Not all, but I do tend to focus more on why prospects could fail as impact nba players. Because the fact is, most of them will.
So you should focus on what sets them apart..

We will trade our pick. Unless we find another Zach Collins at SF like Kuzma?.
Tough call.
We would like another vet, absolutely. But, we will also be in the luxury tax, and the best way to save $$$ is rookie contracts.

So, I think it'll be the other way around. We'll keep the pick unless we get a trade we love.

Suns will have a lot riding on a coin flip with picks they got in trades. They have a 1st rounder from Miami and Milwaukee but they tied for 16 and 17 and the Milwaukee one conveys to the Suns if it is 16 and Milwaukee keeps it this year if it is 17. So the Suns could have 1, 16, and 17 or just 1 and 16 all based on one slot.

I watched just about every Oregon game and a lot of them I didn't even notice that he was in the game.

Yeah like so many of these 1 and done's.......no outside shot yet. He will struggle for a while but he does have potential.

There will definitely be a very good player available at 24 who will need a year or two to develop. But someone smart needs to pick the right kid.

Your order doesn't reflect the coin flips from yesterday.

And if we take DiVincenzo with Hutchinson or Bates-Diop still on the board I would be pissed.

I'd hope Portland would trade down a few spots & pick up a early/mid-second (Philly?).

Shamet or Brunson should be Portland's target.

I watched Bates-Diop very closely during the NCAA games here in Boise.
I don't like him. He has a nice shot, but feels like he has lead feet.

I agree with the Hutchison part. We need that kid.

Why does Portland need a mediocre backup point guard with a low ceiling?

I'm not super high on him either but he's way better than DiVincenzo.
Yeah I'm not high on DiVi.

Dude had a great tournament run, and that's it. He wouldn't be on boards if not for him playing well over a very short time span. Collins was already a projected top 20 pick before he played his way into the lottery.

Mediocre guards that have little chance at being better than Shabazz or Baldwin... What's the point in that?

That’s not fair man, he had a great all around season. 13/5/4 on good shooting off the bench, he also plays solid defense.

DiVi has some big time immature issues bordering on character issues. Yes, probably just because he is young but that is why he needs to stay in school. I don't think POR would touch him in the first round.

I never said that he wasn't having a great season before-hand. Just that this dude wasn't on draft boards and wasn't really in a situation where he was getting overlooked because he was playing on a Top 3 team all season long. Just feels like some recency bias.

Character issues? What do you base that statement off of?

I wouldn't call them character issues right now, he is young. Just that they could be if he doesn't grow as a person (and I expect him to so he should be fine). Immaturity issues. He had some horrible tweaks discovered with racist remarks, derogatory remarks about gays and talking about ladies in an unflattering manner. Probably something a large majority of young men have but those young men aren't trying to get paid millions of dollars to play a game so he has to know better. I think it is enough that our team wouldn't touch him until 2nd round though.

He was 14 years old. That was 7 years ago. The "racist" remarks were him quoting a Meek Mill song. The media goes on a witch-hunt once this guy gets popular and blows shit out of proportion for attention and clicks and tries to ruin the best night of this kids life, from shit he said when he was 14. It pisses me off, and it's disappointing that people just listen to the media instead of looking at the context of the situation.
Ok, and I said he would grow but the gay stuff on his twitter was not quoting any song. I not saying any of us were any more perfect (we weren't! we said some of the same shit in person) but we also weren't dumb enough to put it on social media to have it come back to bite us in the ass.

He was 13 years old. Nobody should get something they said when they were 13 held against them when their 21 years old. That's ridiculous. Do you want to charge a 13-year-old as an adult if he commits a crime? Of course not.. So why criticize a 13-year-old when he's an adult?

He doesn't have character issues. He was an immature 13-year-old that didn't know better. There's a reason we don't draft 13 year olds....
His last tweets that were derogetory were from 2016. So he most certainly wasn't 13 the whole time he was posting immature shit. And come on now, you know if the nba was allowed to draft LeBron at age 13 that they would have. But my point is I personally believe that POR would find other players they want on their team more in this draft. If you disagree then that is no big deal with me man. I personally would have no problem hiring this kid for a job in my company. The NBA just thinks differently on these potential backlash situations. He stays in school another year and he is better off imo.

Show me the tweet from 2016. I think you're misinformed. The last tweet on the account was in 2016.. Not that it was bad. I think that's where your confusion is.
He last tweet was from June of 2016 specifically. I didn't say it was his last tweet that was bad. I said the article I read said some of his inflammatory tweets were from 2016 as well. But he deleted that twitter account. Show me where all the bad tweets were from when he was 13? We disagree which is no big deal as I said. If POR drafts him then I will be very happy for him and root for him.

I haven't seen anything that said the bad things he said were from 2016, and many media people who got pissed that colleagues ran with this were saying everything bad was from 2011. I've been looking for one article saying it was form 2016 and all of them say it was from 2011.

He wouldn't have been able to get away tweeting something like that in 2016. His profile was to high at that point.

Overrated:
Luka Doncic, Michael Porter Jr., Trae Young

Underrated:
Mohamed Bamba, Collin Sexton, Mikal Bridges, Chandler Hutchison

If I had my way I’d package the 1st round pick and ML and ET. Wasn’t really impressed with any of the college guys I saw this year.
