I did some work in Vegas with Team USA, and I can tell you in our meetings and the few interactions we had with Coach K, that he is a very nice, down to earth genuine guy.
Just thought I’d share that.
Ya know, Im sure he came off that way, and I think its wrong for me to continue dragging his name through the mud. I have a lot of reasons why I have negative “feelings” about him but its probably best I just drop it.

Sorry @dviss1, but it's gotta be done.

Told ya.

Oh really?

Rio won the game with multiple possessions of great rim protection.

Overhyped.

But team basketball matters in college ball.

Gonzaga fanboy, or am I "woke"? I dunno. Probably both.

I'm sokrry for your loss.
Because you were buying into the cliche media overhyping, just like they did with the Lakers this year.

Heard it here last, they didn't even make it to December...

I tried telling you man... you were buying into the media hype too much, and we're making arguments that all the casual fans would've made. I know you're better than that, which is why I went back and forth with you on this.

Oh yeah, and Gonzaga was without their 2nd best player.

Go Zags.
Ouch!

I wish we had more come basketball fans.

Im looking forward to the changes the g-league is making in the NBA and I hope it improves both the G-league and College. I love basketball but college ball can be excruciating to watch sometimes.

College ball is a better game tha the NBA. The purity, competitiveness, variety of styles of play, and and team-based play...

On which part....?
College ball is better. Most of the highly ranked guys are great athletes that have never had to learn how to play and wont until they get to the NBA. The 3pt line is too close. The shot clock should just go down to 25 seconds like the NBA, 30 seconds was a step in the right direction.
In the NBA the best players star. Too often in college the Refs star, this isnt all bad at least they call the rules where the nba its optional. Big games like Gonzaga vs UNC a couple years ago its just dumb though.
The best parts of CB to me are the same as CFB, intensely passionate fanbases, the rivalries. Players tend to show more passion too.

I just think the NBA product especially when you get to the playoffs is more consistently good.

Which part of the 4 things I listed do you disagree with? The atmosphere is actually another reason I like it that I didnt list.

Also, you cant list the refs as a reason the NBA is better. The refs help the stars "star". And a 6 second difference in the shot clock? Meh. Doesnt really make a difference.

I can literally list whatever reasons I want just as you can list whatever reasons to like college basketball that you want. I disagreed with the claim that college is better. I wish college was more enjoyable to watch for me but its not.

You cant *logically* list that. NBA refs are terrible. They're the worst of the worst and cater to certain players / teams. In college ball, they may be bad but they dont really cater to certain players or colleges, so at least it's fair.

Lol, by saying I dislike one, I'm not saying I like the others. I can logically list it. I hate both. I think the pace of the college game is dictated way too much by the refs. The NBA refs suck too. Again my reasoning for liking or disliking something doesn't need your approval. Same as you don't need my approval for liking or disliking something. I disagree that College is better, but it's subjective so... I like the things around college sports more than I like the things around Pro sports, but I find the NBA better than College. You don't have to like those reasons, I could list more reasons? but why...

90% of college basketball games are completely unwatchable.

I was just listing things they have that the NBA doesnt. I thought we were comparing overall quality.

It's the normal thing to hate on college ball. I feel like people just look for reasons to dislike it and/or cant get over the fact that they're not as good as NBA players.

I dont hate it. People just like different things. I actually really wish I enjoyed it more, because the fandom around it is fun.

Having an NBA "scout" mindset helps.
except 99% of them either dont have the skills to play in the nba or arent athletic enough. I really like watching G-league games, almost all of them are fringe NBA guys who might make it some day.
Scouting certain guys can be fun, but the talent is so hit or miss it can be almost impossible to nail down who’s going to be good in the NBA and who isnt.

Pretty much any Top 25 team has an NBA prospect that gets drafted. Name a current Top 25 team and I could name an NBA level prospect that will get drafted or be close. Watching guys progress is fun IMO.

Im not sure what it proves that there are nba prospects in college? Cause thats pretty obvious...
I dont know what to tell you. You think College is better, I think the NBA is better. Just two dudes with an opinion. :dunno:

You're saying almost all of them (99%) dont have NBA skills, but top teams have one or multiple. Im not suggesting you watch UNC-Greensboro and Texas Southern...

Like I said at the beginning, it's a shame their isnt more college basketball fans on this forum. Theres a lot of college football fans though... yawn.

UofO announced Bol Bol will miss tonight's game with a foot injury and will be evaluated next week. Not sure how serious the injury is

I love watching Michigan.

Beilein has those kids on a string defensively. Disciplined, communicate well, make multiple efforts, they don't foul, smart switching in pnr, back side scrams when they blitz or get a small on a big / post threat...just a lot of good stuff.

Offensively, I love that they run NBA sets w/ good spacing.

They lack elite offensive talent which leads to Charles Matthews and Jordan Poole trying to do too much too often--it's the one thing that I think could hold them back from winning it all--but Simpson is a reliable playmaker and Brazdeikeis and Livers, gives them a good amount of versatility at the forward spots that they can be pretty tough guard when they move the ball and shots are falling.
