Guy is ridiculous...if the Blazers could field a team like the Warriors, all of us on the forum would be the cockiest, loudest, most annoying fans just like the Warriors fans are now...I dream of that day. Lillard has had some awesome moments, but Steph is making me think he is an alien like Lebron.
Dame is averaging 29-7-5, but shooting like shit from 3. Still, he has a PER of nearly 27. Which is superstar/MVP caliber.

Yet he isn't even close to Steph in terms of impact. This is like Clyde-MJ all over again. I just hope Dame's legacy isn't overshadowed too much and ends up getting a title here when it's all said and done.

I disagree. Put Dame on that team and he has the same impact in my opinion.

Curry's shooting splits through five games are: 55/52/91 and he's shooting 13 threes a game. No one in the history of the game can replicate that, much less Dame.

I believe Dame would if he got the same looks.

Dame hasn't ever shot 40% from 3. Curry is miles ahead of Dame as a shooter, regardless of looks. He's miles ahead of nearly everyone.

Dame has never had the consistently open looks that Steph gets.

Dame never even sniffed 40% from 3. Curry is a special generational force who will be remembered for ages. I don’t think Dame will ever have that sort of impact

Not saying that Damian is at Curry's level, but I think that shooting 39% is "sniffing 40%".

That was year 2. I thought he'd keep improving on that, but his shot selection went to shit and he got even more trigger happy from long range after Aldridge left. Have been hoping Terry reigns that in, but he seems OK with it. And when people ask him about it, he boasts that he takes tough shots. Well, you don't always have to take those contested fades from 30 when you aren't in rhythm.

One of the main reasons I'm ready for a change in coaching.

Agreed. His shot selection isn't always good and he didn't improve as nicely as I hoped.

I think having a better team this year (shooter wise) should help.

Lillard "didn't improve like you hoped"? The only Blazer in living memory who more outpaced expectations was Brandon Roy. WTF did you expect from a #6 pick (in a pretty shitty draft) from a mid-major in Buttcreek, Utah?

Context, man. He's clearly talking about 3-point shooting and shot selection. Those specific things haven't improved from year 2.

Who said that? I just said his 3pt% didn't keep on increasing like it usually does for most players. He improved on damn near everything else.

Can't believe the Lakers let Lopez go for so little.

Had to clear cap space to sign all those other superstars flocking to LA to join LeBron. You know, guys like Rondo, Stephenson, McGee, Beasely, etc.

Magic Johnson was GREAT player, but a shitty coach and an even shittier exec. It takes a special kind of stupid to screw up having LeBron fall into your lap. Yeah, lets surround him with guys who can't shoot. It'll be great!!!

To be fair all those guys are on 1 year deals. I’m sure they knew they weren’t going to finish their grand project this year and just needed to fill the roster with temporary guys this year.

That's still no reason to let Lopez go. He signed with MIL for 1-year and $3.3 million. They could have easily kept him and it wound't have hindered their Summer of 2019 free agent aspirations.

They are now relying on JaVale McGee to start and play big minutes at center. In two years in GSW, McGee averaged 9.5 MPG. He would be the perfect back up for Brook Lopez, 'cept they don't have Brook Lopez.

I believe Dame’s 3s are totally different. He is taking his on the move. Stef does as well, but I think his are more coming off passes as opposed to creating them himself.

These are open?

They're not wide open stand still shots. But yes except for two of those. Those were pretty open

The real word to use though is space. Lillard has never had the space to operate Curry does. He also prolly never will.
But one thing is for certain.
Your in trouble on defense if Lillard or curry get you one on one in space.

Which due to that organization. They've given Curry that opportunity.

Let's see, we play HOU on the 30th...

Let the "we're the luckiest team in the league" narrative 2018-19 edition begin!

He will back by then. In fact it will be his return. Just to spite us.

Nope, he'll miss the Clippers game, our game, and probably the back-to-back games on 11/2 and 11/3, but the general consensus of the forum will be the same as last year - we're the only ones who benefit from opponent injuries.
