Anyone have thoughts on Memphis this season? They started out great last season but then had a rash of injuries. Though it looked like Gasol's game was on the decline. How good is Conley? Will he put them back in the playoff race? Do we have to worry about them passing us?

Memphis is interesting, Gasol seems to be getting cranky as he ages, and Conley seems to get hurt a lot. They could be one of those sneaky teams thats better this year just because of health and some fresh young talent.

I dont know if they can make the playoffs, but I could see them being in the race.

LA looks better than last year. And Lebron is sitting on the bench.

No.

Gasol is declining and at this rate, won't be any better than Nurkic. Conleys their only other above average NBA player (other than Jackson, who's a wild card). So even if they're healthy, I'm not worried about them.

EDIT: I forgot they added Kyle Anderson, he's underrated. Still though, they have no depth.

Chris Paul:
"It's crazy people give HOFer Carmelo so much grief."

Tonight, Rockets vs. Spurs:
Carmelo on floor for 29 minutes: -4
Carmelo off floor for 19 minutes: +19 (+1/minute)
Im very conflicted on if I feel CP3 deserves to be in the HoF, them acting like Melo is a 1st ballot guy just makes me rolls my eyes.

And an NCAA title.
The title at syracuse is the most impressive thing in he’s done. Winning some medals with such a stacked group doesnt mean much. The Knicks before the porzingis injury were better without him. Most people think the Thunder will be better because he left. He’ll get in the HoF and probably deserves it, but he to me is not a first ballot guy, he’s a fringe HoF’er.

The HOF for basketball is basketball though not just NBA. It encompasses everything. He led a team to a title in college. He's the most decorated Olympic basketball player ever, whether he played on stacked teams or not. He's also currently 19th in career points in the NBA and will finish much higher. I'm not denying he has major flaws but he's most likely a first ballot guy.

Looking at the list for most points in NBA history the top 41 are all either in the HOF or aren't eligible yet and will be. 42 is Joe Johnson and 43 is Tom Chambers so that is where it probably ends.

I understand. In his prime he was a great scorer, unfortunately his skills ended there. I recognize that its a hall of fame for Basketball not just the NBA - Fun Story My parents took me to the basketball hall of fame when I was 10, it was one of the coolest places Ive ever been, Unfortunately the power went out after a couple hours, so we got kicked out quicker than I wouldve liked - The fact the olympics and international stuff comes into play is the same reason I say Ginobili should be in the HoF. However how many years of his career would you have said Melo’s a top 5 player? top 10?
For the record if the price was right last summer I wouldve been ok with getting him. Our forward situation isnt very good though.
Melo while a great scorer (or used to be), is not exactly Lebron, Or KD...

I really did roll my eyes at cp3’s crap about not respecting Carmelo enough. Of course CP3’s legacy to me is the guy who’s always hurt when his team really needs him...

People laughed when I said he should have gone #1. Think PHX won't be too disappointed as Ayton will also be a good player.

SAC and ATL are the real losers.
I would have him in a heartbeat over Tre Young.

That roster construction is just weird.

Paid 15 mil for an out of place Ariza and have no PGs of note.

Ariza move makes no sense. And they brought in Ryan Anderson right? Two vets that are just going to take up valuable minutes that could go to players that need time to develop. Unless they just look at them as assets?
And that team just a few years ago had an abundance of PGs.

All the folks picking the Spurs to finish top 4 in the West need to revise their projections. It's going to be a battle to get the 8th seed for them.

Was my not so sleeper for fantasy this year. Damn
