They'll still be very good because of Harden, but losing Mbah a Moute and Ariza and replacing them with Melo kills there defense. I've been saying this before today (when New Orleans dropped 130).

Speaking of New Orleans, I love their frontcourt. Randle, Mirotic, and Davis give you 3 elite but different skillsets. They all bring different things to the table. I'm jealous.

I don't think they will come close to repeating that last season unless they somehow trade for Butler (which would make their bench light though so I still don't know). They definitely won't compete with healthy Warriors in the playoffs if it comes to that.

There was no way for us to get him though unless we had traded for him last season. He got much more than our MLE.
We could've gotten him if we shed enough salary to be able to sign him and remain under the hard cap. We could've also used the bi-annual exception on Curry.

Shedding enough salary would have been very difficult though. The only players we could have traded without attaching significant assets are probably Aminu and Harkless and I'm not even sure anybody would take them without sending back any salary.

So incredibly excited about having NBA back. I slept about 3 hours between Tuesday and Wednesday and then 4 hours last night at 2-hour intervals with a 2-hour break to watch games. Going to Iceland for the weekend so I'll probably be too tired to watch too many games there.

Almost won $400 last night if I woke up literally 10 minutes earlier - wanted to put money on Bucks, Pistons and Pacers to win but woke up when the games had started and odds went down significantly.

Just watching the Suns/Mavsgame. This kid Doncic is for REAL!!!!

Don't think 125K is high enough to actually entice anyone of significance.

Guessing our guy Simons would have done this.

That said, my guess is that you'll get guys on the fringe who don't have the grades in HS to even meet the minimum requirement to make it to college (Telfair, Jermaine, etc).

Yeah, Kentucky probably pays more than that.

All three of these guys went off at some point late last year. Wasn't sure how Randle would mix in with them, but was definitely worried about it. They sure looked good last night

The league would be better off if the NBA had a rule more like the NFL. Players would have a chance to actually learn the game and teams would have a better chance to scout them.

I'm sure the NFL player's union wishes it had the clout of its NBA counterpart. Guaranteed contracts on line 1...
