Enjoy your new toy. A real photographer would use a real camera. A large format camera with a little front tilt and every one of those pumpkins would be in focus. The toy camera crowd likes to refer to blurry images as "selective focus". With a real camera, there is no need to select which 90% of your image is blurry.

I had the 7+, so I was due. And I love taking pics, so just the camera upgrade was worth it. I can’t believe how fast and responsive this phone is. I went with the XS Max. I guess it really depends on what you use your phone for. Only had it 2 days, but am really loving the images I’ve captured. I can really tell the difference.

I question some of his posts, but I dont feel like its bulldozing him. Part of a forum is people are going to question what we post. I actually appreciate some of the more positive posters like him, who see the Blazers in a much brighter light than I do sometimes. Theres a few of them. I may not agree, and sometimes I may think they’re a little crazy, but Im sure they think the same about my posts so...

Ahhh. Yes, The HCP never said he was a real photographer. Not by any means. I wish I had a real camera for sure. Check out my Instagram, I’ve got some creative stuff going on. Have to be creative when you’re just shooting with a phone. I have a few professional photographers as friends. Would love to learn from them one day.

You can take incredible pictures with almost any modern phone at this point.

Personally, the HCP/Kingspeed/MM love triangle is one of the reasons I enjoy the boards so much! I mostly enjoy Kingspeed and HCP (though, seriously, shelve this Laker BS) posts. MM has been pounding the same drum way too much for me in the last 2 years, but that's the boards.

Photography is fun. I was a professional photographer for five years. It's an expressive medium. There is no right, or wrong. You don't need an expensive camera to make beautiful images. You don't even need a lens. I have seen many beautiful images made with pin hole cameras. Keep experimenting, keep learning and keep sharing.

Kingspeed gets shit on more than any other poster on the board. Literally every time he posts, you can expect the same group of people to go after him. His posts might be a little out there, but ultimately harmless. I don’t even agree with a lot of what he says, but he should be able to post without getting bulldozed. If you dont like it, put him on ignore. Simple.

I am self taught. There are a TON of great books on the subject. Yes, the medium has changed from film to digital but the basic principles haven't really changed. I learned from books, magazine articles and practice. I'm sure there are plenty of online resources these days.

Its great when people can communicate nicely with those they don't agree with. In this climate its a challenge for all.
I challenge us all to be able to listen to someone you do not agree with and don't argue or belittle, just ask why they feel a certain way, try not to attack, try to respect the freedom of expression.
If we all would be better at "slow to speak and quick to listen" to others, we'd be a better place as a community.

Dr. MLKing once said people can be either a thermometer or a thermostat. The thermometer only gives you the temperature, at a certain point, a thermostat can CHANGE the temperature immediately.
