OT 2018-2019 Rip City Two FANTASY FOOTBALL

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

I’ve spent way too much of my morning reading about how to fix a bad fantasy team and studying match ups lol. Ah I’m such a loser lol.

I am going to be so aggressive trying to make changes to my roster, I plan to drive all of you crazy... I’ve already been in that process with hj lol.

Not sure if it was covered but the waiver order is based on team W/L record then total pts, it appears. It's not revolving like some leagues. I like it this way.

For newbies, it's simple - just use Tuesday as your designated waiver research day and submit your claims before midnight every week. Like clock work.

I wish the waiver order was "move to last after claim" like my other ESPN leagues. It makes you really consider if a player is worth trying to get off waivers if you are high on the list. Makes waiver claims a higher priority, you can not claim anyone for a few weeks and move up the list to hopefully get a great waiver player later in the season when a stud RB gets hurt, try to get his back up(for example).

I see the value in that as well, but for teams that sustain numerous impactful injuries it makes it nearly impossible for them to recover and be competitive. Being on that side of things sucks bad (from experience).

There are new teams in this league, including me. Someone didn't know the process and your answers confused me. It's pretty important that the people in your league know the rules. Like I said I was coming at it from the perspective that I thought it was obvious he was talking about adding/dropping free agents, not anything else, so I wasn't nitpicking what you were saying because it never even crossed my mind that he was asking about when he could set his lineup or make trade offers.
Yes it is.

It's not that way? That's how I thought it was and how I prefer it. If its not set to that then I need to change the setting back because that's how it's been in years past and somehow it got switched.

From the settings link for our league - "Waiver Order Resets each week to inverse order of standings"

That means the team with the worst record (total pts being the tie break I'm assuming), will have the #1 spot on the waiver prioritization then subsequent worst to best. That's how I'm reading it.

Yeah that's how it should work but after you claim someone off of waivers you should get shuffled back. Made it seem like if you have the 1st priority all claims go through.

Correct. You don't get multiple waiver selections after your first acquisition. The flip side is the waiver priority is set by each awarded acquisition. As in, if I was awarded a player tonight, first, then I'll be last next week no matter what my record is. Two very different ways of managing the wire.

If your intent was to set the wire based on record each week, then you did it right. If that was not your intent, then you should change it.

Yeah ok it is how I wanted it lol

Got it. Thanks for answering my questions.
The banter in here is top notch! This thread is gonna be massive by year end. How many pages did we get last year?

The thread may be larger than last year, but that'll be due to the bickering and fighting and not about ACTUAL FOOTBALL DISCUSSION.

I never knew how truly important I was to this league until now and my absence has caused such a rift.

(Puffs out chest.)

I sure hope their still is a league to join again after the season.

We’ve talked football too, in between me asking dumb questions and inciting anger lol.

so Football question for you guys. Is buffalo going to be this years Cleveland?
Peterman has been bad.
Josh Allen well the few times I saw him in college I was never impressed.

The problem outside of that is there’s not much around him. McCoy is the biggest name but he’s kind of old for a RB and they don’t have much of a n offensive line.
Point being that team could really struggle to put up points. This might be over-reacting to week 1. I just think that has the makings of a really bad team, with two young qb’s who are going to need good play around them.

So what’re you thoughts? I know this isn’t necessarily fantasy related.

The Bills are going to be terrible, they are on the clock now for the #1 pick. Whoever is playing them each week would be a good waiver wire defense.

What's weird is other than Tyrod Taylor the team isn't that much different than last year so either Taylor is super underrated or it was just sone weird fluke last year.

The big thing that sticks out to me is the offensive line is way less experienced this year. The starters have a combined 21 years experience last year they had a combined 30, and last year they started a rookie, so the experience of the guys around him was pretty good.

They shouldn't be. Despite last week, they should have a top 10 defense and their running game skills be productive as well. They're one of those team that should be in games but won't be able to game back from anything more than a 7pt deficit. If they could throw the ball they'd be a solid playoff team.

It’s really, really hard to over come no passing game, and even harder to over come it when your passing to the other team a lot.
My dad has been saying for weeks Buffalo is going to be really bad, not that he hasn’t been wrong before.
Maybe this is disrespecting McCoy a bit, but I think at this point in his career asking him to be an every down back and carry the offense, when teams will be stacking the box seems like a tall order.

I find this an interesting discussion, I’m not even a bills fan, but they were a playoff team last year.

McCoy was fine last year. Yeah he'll decline, but he should still be solid. The defense needs to carry the offense.

You’re probably right, but Tyrod while not Tom Brady or anything was both a threat to run and a decent passer so I assume that helped McCoy to have a little extra room,
Obviously one week doesn’t make or break a season.
