No I'm saying he made a low IQ play. But I guess it's good that you could tell he knew he made a mistake immediately after.
I would have liked to have seen him get more mid range/3 point looks tonight because I think that is a strength of his and a big reason why I was in support of us drafting him.
I know you saw those last two hartenstein plays then
Dude moves like a much smaller player
Love his IQ
Love his rebounding instincts
Love his leadership potential
This is probably a biased statement because we probably shouldn't.Gotta take Drew Eubanks with our 3rd first round pick.
Leadership potential? I heard he has some attitude problems.
The problem is, they overate almost every international draftee. They hit on some, but sometimes they suggest drafting guys in the 1st round that will probably go undrafted and not make it anywhere in the league.

Watching the hoop summit. Hartenstein was chilling beyond the arc, got the ball, and drove to the basket and made the shot. I literally said to myself "I wish Meyers could do that."
He's 18, playing essentially a high school game.
Meyers is in his 5th year in the NBA.
Kill me.
anyone watch the Hoops game last night? if so how did Hartenstein look? below are his measurements and a few comments;
Height (w/shoes): 7'1.25 Weight: 250 Wingspan: 7'2.25 Hand Length: 8.75 Hand Width: 10 Standing Reach: 9'1 Country: Germany This year's Hoop Summit measurements mark the first official numbers we have for Isaiah Hartenstein since the 2014 Eurocamp, when the German power forward was just 16 year old and underwent athletic testing, but wasn't weighed or measured. Standing 7'1.25 in shoes with a strong 250 pound frame and a decent 7'2.25 wingspan, the 18 year old has tremendous size for a big man at any level and ranks as the tallest power forward propsect in our database all-time comparing favorably in terms of size and length to recently drafted oversized fours like Frank Kaminsky and Thon Maker. Hartenstein will have no problem seeing minutes at the center spot, the position he likely ends up being best suited for defensively. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/article/2017-nike-hoop-summit-world-select-team-measurements-5854/ ©DraftExpress
I don't think lots of players are overrated, just certain people overrate certain kinds of players.Lonzo Ball isn't overrated Bones?
Lots of players are overrated in the draft. That's why it's a crap shoot. I went to the Nike hoop Summit last night and sorry Brandon Roy's player that won a State title and is on his team. All intents purposes this kid is supposed to be a stud. He looked like garbage to me. IJS it's not just Europeans that are overrated. Almost everyone is.
I was there too. Hartenstein was so fucking soft... Meyers or not, I wouldn't draft that guy...
You can't say he has leadership potential because he's cocky though, because that's a stretch. There's no one like Nurkic so you can't compare the two. If he doesn't get much PT, he'll cause problems, just like Nurkic did in Denver. He's a cocky teenager who plays with an edge. It might turn some off but it hasn't stopped coaches from praising him and his work ethic. He's got that Nurkic in him. You need guys like that. I wouldn't call it an attitude problem and it won't stop him from becoming a leader. Plenty of players like that have become leaders of their respective teams.

It also didn't seem like he plays with an edge. He was pretty soft.
You said he has leadership potential and you have no basis for saying so. That's what I'm saying.I didn't say he was a leader because he's cocky, I said that it won't stop him from being one. He was constantly communicating in the game and encouraging his teammates. It doesn't take a professional to see it.
And you know nothing about his personality beyond some thing you read on nbadraft.net or whatever, so be real. That applies to me too. I'm not saying he won't cause problems, but I'm not saying he will either. We don't have to pretend to know more than we actually do.

You can't tell something like that just from watching a game. How do you think you can determine someone has leadership potential just by watching a game on TV?You can tell something like that by just watching a game. So yes I do.
And for the record, the hoop summit wasn't the first game I've seen him play.

He's also a year older. How can you not? Seeing him put guys in position. Huddling guys up after a whistle. Encouraging his teammates. He was literally the only guy on the world team doing any of that. Are you saying those aren't leadership qualities? It's not that hard to tell. He's also the son of a coach, so would it really be a shock if it rubbed off on him?
He's also a year older.
That doesn't compare to a foreign league with a bunch of older, better players.
Connaughton was a leader in college. How bout now? Gotta get good before anyone even worries about that stuff.
Pat C should be leading........off from third base. He's also a year older.

Is his non-existant leadership from the bench?Probably the only thing keeping him in the league?
