I guess it could happen. So the Ducks keep claiming. Hasn't stopped their slide into irrelevance.

I sure hope so.I cant pin point it, but I really like the impression I have gotten from Jonathan Smith. Just think he’s a really solid guy, that will be a solid coach for the beavers.
There are more sports involved than just Football. I'm not sure? But can a school move for just one sport? Not that i think it would be good at all but just wondering?Im just saying in football Id much rather see them compete in a league where they can stand a chance to be competitive each year.
Theres basketball schools that are in different conferences, than where they are in football. There are more sports involved than just Football. I'm not sure? But can a school move for just one sport? Not that i think it would be good at all but just wondering?

Im just saying they would compete with the BYU, Boise States, San Diego DStaes, Utah States, Fresno States, Houston's, Memphis caliber conferences. Thus they could build easier than than the budgetary restraints the Pac12 require. There are more sports involved than just Football. I'm not sure? But can a school move for just one sport? Im a platypus kids that went both at UO and OSU.
Id like to see him unfold his arms and keep his head up more along the sidelines. He needs to show a bit more enthusiasm.I cant pin point it, but I really like the impression I have gotten from Jonathan Smith. Just think he’s a really solid guy, that will be a solid coach for the beavers.
Having my arms folded with a frown is definitely how Ive watched a lot of my teams latelyId like to see him unfold his arms and keep his head up more along the sidelines. He needs to show a bit more enthusiasm.
.Yeah I read up on it. But it’s tough to do. The school has to have a certain amount of sports in that conference and it costs money.Theres basketball schools that are in different conferences, than where they are in football.
I remember when I was a kid Dwight Jaynes led a multi year campaign to get the Ducks and Beavers to leave the Pac 10. Said they would never be able to compete.
A conference like the Pac-12 may not allow the Ducks or Beavers to compete every year, but at least it helps subsidizes their existence. By contrast, look at Portland State Football. Talk about a program that is completely up shit creek!
I could see OSU doing very well as a Boise State type program.
Man, I think you have it all backwards. the budgetary restrictions would still be there moving to a lesser conference. In fact they'd probably be worse not being associated with a bigger conference. Their facilities are light years better than when I went there.HJ
All I'm saying is that if they were in a conference where they could be competitive each year they could build that program much faster. Look at BSU, Idaho, San Diego State, Fresno State, BYU etc.
I just think they have more of a dis-advantage in football compared to the other sports because of the budgetary restrictions. A move to another conference doesn't mean a move to div 2.

I think that is a real crappy way to look at things. Oh, we are having a few bad years lets retreat and take the easy way out! That will never be my mindset. I'd rather play with the big boys and lose every game than win because we play worse competition.
It wasn't that long ago that teams like Washington, Washington State, Cal, and Stanford were all just as shitty as the Beavers. The Ducks destroyed Washington for how many years? Washington also had a winless Pac-10 season. Should they have taken the pansy way out and moved to the WAC? No, you step up and take on the challenge. Gary Anderson ended up being a horrible hire. He had a great pedigree and left Wisconsin to come here. The fact that things turned out so bad in his tenure really set the program back but all it takes is for one good coach to come in and turn it all around.
