I assume #61 is what anyone considered "undrafted" material gets placed at? Lillard was really that low?
I guess my question should be rephrased, since anyone could be off the charts prior to their last year of college ball. Lillard was up to #22 early in his senior year, according to that chart. I would consider that to be where his draft climb started, not his early #47->38 ranking that would have been based largely on his junior year. Was that when he had the broken foot?
He was completely healthy his senior year, and on this date 4 years ago--5 1/2 months before he was drafted--Lillard was #38 on DraftExpress' mock draft (#38 on 12/25/11, moved to #22 1/26/12). It is an absolutely perfect comparison to where GP2 is right now.

Which is exactly what I was getting at. Payton was already on the radar (#49) a year ago and has improved little as a prospect since then. Lillard was barely regarded as a prospect his junior year and faced the difficult climb from oblivion. It's like the FBS system where preseason unranked teams have a difficult time cracking the top 10 even if they go undefeated for half the season.
