It's a smoke screen. Neil and Paul are popping smoke. This Anfernee Simons kid is growing on me the more I read up on him and watch videos... I actually hope we draft him now.
Doesn't fit a need though either...Honestly if Olshey thinks Simons is going to be a quality, starting caliber player, even if it’s three years from now, he should draft him. We’d still have other ways to add vets to the roster.

That's true, coming around to him as a prospect.. He actually reminds more of a more raw version, less crafty version of Donovan Mitchell.Who knows what our needs will be by the time they’d expect him to be ready.
But from what I’ve read (because honestly who has actually seen him play) he’s a good shooter. I’d say that’s a need.
He fits a big need if Shabazz leaves via free agency, not that Simons will be ready to fill Shabazz's role from last season.Doesn't fit a need though either...
At 24 you have go with highest upside... one of the scouting reports I read on this guy said he was the best pure shooter to come around in years... that sold meThat's true, coming around to him as a prospect.. He actually reminds more of a more raw version, less crafty version of Donovan Mitchell.
I think that's false... Huerter is a better shooter IMO.At 24 you have go with highest upside... one of the scouting reports I read on this guy said he was the best pure shooter to come around in years... that sold me
Lol. Their tweets are so randomly specific idk what to think.
Whether it is with ATL PHI or someone else, I'm told it is fairly likely the Blazers acquire another pick.
I like it. We need to bring over some cheap help on the bench.Whether it is with ATL PHI or someone else, I'm told it is fairly likely the Blazers acquire another pick.

Exactly. At 24, you should look for a high risk/reward prospect.
This late in the draft it's rare to find high-impact players. You hope you can land a player who can bolster your bench.
It's not like we're using a lotto pick on the kid. But what if his upside suggests that he can be a diamond in the rough - if you're patient.
Playing at IMG, nobody can pretend like they've scouted him outside the staff. However, he has intriguing qualities that you rarely see:
*Elite athleticism
*Elite shooter
He is a few years away, but his upside, to me, says that you take this risk.
It does after we trade CJ and move Dame to SG! /GronkDoesn't fit a need though either...
That's what I was saying...Can we be smarter than last year? I know people have talked about using Swanigan in a trade, but I actually consider his value negative and looks as if Jonathan Givony agrees:
"I didn’t understand last year, like, I don’t know, Caleb Swanigan, you know, I didn’t get that. You can find that dude in free agency, maybe for the minimum, so why are you going to use a first round pick on him, not to pick on Portland but there were a lot of guys drafted in the 20s last year where you were like, why not just take a flyer on Sterling Brown."

Why not? Can’t see Portland adding two rookies to the roster. Not saying you’re wrong, just that it probably means what we've all thought; first rounder is going elsewhere.
No. Completely different player. Is Simons this years Ferguson?
Why not?
Connaughton probably isn't coming back, and we're not likely to add multiple vets via free agency. We have the spots.8 guaranteed contracts.
Plus the expected re-signings of Ed and Nurk. I’ll add Connaughton to this list as well just based off the teams love affair with him and his low cost.
That leaves 4 spots. Baldwin is worth developing. Papagiannis is less of a certainty but they signed him for a reason. Now you’re down to 3. If you add two rookies, we’re left with one spot for a rotational player. We need more than one.

It's likely at least one of them is.Not sure which of these two statements is less likely to be true.
The dip is essential to shooting rythym. It allows the ball to move upward with the body and allows the body to transfer momentum into the ball. Most players don't catch and immediately bring it to their set point, and if they don't dip, they freeze with the ball there.
Curry dips, and has one of the quickest releases in the game. The dip doesn't slow down a shot, that's a myth. It would be easier to show you in person.
The shot is as fast as the jump, and catching and immediately going directly to the set point is often faster than the jump, and the ball usually will stop at the set point instead of traveling through the set point, which makes the shot just as slow, but also makes the shot un-rhythmic.
