major FAs, and will sign a RFA to a big contract whose team will match.
Maybe it'll be RLEC all over again.

Man, being an insecure fan of a small market team really sucks sometimes. :)

Neil is totally gonna sign someone like al jefferson and be like " i did it guys! I signed a stud to portland!!!!"

I have a feeling ATL will won't do a long term commitment to Howard. Boston is an interesting fit for him, who knows what Ainge will offer.

I think Dwight can be had if you give him a 3-4 year deal for security.

Should I be surprised that Durant's name has not been connected to Portland at all? Like, we can't even get a coffee with him?
