I agree with you in ways. They were the third seed last year so yeah they improved. Injuries always happen (lets hope we continue to avoid too many of them). We should appreciate Dame, the dudes an awesome basketball player. I think they could hit the 3 or 4 seed, but I dont think its a huge stretch for them to land on the outside looking in as well, but also once they get to the playoffs (we’ll assume their in it), they need at least one more CJ level player in order to be a real contender in my opinion. There just isnt enough talent, or depth to really threaten the top dogs. And there are always injuries.
Neil brings back the exact same starting lineup and same coach for a team that couldn’t even win 1 game against the Pelicans in the playoffs.
God, they're showing replays (several times) after almost every play, and miss out on half the game.
I like to think of them as ron swanson toothpicks.Man Anfernee has really skinny legs.
Yes there are, and I believe BECAUSE of injuries we got the #3 seed. And there are always injuries.
We were 3rd in West. Not exactly middle of NBA purgatory. 13 teams wanted that 3 seed and we got it. The year before, we were 8 seed at 41-41 so we haven’t exactly been in the same position for years as you put it. I personally think we’ll at least be 4 seed this year. Don’t forget we have Damian Lillard, 4th in MVP voting. Don’t take him for granted.
Just get excited that we have the simple pleasure of watching basketball back.Like I have been saying... there is not much to get excited about this year. Neil brings back the exact same starting lineup and same coach for a team that couldn’t even win 1 game against the Pelicans in the playoffs. And for anyone excited about the rookies... they definitely will not be in rotation with Stotts having his job on the line. Get ready to see the exact same product as last year minus Ed Davis hustle and a healthier and improved field of competitors in the west... mediocrity at its finest
So there's 25 teams in purgatory? What's the point in playing the season then? Why not just have 4 teams player 2 rounds of 41-game series? We were 3rd in the West....3 games out of missing the Playoffs and a million miles from #2. Right smack dab in the middle of purgatory....along with the other 5 teams that were all within a game or two of the Blazers.

I hate how the term "purgatory" is used around here. Makes it seem like everything is pointless...

Old man, you are tossing knowledge all over this forum! I may front load your status from rookie to vet if this continues. You are a young man. 23 if memory serves. I have been a Blazer fan longer than you have been alive! Now imagine that, all those years, and no goddamn championship. Yes, there have been hundreds and hundreds of great moments and games and whatever-the-fuck, but at some point--while you enjoy everything still (hell, I went to Fan Fest last night; I've got row E to opening night, etc)--you start to see the dead souls pile up around you, you watch the Lakers go up and then down and then up again, dynasties rising all over the place and falling away; meanwhile the Blazers just bob along like buoys at sea, never sinking too low or rising to high. If that ain't fucking purgatory in a macro sense, I don't know what is.

Well played homie, well played.Only your wife has the ability.
Meyers Leonard ends up with precisely as many points as he wants. How many points did Meyers end up with? I only saw first quarter.
I get it. I just enjoy basketball enough where I don't think of everything negatively when we're competitive but not contenders. You are a young man. 23 if memory serves.
