Hypothetically if we could just swap Luka Doncic for CJ would he change the offense (for the better) with his style alone? Luka has a high bbiq and seems to be a great passer and also has a Ricky Rubio type of flow to his game. Not a bad thing. The more I watch him the more I think the stagnant one on one offense would open up to more of an up-tempo flow. Luka also has incredible range like Dame, so he's not someone a defense can sit back on.

Don't sleep on this guy.

Even Evan Turner complained about too many players standing and watching the guards go one on one. Too predictable.

I'm not sure I can watch CJ dribble for 22 seconds and then shoot for another full season. I don't hate him though either. If we keep him he needs serious help.

I think it would. I'd trade CJ for him in a heartbeat

SI has us getting Musa. Yes it is a gamble but IMO the type of gamble you take at 24. Down side he needs a full year in the weight room. (maybe 2) But he is only 18 right now.

Interesting they have Troy Brown going to Utah. 3 spots ahead. A different type of gamble.

24. TRAIL BLAZERS: DZANAN MUSA, SF, KK CEDEVITA

Height: 6'9" | Weight: 185 | Age: 18 | Last: 21
Stats (all competitions): 12.4 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 47.6% FG

Musa is expected to play at the NBA’s Global Camp in Treviso in early June, which will give him a major platform to stake a claim to first-round territory. He’s viewed as the second-best international prospect behind Luka Doncic, and is known as an intense competitor and streaky but talented scorer. Musa prefers to play with the ball in his hands and has some athletic shortcomings, which likely means he’ll have to adjust to a new role in order to succeed in the NBA, but his talent is certainly there, and coupled with his size on the wing and youth, he’ll become someone’s long-term investment. He needs to keep getting stronger and show he can involve others on a consistent basis. Portland is cap-strapped and could opt to keep him overseas another year.
Would love this pick. Don't think he'll fall though.

I would do that trade--I think Doncic could become our Klay. I just wouldn't like CJ staying in the western conference.

Yes. And that’s one of the two prospects in this draft I would give up CJ for. Bamba is the other.

Man, Kevin Hervey from Arlington is really shooting up draft boards after an excellent combine. He could be in play at 24 for the Blazers. 6'8" SF with over 7'3" wingspan.

No way... 2 major knee surgery’s and shot only 34% from 3pt against crappy competition... and he is 22, so I’d expect better production at that age

Yeah, I know the knocks on him. I was just mentioning that he's really rising fast and will likely go in the 20's.

I really hope we don’t wast a draft pick on that scrub... I hope the pick is packaged in a trade... if not I really like Landry Shamet... I can’t get over how much he reminds me of Steph Curry in his tape... except like 2 inches taller

I don't like Shamet at all as a prospect. He disappeared in every game I watched of the Shockers as he can be taken out by an athletic defender. Poor wingspan and horrible at defense. He's a good shooter for sure but he's gonna struggle to get his shot in the NBA.

He has a 7’ wingspan... don’t know where you get your info... so he has potential on defense... and this team needs shooting more than defense

Yeah that's the take I had too.. seems too unathletic.

Curry was absolutely dominate in college. He averaged 28.6 points per game. Shamet averaged 14.9. He's not anywhere near the player Curry is.
True but Shamet played only 2 years, and in a much tougher conference... also was more of a true point gaurd

Curry was a better ball handler, shooter, and athlete.
Just sayin, I’ve never seen a player that reminds me of Steph Curry more than this... just the way he moves with and without the ball and his quick release... very smooth

Huh??????

Landry played 3 years, he just didn't really play much his freshman year (injury?). I know assists aren't everything but Shamet averaged 5.2 assists this year while Curry averaged 5.6 assists in his final year.

Kevin Huerter has been rising up the draft tables. It’s not yet confirmed he will enter this years draft (I think he won’t) but he seems to have a nice skill set.
