A "fantasy football pro" should know how waivers work...
I know how waivers works or should work. When someone asks when they can start making moves and you answer simply at midnight that does nothing to answer his question. Putting in waiver claims and offering trades aren't officially moves unless they are accepted.

Honestly the system is a little confusing for me, why are players who no one ‘owned’ last week on a queue? Is it to keep some nerd like me from jumping in and doing all my moves at 12:01? When no one else has the chance?
It makes sense for a player who got dropped because then it gives everyone another shot at them.
A player that no one had well, everyone has had a chance to get them.

Not a pro at this lol.
A little more info if people need it. From what I’ve gathered if you claim someone on waivers it resets your position in the waiver order to last.
That comment was towards me and stupid. Instead of helping explain the process to you he chose to be super confusing and not explain anything.

You can release players, agree to trades, and change your lineup. The only move you can't make is a waiver pickup because its waivers...

If you wanted information on the waiver process, you should have referenced it in your question.

Maybe as the commish you should make sure you explain it correctly to people when they ask a question.
You didn't ask when waiver claims go through. The week resets, and it opens up every type of move including waiver claims. If you wanted to know when waiver claims are processed, you should've asked "When do waiver claims het processed" and I would've happily told you.

Yes, thats exactly why. Players could have enormous value if theyre a backup of a player that just got hurt or had a big week. It's that way in every league I've ever played in and it's never been questioned. If there were no waivers you could stack up on whoever you wanted and make multiple additions before anyone else. It also wouldnt allow the worst teams in the league a chance to recover.

I'm referencing Eric. Yes thats correct.

Got it. Thanks for answering my questions.

He asked when you can MAKE MOVES and you said at midnight. You didn't explain shit but it was obvious that he was talking about picking up free agents and you simply told him midnight. Don't try to act all high and mighty, this isn't about me. It sounds like he didn't even know what waiver claims were so I think he deserved a better answer than "midnight".

I had an idea of what waiver claims were, I just didn’t have a great understanding of how the systems in place worked. It’s been a long time since I’ve played fantasy. Kind of on me to go figure stuff out too. I think I’ve got it it at this point so I’m good.

@TorturedBlazerFan

What you want to do is make any claims for waivers today. You're 5th in the waiver order. So what will happen tonight is the site will start with whoever has the #1 claim and grant his top waiver claim. If he has none it moves on to #2 and so on. After going through all 10 teams it starts back over at #1 again and keeps going 1 through 10 until all players that have claims are assigned teams. So in theory you could get 5 or 6 guys if you really wanted to change your team drastically or you could put claims on 4 guys and those 4 guys could be gone by the time you pick. It doesn't really make sense to drop guys before waivers go through though just in case you don't get anyone to replace them. Once waivers are processed everyone that is unclaimed is then a free agent and you can add/drop as much as you want until the games start for the player you are adding or the player you are dropping. When a player is dropped he goes on waivers as well but that is a different claim only for that specific player if you want him.

For example you just dropped Moncrief and now he is on waivers until Thursday not part of waivers tonight.

Thanks! Really good post. There’s a lot of guys on my team that I was frustrated with lol, so I had that urge to be like, “You, you, and you, you’re all fired”. It’s week on though so can’t over react too much.

You realize that waiver claims are one of multiple different types of moves right? So how is it obvious?

Figured he understood waivers and was asking when everything unlocks. Everything unlocks at midnight, including the ability to make claims via waivers.

Quit being so goddamn annoying.

Nah man, quit putting this on me. As commish it's your responsibility to make sure people understand the process. Making a waiver claim or making a trade offer is not making a move. You failed to answer his question leaving him confused (and me too). Instead of taking the time to explain it better you chose to come at me so it's rather funny that you would say I'm being annoying.

It's not my fault your team sucks, ha ha ha. :twothumbs:

As of midnight you can agree to and push through trades, release players, and make lineup changes. Those are all moves, and you know it, so cut the bullshit. The roster essentially unfreezes at midnight, and you know what I'm talking about. Instead, you come in here acting dumb as if the only fantasy football move that could made is the immediate acquisition of a player, just to try to push my buttons.

If he was wondering about when waivers got pushed through, then he failed to be specific enough in his question which wasn't going to be a problem until you showed up

And you don't know how to keep things light, and all you've been trying to do is be as annoying as possible. Keep this up, and only one of us will be playing in the 3-on-3 tournament next year, and only one of us will be in this fantasy football league. Cut it out.

Bones, you are being such a freaking hypocrite right now. You came at me with the comment "A "fantasy football pro" should know how waivers work..." Don't make comments like that and then get all fucking butthurt when I respond.

I am being light-hearted with my comments and you are interpreting them poorly for some reason. I wonder why that is? I actually really like you as a person so I would only joke around with someone I considered a friend. I wish you could handle a little trash talk better. Don't make it personal by calling me annoying when you've called me out several times. This doesn't have anything to do with real life either so lets not take it there.

I don't know what is going on in here. What is real? What is just giving each other crap? Are feelings really being hurt? Whatever..just win baby!

I'm not trying to push your buttons. To me it was obvious he was talking about the waiver process not when he could offer a trade or set his lineup. When you said midnight I wanted clarification of what you meant and you took a shot at me for it. I am in 4 different leagues and 2 of them have a different waiver process.

Apparently our commish can make jokes and call me out but if I respond I'm being mean, annoying, and don't know how to keep it light.

For the record, I've made fun of @TorturedBlazerFan several times for taking a defense in the 3rd round and I'm pretty sure he knows I'm not doing it to be mean or annoying. It's fun to rib each other.

My 2nd receiver situation is pretty weak right now. I wouldn't take it personal if someone pointed that out or made fun of my situation.

I replied that to you because you came in here trying to annoy me with what I just described.

There's a difference between joking about taking a defense in the 3rd round and constantly trying to push someone's buttons over shit like how I reply to "When can roster moves be made".

I hope you see how "So you can't make moves at midnight like you said"? comes across. It's as if you're saying :So what you said is bullshit?"... and then you nitpicked my explanation to death, nitpicking what qualifies as a roster move to you and started all this arguing bevause you interpretted simething different than me.

All that compared to me making a single-line joke and you try to play it off with this BS:
Apparently our commish can make jokes and call me out but if I respond I'm being mean, annoying, and don't know how to keep it light.
Not only is that BS, but its also more of you attempting to annoy me, and you're accomplishing it.

Stop.

There are new teams in this league, including me. Someone didn't know the process and your answers confused me. It's pretty important that the people in your league know the rules. Like I said I was coming at it from the perspective that I thought it was obvious he was talking about adding/dropping free agents, not anything else, so I wasn't nitpicking what you were saying because it never even crossed my mind that he was asking about when he could set his lineup or make trade offers.

Not sure if it was covered but the waiver order is based on team W/L record then total pts, it appears. It's not revolving like some leagues. I like it this way.

For newbies, it's simple - just use Tuesday as your designated waiver research day and submit your claims before midnight every week. Like clock work.
