If our pick ends up in the 22-26 range I think we use it to dump a contract Meyers or ET. Hate losing a first rounder but may need to

Yep... two more years with those contracts is untenable.

That or package with Aminu to move up some a few spots for a player the team likes. (Don’t like losing Aminu but he is expiring and would clear 8 mil to help pay Ed, Shabazz, and Pat.

I’d rather just let them rot here. It’s not like trading them would free up cap space. And they also both become expirings after next season. I don’t want to take draft picks away from Olshey unless it’s for a proven player.

Aminu has a good contract, so I likely don't trade him unless I get to trade Biebs or ET with him. I don't think this likely, so I don't think Aminu will be traded.

seen some mentions, I’m sold; want Chandler Hutchison. 6’7 with a wingspan over 7.

And here’s an article where Lillard vouches for him.

Naturally, questions still linger. Hutchison would be a 22-year-old rookie with only a sample size of roughly 200 in-game threes. His defense is only so projectable largely because he's guarded within Boise State’s zone schemes. Yet his remodeling is undeniable, and he’s won over Lillard, the notorious gym rat, the All-Star who chides college kids not even dressing for his alma mater to grind harder than him. “I think he’s even become a bigger Chandler fan, because he’s like, ‘Damn, Phil, he’s pretty good.’ Or, ‘He’s gotten better,’” Beckner said. “He saw Chandler two summers ago when that dude was skinny and just figuring it out and maybe didn’t want to work the whole time and now you just kind of see this.” Boise State has uncovered its hidden gem. Which NBA team is next?

Portland! Time for another mid major stud. And if he’s got Lillards backing like that, you know Olshey will take note, especially since he plays a position of need and should be available whenever we pick.

Khyri Thomas if we lose Napier and Pat, 6’3” 210lbs, late teens to mid twenties in draft.

Another wing prospect from a smaller school; Melvin Frazier. He’s got two way potential. 6’6 but a wingspan over 7.

Draft positioning is so insane right now. The Blazers are 1.5 games out of having the 26th pick and only 2.5 games away from being a lottery team. Usually by now there is at least a range where we could expect to be drafting when looking at prospects. Only 2 games separate 1 through 8 including just 0.5 game between 1 and 6.
It would be sweet to win the lotto again, I wonder how many games we would get out of Ayton before he suffered a career ending leg injury?

And how many titles whoever was picked after him would win.

Is this Doncic guy really as good as they say? Or is he the next Jimmer Milicic?

He has unlimited range but he’s scrawny and I’m not sure about an all white front court, not to mention 2/3 of them from Bosnia.

Edit: got my europeans confused

Edit: i thought you were talking about the SF Musa from Bosnia, never mind my racist remarks.

Have you watched a lot of his games? What are you basing it on? Just wondering.

Yeah, I watch most european leagues, especially acb (the Spanish one Doncic plays in)

He’s for real. Generational player imo. He’s a teenager playing against grown men and dominating. His basketball IQ is off the charts. I don’t think there’s any risk with him, the only question is how good he’ll be and what position he plays. I think he’ll be better than Ben Simmons, and fill a similar role.

I like Hutchinson as well. I’m just skeptical that he will be available by our pick. Imo this draft is pretty top heavy then it becomes pretty messy and teams will probably start taking project players or relatively unknowns by the 16th pick. Hutchinson is one of the better players in that category so I worry he will be taken around pick 18-20.

If we can move up a couple spots I bet we could land him. I also wouldn’t mind taking Hachimura out of Gonzaga in the late first, if he declares.

Yeah the good thing is it really wouldn’t be that hard to move up a couple spots if we needed to, especially outside the lottery. It seems like so many teams are in cost save mode and most playoff teams that are drafting in our range would probably be ok sliding down and saving a little $.

Hutchison would be so perfect, and I could easily see Olshey target him. He has a history of going after his guys. This shouldn’t be different.

Awesome. The league needs a new star.

I’d give up Swanigan and our pick to move up to pick him if needed. Would you? Swanigan is redundant on our roster, although i wouldn’t be suprised if he turns into a decent player. I just don’t think his value on our team will reach a level higher than the value of a potential young starting SF on a rookie scale deal.

Im not a big Olshey fan but the draft is one of the avenues I trust him in. I think his confidence level going into the draft probably increases the chance we move up.

Yeah I’d trade Swanigan to move up.

But it probably wouldn’t take much more than a second. Might actually be more valuable than Swanigan since it wouldn’t be added to a teams payroll.

I see Miles Bridges has been falling and is out of top 10 in most new mocks, meaning it could be possible to move up to get him. If not, where we will be drafting (between 23 and 27) there project to be quite a few athletic wings - the likes of Hutchinson, Bates-Diop and Hunter seem EXACTLY what we need.

I like Hutchinson.. the other two... idk... Bates-Diop can't do much with the ball at the NBA level other than shoot.. Hunter I don't know Mich about.
