Ok, who unbanned HCP's account? I thought we had an agreement, @SlyPokerDog
$50 doesn't go as far as it used to...

So apparently Cleveland was granted the 2022 ASG weekend?

Gosh, I was almost remotely interested in caring about that.
I was shocked by the reporting that it's worth almost $100M in city revenue. I didn't dig deep into that but...damn...

No he didnt...
I dont see anything wrong with what Jordan did, maybe he lacked awareness that his team mate was also there, but thats pretty much how all great rebounders play, they go after the ball.
You aren't joking?

He obvisouly sees Doncic, and still steals the rebound from him. Talks are that DJ, Matthews and Barnes don't like rookie. Doesn't surprise me, because he's already the best player on that team.

"After his Trail Blazers, No. 3 in the West, were shockingly swept from the 2018 playoffs in the first round by the underdog Pelicans, Stotts gave serious thought to leaving. He had Phoenix in mind, as the Suns were looking for a head coach and had identified Stotts as a leading candidate. But they were denied permission to interview Stotts, leading some to think he was on firm ground back in Portland.

Perhaps not, as Stotts’ wishes to get an extension were turned down by Paul Allen, according to Portland sources."http://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/...art-2018-19-season/1u4l4v10hdqaw1urdddjr50m88

Now that is interesting, if true.

A) I have no idea why Stotts would think that he can't win with Dame, et. al., but could with PHX.
B) I have no idea why Stotts would be the leading candidate for PHX.
C) I could see why you would deny permission to a coach to interview for another job, yet not offer him more cash if he's on the hot seat. But I don't know what, other than a massive playoff turnaround, would lead you to say that Stotts didn't get outcoached the last 3 years. And even if we did win the 'ship this year, I would tend to think it's based more on CJ/Dame being in their prime with amazing support from Nurk, Collins and the supporting cast. Then again, I'm more bearish on Coach than most.

He never even really looks at Doncic though, he was focused the whole time on where the ball went. I get he shouldve been aware doncic was there and let him get the board, I also dont have a problem with a rebounder just going to get the ball thats his job.

Probably a lot of that goes the direction of nightlife that Portland doesn't provide sufficiently, so drop a zero...

I also don't see professional athletes, musicians, celebrities, and wannabees embracing the food cart experience. So, drop two zeros, and even if they did, drop 1.99 zeros.

Who says he is? Wall and Beal?...

He wants to be a bigger part of the offense because he's skilled enough to be. He's barely getting shots there. He'd be fine here.

He takes 10 FG a game. Not sure playing with Lillard, CJ and Nukic he’s going to get a whole lot more. He’s a good player. He also makes $25M a year and along with two other players who are all stars can’t seem to win games.

how much does a lack of sales tax hurt the state in terms of tourism? Do you make it up in the high hotel tax?
isn't tourism one of the biggest industries for the state?

Detroit's offense makes my eyes bleed.

Detroit's offense makes my eyes bleed.

Their most effective and prolific "play" seems to be someone named Reggie* shooting and missing, with Andre Drummond getting the offensive rebound, getting hacked and making 1 of 2 free throws.

*Jackson, FG% = .357 on 14.0 FGA/G or Bullock, FG% = .328 on 10.2 FGA/G

Note, those aren't 3FG%, that would be even worse. How you can have a starting backcourt in today's NBA that shoots that poorly, and still have a winning record, boggles the mind. Well, at least until I remember they are in the Eastern Conference. Then, it all suddenly makes sense.

Where do you hear this talk?

We could definitely get him 13 shots a game. He's shooting bad to start the year, but he's been great in his career. He's so underrated.

Zach Lowe on Lillard:
wrecking you
This guy gets better every season. Lillard has rounded out his game on offense to the point that he is good at everything -- and realizes it. He can punish opponents in every conceivable way, from almost any spot inside the half court. He shifts entire defenses with one dribble, one shoulder fake, one glance at the rim. He knows every counter you have, and has two counters ready. He is operating with a stone-faced disdain that says, "Why are you even bothering?"

Even last season, Lillard didn't quite have this combination of ferocity and multidirectional acrobatics in his off-the-bounce game:
Against Houston on Tuesday, he embarrassed Clint Capela -- an accomplished switch defender -- until the Rockets stopped switching into that matchup.

Lillard is shooting 64 percent at the rim, and earning 8.5 free throw attempts per game -- career highs. The Blazers have scored 1.45 points per possession on any trip featuring a Lillard drive, the second-best mark in the league among 72 players who have piled up at least 50 drives, per Second Spectrum data. Lillard has gone right on about half of those forays -- a bit higher than usual for a guy who leaned way left when he entered the league.

The whole league watched Lillard quake when the Pelicans blitzed him in their first-round humiliation of Portland last season. Lillard clearly went to work. If he's not ready for that treatment this season, he might never be.

Lillard won't win the MVP. He can't bring the two-way impact of LeBron, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, or Kevin Durant. He is the closest thing to Stephen Curry as a one-man point guard defense-bender, though no one is really close to Curry in that regard.

But it's always fun when a stealth candidate crashes the MVP conversation -- and the ballot, as Lillard did last season. If you're looking for that, look to Lillard again. He is making those of us who thought Portland might teeter look foolish -- so far.

Fun subplot: If Lillard keeps this up, he's absolutely making another All-NBA team -- triggering eligibility for a supermax extension this summer. That deal would kick in during Lillard's 10th season, meaning it would inflate his salary for only that one campaign. (All players are eligible for the same maximum salary -- 35 percent of the cap -- after they have logged 10 seasons.) But earlier eligibility would accelerate Portland's decision-making timetable -- if they even consider it a decision. (They probably should.)

Celtics are shooting too much 3s for my taste, with that kind of a talent in the squad.

Tyson Chandler was bought out by the suns, says he plans to go to lakers. Ugh
He’s not going to help them much. Just another random old player to add to the roster that makes no sense currently.

Bucks play amazing basketball. That game against Kings was plenty of fun, their floor spacing is amazing and what a turnaround from the suffocated Kidd team last year.

Pop has his work cut out for him w/ this defensive personnel.

Mills, DeRozan, Forbes, Belinelli....yuck. And their communication/execution isn't sharp either.

They'll be lucky to finish inside the top 15 on D.

They are missing good outside shooters and a backup center. He'll help.
